Chapter 1741
Keegan felt a sting and retorted, “When did I assert dominance? I’m just thinking it would damage my
reputation if this got out!”
“Oh, but it’s fine when you and Jaylene unt your rtionship without caring about my reputation? If
so, why should I care about yours?” Ste nonchntly replied.
Keegan was displeased to hear that. “I’m not unting anything! I came here to express gratitude!”
“And Marshall came here to apologize. Is that not allowed?” Ste countered.
Keegan was no match for Ste, even before his memory loss. Hence, he directed his dissatisfaction
toward Marshall, ring at him.
Ste covered Marshall’s face with her hand to block Keegan’s line of sight.
With a stern look, she said, “We’re the ones arguing. Why the hell are you ring at Marshall?”
“You’re still young, so it’s understandable if youck selfrestraint. However, he’s much older and should
know better, ” said Keegan, furious at Ste for protecting Marshall.
Ste’s eyes twitched. Keegan never knew how to express his jealousy in a healthy way. He would
never tell her that he was jealous. Instead, he’d argue with her on moral grounds and put the me on
a third party.
If Keegan were to direct his grievances toward Ste, not only would she deny any wrongdoing but also
retaliate and eventually disregard him entirely.
However, he could simply vent his frustration when it came to a third party. He seemed to enjoy a
momentary release as he aimed his criticism at Marshall.
Hebeled Marshall as being much older as a personal attack, especially since they were the same
age.
Ste feltpassion for Keegan but did not back down.” Marshall is only a few months younger than
you. If he’s considered old, what does that make you? A grandpa?”
Clearly provoked, Keegan pointed at her, only managing to say, “You’re being unreasonable!” Keegan
and Jaylene’s joint visit to the Saun residence left Ste angry, so she purposely addressed Marshall
by name. Even though Marshall was aware of her intentional use of his name, he couldn’t help but feel
a certain emotion when he heard it.
He gently lowered Ste’s hand and jokingly said, “Maybe Keegan thinks he’s still young without his
memory, andpared to him, I might seem older. Let’s not argue with him.”
Frustrated by the insinuations, Keegan was about to retort when Jaylene appeared with a fruit tter,
prompting him to begrudgingly resume his seat.
“Ste, you came.”
Ste nodded in acknowledgment, not particrly fond of Jaylene’s host-likements whenever she
saw her.
Despite her dissatisfaction, she remainedmitted to avoiding needless conflicts.
However, Marshall said, “Ms. Saun, why would you say that she came when she’s returning to her own
home? Is she an outsider to you?”

Jaylene was momentarily surprised and quickly expressed remorse. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it like that.
It’s just that Ste hasn’t been living here recently, and I got used to saying that.”
ncing at Ste, Jaylene continued, “Ste, I’m sorry. I didn’t think you’d mind.
I truly didn’t mean anything by it, and I won’t say it in the future.”
Marshall was asking for basic respect, but from Jaylene’s point of view, it looked like Ste was making
a big deal out of nothing
