Chapter 1054
The words, “having connections’ carried a strong sense of bitterness, and they made Ste
immediately stop walking.
The crew members around them heard what Be said and looked at Ste.
In showbusiness, when someone said that an actress had connections, it would often imply that she
was a sugar baby.
After all, only a few people who were as rich as Nicole would venture into the entertainment industry.
It would take an enormous of luck for an actress to participate in a big production without having
anyone to support her at the back. It was extremely difficult.
So, a lot of them believed it when Be said that Ste was a sugar baby.
With Ste’s gorgeous face, it was hard for others not to be convinced that no one was backing her up
in exchange for her body.
Even though some actresses did not want to take that path, once someone took an interest in the
actresses, there were various ways for one to force them intoplying.
In fact, there had been gossip circting among the crew members such as Ste having an unclear
rtionship with Mr. Saun of Elegant Media.
Whenever Ste had to be on the set, Mr. Saun of Elegant Media would visit her, iming that he
wanted to pay more attention to hispany’s artists. However, he would never look at the actress
who created the most value for hispany, Be. Instead, his gaze was always fixed on Ste.
One time, when Ste had to film a scene where she got into a conflict with another actor, the actor
used too much strength and ended up leaving a red mark on Ste’s wrist. Even though Mr. Saun did
not say anything about it, his eyes looked as if he was going to murder that actor.
And, when Be passed out and was hospitalized, Mr. Saun had only visited her once to deal with
public rtions. Then, never again.
The double standard was way too obvious for others not to make assumptions about his rtionship
with Ste.
So, everyone naturally assumed that Be was referring to Mr. Saun from Elegant Media when she
said that. Be was very upset because of how differently she was treated by thepanypared
to Ste.
Internal conflicts among artists were simply verymon.
Ste turned around and nced at her. Then, she chuckled.
Be paused as she was puzzled. “What’s so funny?” she frowned and asked.
Ste shrugged her shoulders. “I just don’t think the result is anything great. We’re only in third ce
on the chart, yet the person who’s on top of it is being sour about it. Don’t you think this is funny? After
all, this is my first time seeing a person with higher viewership mocking someone under her. You’re
making others think that I’m actually better than you.”
Be’s face turned red. ‘What a sharp-tongued bitch.’
Then, she said, “It was just a joke, Ms. Jewell. Don’t be angry.”
Ste lifted her brows. “I’m not angry at all. I’m more than happy that you praised me for the good
result.” She paused for a moment before she continued, “If we were to talk about connections, mine are
nowhere near yours. I remember in your first drama, you partnered with the most popr actor at that
time with the best production team. If I remember correctly, the viewership of that drama was the
highest among costume dramas in the past ten years, and the record remained unbroken.”
Be got a little angry when she heard Ste talking about connections. But, as soon as she realized
how familiar she was with her achievements, Be felt proud.

The more Ste knew about her indicated how much she was bothered by her existence.
Be was very happy that she could get into Ste’s head.
So, she smirked and said, “Ms. Jewell, you do know a lot about me, huh? Did you find out about this on
your own, or did someone else tell you about it?”
She deliberately emphasized the word “someone else”.
And Ste knew exactly who she was implying
