    Ste went to a valley in an old town following the address given by Karl. She looked everywhere and


    finally found a small restaurant that served roasted beef.


    She pushed the door open. The restaurant was only about a hundred square feet big but crowded with


    patrons. There were men, women, and children, but none of them looked like a detective.


    Someone patted Ste''s shoulder when she was still trying to find Karl. "Are you Miss Jewell?"


    Ste turned around and saw a young man ina ck hoodie and a pair of jeans standing behind her.


    That young man was almost a head taller than her. He had a rather skinny build, fair skin, big eyes with


    bushy brows, and a young- looking face. He looked like a university student.


    "Are you Karl?" Ste asked hesitantly.


    The young man smiled. "Is it surprising?"


    Ste had never met him, so she said, "You look very young."


    Karl ordered a set of roast beef and pulled the chair before sitting down casually, "Don''t be deceived by


    my looks. I''m already thirty- seven years old."


    Even though he was older than Keegan by a few years, Keegan could easily look like someone else''s


    uncle if he brushed his hair back. Ste sat down too, and started chatting with Karl.


    The food was then served. Karl started eating while listening to Ste. He ate in a very hurried manner,


    as if he had not eaten for a few days. Ste did not feel like continuing the discussion after seeing how


    he ate. "Would it be better for me to continue after you eat?"


    Karl did not look up as he replied, "It''s fine. Go on. I''m listening." So, Ste continued.


    Karl was almost done with his meal when Ste finished talking.

    mistress made that ident happen?"


    Ste replied in a low voice, "I just think that there are too many coincidences."


    The ident happened right before they were about to divorce, and Albert would have the most to gain


    if anything bad happened to Rainee. Ste just could not find herself not suspecting him. She would do


    anything to make Albert pay if the car crash was not purely an ident!


    Karl made a copy of everything Ste showed him and said, "If what you said is true that the other


    party left Rivera right after receiving thepensation, then I''m sure something fishy is going on. I''ll try


    to reach that person''s family member and let you know once I have any updates." Then, he paused for


    a while before continuing, "Pay me a portion of the fees first. I''ll refund you if I fail to find anything


    useful. If I did, you''d have to pay the outstanding amount the next time we meet. Is that okay?"


    "Of course."


    Karl was very popr in the field, so Ste was not worried he would scam her. She even paid him


    twenty thousand extra and asked him to investigate sooner.


    She was going to engage in awsuit against Albert about the issue of property division, so she had to


    find something useful before the legal proceedings ended. She wanted to send Albert to jail if he did


    plot against her mother to embezzle the properties. Also, she would not let Hylda and her daughter get


    away with it either.
