    Chapter 1493: Questioning

    Chapter 1493: Questioning

Grace was feeling quite nervous, afraid that Ayan might misunderstand her intentions, so she didn''t

    dare to hesitate or dy.

Ayan calmly looked at her, pondering over the meaning of Grace''s words.

Their eyes locked, and he spoke in aposed manner, "I know everything about her."

Grace hesitated for a moment, her voice slightly subdued, "Everything?"

    "Everything!" Ayan affirmed.

Grace fell silent briefly, then spoke again, "So, Mr. Simpson, does she know about Camille''s

    rtionship with the Armstrong family?"

Grace didn''t want to waste any more time. She had gleaned some information from Ayan''s

responses, and if he imed to know everything about Camille, he probably guessed what she

    wanted to convey.

Looking at Ayan, Grace stared at him unwaveringly, and without waiting for him to respond, she

continued, "Mr. Simpson, I didn''t want to bring this up at first because I wasn''t sure how it would

affect Camille. But I believe it''s not right to keep you in the dark. That way, at least you''ll be aware if

    anything unexpected happens."

In fact, the reason she had called Ayan in the first ce was to tell him about this. But back then,

the words had stuck in her throat, unsure of how to broach the topic. She was in a dilemma, which

    led to dys.

Grace''s implications were clear by now. If Ayan didn''t know, he probably didn''t fully grasp her

intentions. But Ayan, understanding her veiled remarks, naturally made the connection.

Ayan''s expression had changed from poker-faced to serious, his voice low as he asked, "When did

    you find out?"

Ayan''s straightforward question made Grace nervous.

She was always nervous around Ayan because since she had known him, he held a powerful

position. Such a man naturally evoked a sense of awe.

Grace remained silent for a couple of seconds before speaking softly, "It hasn''t been long since I

found out, just a few days. I stumbled upon a contract while organizing my parents'' belongings. It

was dated from some years back, but it had been well preserved."

When Grace made the discovery, she struggled to describe the emotions she felt at that moment.

Even now, she could vividly recall the shock and panic she felt. She regretted having even

attempted to sort through those items. She had debated between throwing them away or leaving

them for the household staff to handle. But the repercussions of leaving it for someone else to

    discover might be even worse.

Learning this had left Grace feelingplex and unsettled. She didn''t know how to deal with it or

face Camille. Those days had been truly agonizing for her.

She had contacted Ayan immediately, but the conversation had been postponed due to Ayan''s

    unavability.

However, she hadn''t expected Ayan to be already aware of the situation.

That had taken her by surprise.

Naturally, Ayan didn''t concern himself with her reactions or emotions. He simply asked, "Have you

    thought about telling her?"

"I don''t know. I feel conflicted about this. I don''t know how to broach the subject with Camille, or if

she''s even aware of it. So I dare not ask or speak!" Grace replied honestly.

If Camille did know, she''d be poking at Camille''s sore spot. If she didn''t, she''d be breaching her

    trust.

Grace let out a silent sigh, her feelings still inarticte andplex.

    Property belongs to N?vel(D)r/ama.Org.

She looked at Ayan and asked, "Mr. Simpson, does Camille know?"

"Of course not," Ayan cleared his throat, his voice heavy, "I have no intention of telling her about this

for now. So, I need you to keep it to yourself for the time being."

    Grace nodded slightly.

Ayan continued, "Not only should you not tell her, but no one else should know either, including

Horace. The fewer people are aware of this, the better."

"I understand, Mr. Simpson. You can trust me; I won''t breathe a word to anyone, including Horace,"

    Grace assured earnestly.

    Ayan didn''t question her further.

He inquired about the contract that Grace had seen, wanting to know its contents.

Grace truthfully revealed that the contract forbade Brody Page from disclosing anything about

Camille''s birth, or else the Armstrong Corp would sever all ties with them and they''d lose everything

    they had.

The contract had been orchestrated by the old Armstrong.

This was Grace''s second unexpected revtion. It indicated that the old Armstrong was privy to

more information, and Brody Page seemed to be merely a coborator in this matter.

However, since the old Armstrong had passed away, only Brody knew the full extent of the situation.

Despite the magnitude of the matter, Brody seemed unfazed and had neglected it.

Grace''s thoughts were tumultuous. She looked at Ayan and asked, "Mr. Simpson, is the reason my

father hasn''t said anything about this because of you?"

"Partly because of me." Ayan had warned Brody not to speak out, lest his time in prison would be

even more difficult. While he was currently incarcerated, at least he had his basic needs met without

    restrictions.

All of this had been orchestrated by Ayan. Otherwise, Brody''s days would have been much harsher.

Grace''s expression turned serious as she asked, "Mr. Simpson, I''ve been honest about what I know.

I want to know how much you know."

Ayan responded mildly, "More than you do. But it''s better if you don''t know the extent of it. It will

lessen the burden on you and you won''t be as tense and anxious when facing Camille."

Grace nodded lightly. Since Ayan put it that way, she saw no need to press for more information.

Moreover, Ayan was right. She tended to be impulsive and couldn''t keep secrets. This one

discovery had already led Camille and Horace to question her behavior several times. By attributing

it to her parents, she had managed to evade their suspicions. But if she learned more, she''d

struggle to find excuses when facing Camille in the future.

Hence, it was better to know as little as possible.

Looking at Ayan, Grace said, "Mr. Simpson, despite the nature of the rtionship between Camille

and me, she''s like a sister to me. That fact will never change, no matter what. So, I genuinely hope

she''ll be alright. And when you decide to tell her about this, please let me know. I want to be there

    for her right away."
