    Chapter 987: Dizziness

Camille''s reaction revealed her thoughts, and Ayan''s expression naturally soured. He narrowed his

eyes and disyed a faint displeasure as he said, "Of course, I know what I''m saying. So, you''re not

    willing?"

"Ayan, can we talk about this when we get back? Now is not the time for this discussion. We just came

out, and the staff mightin about us causing a scene."

"We have the freedom to do as we please, right? We''re the ones involved, so why should we care

about what others think?" Ayan replied, somewhat self-assured.

This left Camille at a loss for words. She blinked her eyes, momentarily unsure of what to say.

After a brief silence, she spoke up, "I understand your point. Even if we don''t care about others''

opinions, we shouldn''t draw too much attention to ourselves. If we go back in right now, won''t the

people waiting in the lobby see us? It''s a crowded ce, and who knows what rumors might spread."

Camille attempted to convince Ayan and patiently exin the reasoning behind her words.

But at this moment, Ayan couldn''t care less. His mind was fixed on his proposal, and he couldn''t be

    swayed from it.

He stared into Camille''s eyes, as if trying to see through her. "So, are you saying that if no one gossips,

    you''ll agree to remarry me?"

Camille was once again taken aback, not knowing how to respond.

However, Ayan seemed quite confident. "I''ll arrange it now, either clearing the area or offering them

incentives to keep quiet if necessary."

Camille almost wanted to open Ayan''s head to see what was going on inside. Why couldn''t he

    understand?

Camille felt utterly helpless, and it was emotionally draining.

She tightly bit her lip and said, "Please don''t do this."

Ayan remained silent, his face still disying a mixture of annoyance and frustration, making Camille

    even more exasperated.

She reached out and gently touched Ayan''s arm, speaking in a very gentle tone. "Ayan, doing this

might just give people something to talk about. So much has happened recently, and I really don''t want

to be the subject of gossip."

    He continued to remain silent.

Camille was in a difficult spot.

She lightly bit her lip, thinking quickly. Her voice turned even more tender as she said, "Let''s go back

for now. I have work this afternoon."

Ayan''s brows furrowed, and his expression grew colder. His voice remained low. "Are you saying you

    don''t want to remarry me?"

He regretted agreeing so easily and wished he had found another way to ease her dissatisfaction. Now

that they were divorced for real, she seemed unwilling to remarry him.

This made Ayan feel like their rtionship was slipping out of his control, leaving him uncertain.

He wouldn''t reveal this to Camille; instead, he suppressed his emotions.

Camille had no idea about the turmoil inside him. She just didn''t know how to exin things to avoid

    misunderstandings.

But just as Camille was struggling with her response, Ayan''s phone rang. It was Kian calling.

Something seemed amiss, as Ayan''s face didn''t look too pleasant, and his tone was aloof. He

answered, "Alright, in about an hour."

After saying that, Ayan hung up and cast one deep look at Camille before starting the engine and

    driving away.

Ayan drove Camille back to Franklin Bay, and Camille took the initiative to ask, "Has something

    happened?"

His gaze remained on the road ahead, his expression calm. He replied, "It''s about Cora. She''s at the

police station now. Originally, we were just waiting for the legal procedures to charge her. Butst night,

she suddenly applied for bail and requested that the police provide her with awyer."

Camille''s face also turned cold, her voice devoid of warmth. She asked, "Is she confident she can get

    away with this?"

    "Probably not."

"So, what''s her purpose in doing this? It seems like an unnecessary move. Is she up to something?"

Camille looked at Ayan, her tone indifferent.

Ayan freed one hand and gently held Camille''s hand. He said, "No, I won''t allow anything unexpected.

She must be held ountable for what she''s done."

Camille was still holding Ayan''s hand, and she smiled faintly. "Is your determination this time decided

by that she told me we were never divorced?"

"Partly," Ayan replied nonchntly. "Originally, I thought leaving her in there would be a harsher

punishment. But since she''s finding ways to get out, it seems my approach was wed. So, it''s better to

    let the police handle it."

Camille nodded, agreeing with Ayan''s decision.

Upon returning to Franklin Bay, the car came to a stop, but Ayan didn''t let go of her hand. Camille didn''t

rush him; she didn''t want him to start trouble again.

So, she patiently sat there with him in silence.

Camille didn''t react, but Ayan eventually broke the silence by asking, "Nothing on your mind to say?"

Camille looked at him. "Say what?"

Their eyes met, and his gaze grew deeper. He seemed to be gradually warming up, and the

temperature inside the car unknowingly rose.

His pitch-ck eyes narrowed slightly, and his throat rolled as he spoke in a husky voice, "I''ve already

made such a big sacrifice today. Aren''t you going to make it up to me?"

Camille lightly pursed her lips and asked, "What kind ofpensation do you want?"

"Then you have to hae to think about it," he replied, a bit yful.

Her smile deepened, and she leaned in to kiss him on the lips. But just as she was about to pull away,

    he took the initiative.

He held the back of Camille''s head firmly, leaving her no room to escape or refuse. He had wanted to

do this since he first saw her this morning. She was all dressed up. Who was she dressing up for? Who

was she trying to impress with her appearance?

As these thoughts ran through his mind, he felt no mercy. The kiss continued until Ayan was satisfied.

His eyes took on a crimson hue, and his forehead touched Camille''s as he spoke in a husky tone, "I''m

moving back in tonight, and you won''t send me away."

His tone was domineering, not a negotiation but an announcement.

Camille remained silent, her head spinning, and she didn''t want to say another word.

She looked at him with a sulking expression, and Ayan found it adorable. So, he cupped her cheek and

kissed the corner of her lips. "Do you want me to escort you inside?"

Camille pushed him away with force and then wordlessly opened the car door and got out.

Ayan watched her reaction with an undisguised smile, clearly in a very good mood. He was entirely

different from the man who had just left the Civil Affairs Bureau.

He looked through the car window at Camille, then said softly, "I''lle back tonight to have dinner

    with you."

"No, I don''t want to eat with you. I have to be with Timmy tonight. You can dine by yourself!" Camille

    replied without looking at him.

Ayan wasn''t angry; his smile still lingered on his face. His thin lips curved, and then he calmly stepped

on the gas, driving towards Simpson Group.

After a while, Ayan arrived at the Simpson Group office.

Kian followed him inside, holding several files, and began briefing him on Cora''s situation.

Kian said, "I''ve contacted Logan. He suggests that we proceed ording to Cora''s wishes. Our

evidence is enough to convict her, and right now, she''s just putting up useless resistance."

Ayan sat down at his desk, a cold and stern expression on his face. He spoke in a chilly tone, "I refuse.

Who does she think she is? What right does she have to demand awyer?"

He didn''t care what kind of scheme Cora was nning. He was not going to allow her any chance to

    refute the charges.
