    Chapter 967: Letting Go

    Chapter 967: Letting Go

"Use her phone number to locate her address, then go straight there," he ordered, his handsome face

devoid of any expression or emotion.

Kian nodded but still asked, "Should I have a few people follow us?"

Ayan opened his eyes, and a coldness emanated from his deep gaze. He looked out the window, his

eyes filled with a chilling indifference. This demeanor continued until Kian drove them to Cora''s

    residence.

Cora was currently staying in a rather ordinary motel. Instead of driving directly to the motel''s entrance,

they parked on the side of the road opposite the motel.

Once the car came to a stop, Kian softly inquired, "Mr. Simpson, our people are also here. Should we

wait for Cora to appear, or should we take the move?"

Ayan''s gaze remained cool and calm. He replied indifferently, "Find out which room she''s staying in,

    and go straight up."

Kian nodded and then watched as Ayan pushed open the car door and left.

Ayan walked towards the motel with deliberate, measured steps. Even from a distance, Kian could feel

the icy aura radiating from him, enveloping those around him in a cold chill.

Inside the motel, Kian''s people had already obtained the room number where Cora was staying

through the motel''s owner. However, Cora had left half an hour ago and wasn''t in her room at the

    moment.

Worried, Kian asked Ayan, "Mr. Simpson, what should we do now?"

"We wait upstairs," Ayan replied coolly before heading towards the stairs.

Kian immediately instructed their team, "Apany our boss here and wait. Don''t reveal yourselves

until she returns, then escort her upstairs."

With that, Kian followed Ayan into the room where Cora was staying.

The room was somewhat messy, with several leftover takeout boxes and fruit peels scattered on the

floor. There were also some pieces of clothing haphazardly strewn about for changing.

Ayan had Kian fetch a chair from the adjacent room and sat in a position where he could directly see

    the door.

Ayan sat in the room for nearly an hour, during which the room remained eerily quiet. Kian sat just a

few steps away from Ayan and asionally stole nces at him. Ayan kept his eyes closed, and from

    disturbing him.

Suddenly, amotion could be heard from outside the room. Ayan''s eyes snapped open, and his

gaze, as well as Kian''s, shifted towards the door.

Ayan sat perfectly still, and the dark abyss of his eyes remained unblinking. As the door opened from

the outside, a person wearing a duckbill cap and loose-fitting T-shirt and jeans entered. Before she

could step into the room, she saw the man directly in her line of sight.

Their eyes locked, and her body froze. Her blood seemed to stop flowing through her veins. She

immediately realized the situation and instinctively took a step back, attempting to close the door

behind her. However, the two bodyguards who hade up with her blocked her path.

She had no choice but to enter the room, and the door closed behind her.

Cora stood hesitantly by the entrance, unable to move any farther. Her eyes were fixed on Ayan, and

her expression was one of panic and anxiety. Her voice quivered as she spoke, "Ayan, why are you

    here?"

Ayan''s gaze held a coldness, but there was no trace of anger. He replied indifferently, "Why do you

    think I''m here?"

Cora''s face twisted into an awkward expression, and her fear remained palpable in her eyes. She said,

"Ayan, I''ve be so pitiful. Can''t you let me go? I won''t bother you anymore. If you don''t want me to

stay in Hance, I can leave. I''ll nevere back, as long as you don''t trouble me anymore or lock me

    up. Can you do that?"

As Cora spoke, she walked further into the room, but she still kept her distance from Ayan. It seemed

like she couldn''t look him in the eyes, possibly out of guilt. She pretended to stayposed in front of

Ayan, not showing any signs of panic to prevent him from seeing through her.

Her reaction, however, appeared crude and unconvincing in Ayan''s eyes. He didn''t seem to pay her

much attention. He spoke with indifference, "You have one chance to tell the truth, only one chance.

So, I''ll give you five minutes to consider."

Ayan''s words held a veiled threat, but Cora tried to feign ignorance, saying, "Ayan, I don''t know what

you''re talking about. Everything I''ve told you is the truth. I promise you, I understand that you don''t

believe anything I say anymore. Every word I say probably means nothing to you. But I still have to say

it. Right now, to you, I''m like an ant. I have no right to oppose you, so what''s the point?"

Cora attempted to portray herself as pitiful, hoping to elicit some empathy from Ayan. However, after

she finished speaking, Ayan''s expression remained unchanged. He looked at her with a cold gaze,

    devoid of any emotion.

He calmly asked, "How much time is left?"

This question was directed at Kian.

    Kian promptly replied, "Three minutes."

As Kian''s words came to an end, Cora became increasingly flustered. She eximed, "Ayan,

everything I said is true. Yes, I did try to escape, but I had no choice. I was forced into this situation.

This is not a ce for normal people. Even if I''ve made mistakes, you can''t treat me like this. What

    you''re doing is illegal."

Cora''s voice grew more intense, her tone rising. Her face reddened due to her heightened emotions.

However, her words had no impact on Ayan, who remained unresponsive. He simply stared at her, his

    expression cold and unforgiving.

It wasn''t until Kian said, "Mr. Simpson, the five-minute time limit is up," that the tension in the room

    reached its peak.

Upon hearing this, Cora''s anxiety became more evident. She pleaded, "Ayan, please spare me.

Consider our many years of rtionship. Now that even Austin is gone, I have nothing left. Give me a

    chance!"

Ayan''s tone remained indifferent as he said, "Are you finished?"

Cora fell silent, but her unease only grew. She stared at Ayan with uncertainty and fear. She was at a

loss for words and struggled to maintain herposure.

Ayan let out a light chuckle, his handsome face radiating a chilling coldness. He said, "You''re really

going to great lengths to deal with me, aren''t you? Trying to exaggerate things with Preston about

Camille and me not being divorced, is that your n?"

Cora found herself caught in the web of his words, her expression betraying a hint of guilt. She avoided

direct eye contact with Ayan and her voice trembled, "Ayan, I didn''t... How could I possibly contact

    Preston?"

Ayan''s smile remained cold, and his voice was icy as he said, "Of course, you couldn''t have contacted

Preston. After all, Preston is in no position to fulfill your demands right now. Your demands are merely

about money. So, why didn''t you contact me directly? Why did you have to personally call Camille and

tell her? Do you believe that I won''t punish you?"

He questioned her methodically, pushing her to reveal the truth. Cora was left speechless, and her

anxiety grew more apparent. She looked at Ayan, then at Kian, her eyes darting back and forth. Her

voice trembled as she begged, "Ayan, please spare me. I don''t know what you''re talking about. I don''t

    understand. Please, spare me!"
