Chapter 833

    Chapter 833

She looked like an olddy who had just stepped off the stage of a rural theater. Her once exquisite

makeup was gone, as was her elegant demeanor. The high heels she wore were probably stained with

dirt, so now she wore disposable slippers provided by the hotel.

Her height had dropped about seven or eight centimeters and her body proportions had be

somewhat distorted. She used to always wear high heels, and her long and slender legs made it hard

to believe that this was the body of a woman in her forties or almost fifty.

Now... she looked average at best.

But it must be admitted that her facial features were quite good-looking. Even though she was getting

older and wasn''t wearing any makeup, she still looked pretty good. Her skin was well-maintained too.

However, Tyrell usually saw her looking morous even when they were at home together; she would

wear luxurious silk pajamas even then! When did she ever dress so cheaply? Especially after seeing

how disheveled she looked earlier--it left a deep impression on Tyrell--now seeing her look like an old

But he managed to suppress it and stiffly said, "Let''s go." He didn''t hold Mrs. Maskelyne''s hand as he

used to do before, but instead walked ahead with an indifferent expression.

Mrs. Maskelyne''s outstretched hand froze halfway through its motion; she couldn''t react for a moment.

Everyone could see how loving they used to be towards each other, including Franklin, Sylvia, and

many others who knew about their strong bond. But now...

Mrs. Maskelyne felt suffocated in her heart but didn''t directly ask Tyrell anything; instead, she followed

him silently. The group of ck-clothed men, along with reporters, also followed them down two

elevators. Sylvia and Franklin happily returned to their room, while Jasper yawned tiredly after watching

such drama for so long. He could finally rest now.

Arge group of people got into several police cars, which then roared towards the police station. Tyrell

contacted his subordinates who had been sent undercover in Franklin & Sylvia''s room. "Did you get it?"

His subordinate quickly replied, "No, I searched every inch of the room, but there is no trace of that

    painting."

Tyrell''s chest began to ache again. "How is that possible? Franklin and Sylvia were outside the whole

time, Franklin was in a bathrobe and Sylvia was wearing casual clothes, there was nowhere for them to

hide the painting. How is it not there?"

The henchman looked embarrassed as he searched countless times. He searched until he felt dizzy,

but still couldn''t find the painting. The room wasn''t that big either, yet he even went into Jasper''s room

to search and still found nothing.

"I even checked Jasper''s room, there really isn''t that painting," he said.

Tyrell became angry with him. "Useless!"

He squinted his eyes and looked at Mrs. Maskelyne again but the police were in the car with them so

he didn''t dare say anything directly to her. Instead, Tyrell sent her a message on Facebook. "Honey, do

    you have the painting?"

Mrs. Maskelyne heard her phone beep and after seeing Tyrell''s message she frowned slightly. "How

    could I possibly have it?"

Tyrell turned pale with anger; this idiot hadn''t even bothered to check? "You were in the room for so

    long just taking a shower?"

Mrs. Maskelyne retorted angrily, "I smell horrible! I''ve been taking showers this whole time! Do you

think I would run out naked looking for a painting?"

She was also deeply upset because when they got into the car earlier, Tyrell didn''t help her as he

usually did, which further fueled her anger.

Now, she felt disheartened to hear Tyrell''s aggressive tone, seemingly without any concern or care for

her feelings or what she had been through earlier in the day.

"How did you talk when we got married? You promised me that you would treat me well forever! Take

care of me! But all I did was make one mistake and now you don''tfort me or care about me

anymore! You''re disgusted by me too, aren''t you? Do you think I can''t see it?"

Mrs. Maskelyne unleashed all her pent-up frustration towards Tyrell, venting about Sylvia''s past

bullying, as well as everything else that had been bothering her since they got married years ago. This

included the burden of taking care of Franklin despite his outrageous behavior, which ultimately led to

the tragic loss of their two daughters.

She couldn''t hold back anymore and let everythinge pouring out.

Mrs. Maskelyne vented and spewed venomous words at him relentlessly, even mentioning their two

daughters who had passed away years ago.

"How did Makena die?" he asked coldly. "Have you already forgotten? And now, here we are, arguing

over the loss of our two daughters!"

"She was killed by Franklin!" Tyrell quickly replied to Mrs. Maskelyne in the police car, arguing furiously

    on Facebook.

Their fingers tapped away at their phone keyboards as they typed.

"It was clearly you who killed her!" Mrs. Maskelyne raged like a madwoman, ignoring everything else.

"She was our only daughter and you killed her!"

"What nonsense are you spouting?" Tyrell''s anger reached its boiling point. "All these years of spoiling

and pampering you, you forget who you are? You must be out of your mind!"

"That human trafficker was arranged by you! We agreed not to involve Makena, yet what happened?

She fell off a cliff! Andter, Laney cloned Makena using her DNA! Maybe others might not know, but

do you think I don''t? It''s been years, and Makena has always been a constant source of pain for me."

"I wanted to transfer all the love I had for her onto Laney, but no matter how hard I tried, it just didn''t

work! You never even cared about your own daughter because of Franklin, and now look at how you

    treat me!"

Mrs. Maskelyne couldn''t bear the thought of her daughter, and tears streamed down her face as she

    spoke.

After venting her anger at Tyrell, she stopped looking at her phone altogether.

Instead, she stared nkly out the window into the dark night sky, with sparse stars faintly shining

above them. Suddenly, she felt like such a failure in life.

What had she been pursuing all this time with Tyrell? Had it all been his vague ambitions?

And what had trulye out of all that research?

She had devoted herself entirely to researching things, only to realize that in the end, nothing

With tears in her eyes, she bitterlyughed, refusing Tyrell''s attempt to offerfort by reaching out his

hand, silently protesting against him instead.

Just as he prepared to reach out again, the police car screeched to a halt outside their destination. One

by one, everyone stepped out for the police to take their statements, methodically piecing together the

events until dawn broke once more.

Tyrell paid off some reporters andpensated others before finally putting an end to this whole

ordeal, leaving the cameras shattered beyond recognition, thus bringing closure to this news story once

    and for all...

In the end, both sides reached a significant reconciliation. After a sleepless night of tossing and turning,

everyone was utterly exhausted, cking the energy to continue arguing. They went their separate

    ways.

The next morning, as Sylvia expected, there was no news aboutst night''s events in the newspapers

or online. It was as if Mrs. Maskelyne''s ridiculous incident never happened.

Sylvia woke up early as usual and prepared to meet Alby. The headquarters of Secretly, Greatly were

located in a very secluded ce in Urgford, and when she left, Franklin was still sleeping.

She didn''t disturb him but left alone. Because it was only seven o''clock in the morning, there were few

people on the street except for some elderly people doing morning exercises in the park.

She hailed a taxi and directed the driver to the address. After about an hour, the car came to a slow

stop, and she opened her eyes to settle the fare before exiting the vehicle as it pulled away.

As she watched the taxi disappear from sight, she turned in a different direction, away from the upscale

vis in Urgford''s prestigious residential area, home to many esteemed figures showcasing their

    affluence.

Just outside this opulent enve, at the edge of an unassuming building, Sylvia paused and stood with

her feet together. She then slightly raised one foot to activate the hidden fingerprint scanner, an

unexpected feature in such an elegant residential setting. Secretly Great''s presence within thisvish

neighborhood was not something anyone would have anticipated; it seemed more fitting for an office

building or a less affluent location.

Upon recognizing her fingerprints, the door to the vi clicked open without hesitation. Sylvia entered

confidently, showing no signs of hesitation or trepidation. In the courtyard, a charming flower bed and a

patch of vegetables exuded a tranquil, rustic atmosphere.

As she approached the door leading to the living room, it suddenly swung open, startling her. A young

woman, adorned with soft, delicate features, regarded her with surprise and inquired, "Who are you?"

Sylvia arched an eyebrow as she observed the woman, who possessed exquisite almond-shaped

eyes, elegantly groomed eyebrows, a petite nose, creating an overall picture of wless perfection.

"Zero?" Alby''s voice came from behind, sounding surprised. "Why are you here?"

He anticipated that Sylvia woulde over soon, but he didn''t expect her to arrive so quickly.

"Hey, how''s the research on that painting going?" Sylvia stepped over to Alby and casually ced her

    bag down.

"What? Zero? Alby, no way! She''s Zero?" The woman''s eyes almost popped out of her head. "How is

that possible? A girl? And so young?"

She scrutinized Sylvia up and down. "And she''s so beautiful too. Wait a minute... why do I feel like I''ve

    seen this face before?"
