Chapter 652 Bending the Truth
"Let''s call for an ambnce before we leave. We don''t know how badly injured they are, and it''s
pouring right now. They''ll die if they stay out here until tomorrow!" Sherry said.
"They deserved what they got. If we get an ambnce toe here, we''ll only be exposing ourselves.
Who cares if a bunch of punks like them die?" Tom refuted.
"I think Mom''s right, Tom. If they die, you''ll be a killer. Why don''t you go to the authorities instead?
"They''ll be more lenient on you for turning yourself in. Maybe you''ll only get a light punishment," Cecilia
suggested. She knew a thing or two about thew.
"What are you saying? They''re the ones who knocked into you guys first. Everything I did was to
protect you. That''s called justifiable defense.
"They''re the ones whomitted a crime. Why should I turn myself in?" Tom said somewhat
exasperatedly.
Why were they making him out to be a killer?
"This isn''t the right ce for us to talk about this. Let''s just leave first," Miranda said.
She knew full well just how troublesome this situation was. It would be better if they left and discussed
their next move at length.
"Well, let''s go home first, then. We can take our time to discuss what we can do." Sherry agreed with a
nod.
Tom brought Sherry''s bicycle over.
Even though it got hit by a car, it was still functioning.
Two of them got into the sidecar, and all four of them hurried back home.
Once Tom and the others were gone, ke''s twockeys exhaled in relief and hastily scrambled back
on their feet.
"ke!" they both shouted when they saw the motionless ke.
s, he didn''t respond.

"Is ke dead?" one of the men, Uriah Larkin, eximed in a panic.
"That''s impossible. ke''s just knocked out cold. Let''s take him to the hospital now and get his injuries
checked," the other man, Scott Corden, said.
"Why don''t we call the authorities and get them to handle this? Don''t they always say it''s important to
preserve the crime scene?" Uriah suggested.
"Why are you being so ridiculous? Why do you want to call the authorities?" Scott snapped.
He never realized how much of a fool Uriah was. Why did he suggest calling the authorities?
"What of it? How am I being ridiculous?" Uriah asked in confusion.
"If the authorities get here, they''ll find out that ke was driving under the influence. They''ll also find
out we hit someone. You sure you want the authorities to find out the truth?" Scott said.
"Does that mean we''re just going to let them get away with what they did to ke?" Uriah asked.
"kees from a powerful background. I''m sure he can catch them," Scott said.
"Alright, then. We''ll just take ke to the hospital for a checkup," Uriah conceded.
"Well, don''t just stand there! Help me!" Scott said.
The two men hauled ke into the back seat of his Maybach.
Apart from a broken headlight, the Maybach was fully functioning.
Along the way, Scott instructed Uriah, "Call Mr. Jessop right away and tell him what happened to
ke."
"Got it. I''ll do it right now," Uriah replied before making the call.
Fergus had just gotten home when he received the call from Uriah. After seeing who it was, he decided
to take the call.
"Yes?" Fergus asked.
"I had bad news, Mr. Jessop! Someone beat up ke, and he''s now unconscious!" Uriah reported.
"What? Really? Who had the nerve to beat my son up?" Fergus eximed in shock.
"We got into an ident with a mother-daughter duo. Their bicycle was banged up, and one of the
Maybach''s headlights broke, too. We wanted to get them to pay for the damages, but we got into an
argument…"
Uriah dared not tell the whole truth.
"What happened next?" Fergus asked.
"A man and a woman appeared. I think they''re rted to the mother-daughter duo. Anyway, the man
started punching ke.
"We tried our best to shield ke, but we got knocked out, too. By the time we woke up, ke was
unconscious and covered in blood," Uriah said.
Fergus was outraged. "What the hell? How dare they lift a finger against ke?"
"ke even told them who he was and mentioned you, too, but that bastard ignored him and started
punching him!" Uriah told a selective version of the truth.
"Such arrogance! That punk''s got a death wish!" Fergus was even more furious.
"That''s right! How dare he disregard you? He''s far too arrogant!" Uriah agreed.
"Hang on. Didn''t you say you got knocked out? How do you know what they said, then?" Fergus asked
in puzzlement.
Uriah froze. He''d be screwed if Fergus found out he only pretended to be unconscious.
"I was just barely conscious. I couldn''t move, but I could still hear what was happening around me,"
Uriah exined.
"Who''s the guy who hit ke? Where is he now?" Fergus questioned.
"They''ve fled. I don''t know where they are," Uriah said.
"You know what he looks like, right?" Fergus checked.
"Of course! I''ll definitely be able to recognize him if I see him again!" Uriah replied.
"That''ll do. As long as I know what he looks like, I''ll be able to locate him. Are ke''s injuries serious?"
Fergus asked concernedly.
"ke is still unconscious. Scott and I are taking him to the hospital right now. Pleasee over, Mr.
Jessop," Uriah said.
"I got it. I''m heading over right now," Fergus said before ending the call.
Lacey Andrews, Fergus'' wife, asked, "What''s going on, dear?"
"Someone just beat ke up," Fergus said with a long exhale.
"What? What happened? Who had the nerve to do a thing like that?" Lacey asked.
"We don''t know who did it yet, but Uriah said he knows what the guy looks like. I''ll definitely find a way
to find that bastard," Fergus growled.
"We must find him and teach him a lesson he''ll never forget! But how''s ke doing?" Lacey asked.
"He''s unconscious. Uriah and Scott are taking him to the hospital. Let''s head over now," Fergus said.
He had his driver take him and Lacey to the hospital.
…
Meanwhile, Tom and the others got back to Sherry''s ce.
Throughout the ride, Sherry felt a sense of dread—as if something bad was about to happen.
"I''ve got a bad feeling, Tom. You and Miranda need to leave Churron at once," Sherry said.
