Chapter 451 Money or His Life
Matteo had heard of Caspian before. His father, Chandler, had said that it was Caspian who killed
Alfred, the Kane family''s senior protector.
Alfred had been the family''s pir of strength with his formidable power, and his death dealt a crushing
blow to the family.
"I''ve been looking for you! You''ve got quite the nerve toe walking to your doom!" Matteo guffawed
before scowling ferociously at Caspian.
"Get him, men! You''re going to die today, Caspian! Men? Come here!"
Matteo kept calling out, but nothing happened. He started feeling uneasy.
"Don''t bother yelling. All of your men have been knocked down," Caspian said coolly.
"That''s impossible! You''re lying to me! There are hundreds of them! They couldn''t have all died!"
Matteo roared in disbelief.
His men were all trained fighters. How could they have been defeated so easily?
Matteo rushed out, only to see the bodies scattered across the yard as soon as he stepped outside.
The choking stench of blood permeated the air.
Legs giving way, Matteo crumpled to the ground in horror.
Who was Caspian? How could he be this powerful?
These fighters had yed a big role in helping the Kanes establish themselves in Enies, but now, they
were all gone!
"You fiend! You''re a demon! I''m going to kill you!" Matteo fumed as he stood up and glowered at
Caspian.
Grabbing a de, he lunged at Caspian.
A muffled thump rang out, and Matteo stumbled backward. Sylvia had kicked him away.
"How dare a useless piece of trash like you try toy your hands on Caspian?" Sylvia scoffed derisively.
She wouldn''t let a guy like Matteo even get close to Caspian.
Slumped on the ground, Matteo was dumbstruck. It felt as if the kick had broken a few of his ribs.
An armored soldier went over to untie Landon.
"Mr. Lynch!" Landon cried out between sobs. "You came just in time! Anyter, and I might''ve died …"
He really thought he was about to die.
Landon had suffered quite a lot in Enies. He had never been in such dangerous situations before.
"Cut it out," Caspian snapped. He was annoyed by the sight of the injured Landon crying himself silly.
Landon quickly wiped his tears away.
"You did well. I''ll ask Willow to give you a raise and a promotion once we return. You''ll be in charge of
the southern market!" Caspian said.
"Thank you, Mr. Lynch!" Landon eximed in joy.
By bing the person in charge of Soutke Corporation''s operations in the southern market, he
would have a brilliant future ahead of him.
"And now, I''m giving you a chance to take your revenge on him for tormenting you!" Caspian said
coldly.
Sylvia kicked the iron whip over to Landon.
Pushing through the pain, Landon picked up the iron whip and red balefully at Matteo.
Thanks to that bastard, he had been beaten to a pulp.
If Caspian had arrived anyter, Landon would''ve died at the hands of Matteo''s men.
"What are you doing? I''m Matteo Kane, the son of the Kane family! If you eveny a finger on me,
you''re a goner!"
Matteo was filled with fear the moment he saw Landon approaching, but no one was around to help
him.
"You bastard!" Landon shouted as he raised the whip and brought it down hard.
Matteo howled in agony, his face contorting. He didn''t expect the whipping to be so painful.
Landon whipped Matteo over and over again, all the while sneering.
"Aren''t you supposed to be so fucking powerful?
"Weren''t you going to beat me to death?
"Well,e on, then! Let me see how you''re going to do it now!"
Landon vented all of his pent-up fury as he gave Matteo a furiousshing. After dozens of shes,
Matteo was covered in wounds.
"Stop! Please stop! I''m going to die if you don''t!" Matteo begged.
"Aren''t you the high and mighty son of the Kane family? Why are you begging for mercy like a pathetic
loser?" Landon snorted ruthlessly.
Matteo couldn''t respond.
Meanwhile, Caspian smirked as he witnessed the scene.
He knew Landon was only acting this way because he had been pushed too far.
All along, Landon had been an upright and decent man. s, when someone like that was pushed to
the brink, there was no telling what they would do.
All of a sudden, the phone on the couch started ringing.
Caspian picked it up and took the call.
The anxious voice of an older man came through the phone.
"Matteo, how are things going on your end?"
"I assume you''re Chandler Kane?" Caspian remarked.
When Chandler heard a voice that didn''t belong to Matteo answering him, he got a bad feeling.
"Who are you?"
"Have you forgotten about me already, Mr. Kane Senior? You wanted to kill me in the past. This is
Caspian Lynch," Caspian replied in amusement.
"Caspian Lynch? Where''s my son? What did you do to him?" Chandler shouted. He figured that his son
was in danger.
"Calm down, Mr. Kane Senior. Your son''s still alive, though I''m not sure how much longer," Caspian
said with a chuckle.
"Dad! Help! Save me!" Matteo screamed at the top of his lungs.
"Matteo! Are you alright?" Chandler shouted urgently.
"Where are you, Dad? Come and save me! They''re going to kill me! Argh—"
"Who said you could speak?" Landon snarled as he whipped Matteo a couple more times.
Matteo clenched his jaw and stayed quiet.
"Caspian, if you dare to continue hurting my son, I''ll kill you!" Chandler roared. He was brimming with
rage. Matteo was his only son.
Chandler didn''t expect Caspian to act this quickly.
If anything happened to Matteo, Chandler would lose all will to live, too.
"He''s fine now, Mr. Kane Senior, but I can''t promise he''ll live much longer if you don''te over."
"What the hell do you want, Caspian?" Chandler growled.
"My demand is a simple one. I want the Kane family to withdraw from the business market in Enies. If
you do that, your son will be fine. You can choose between your son''s life and your business in Enies,"
Caspian dered with a smile.
"I …"
Chandler was at a loss.
He couldn''t believe that Caspian was asking him to give up on his business in Eniespletely.
A majority of the Kane family''s resources came from Enies. Without the city as its source of revenue,
the family''s prestige would go down a notch.
Furthermore, Jyn had given clear orders to Chandler. He was to fend off Soutke Corporation at all
costs. He would be doomed if he willingly handed over the business market in Enies.

"Is that so? That means you don''t care about your son''s life, right?" Caspian said as he gestured at
Landon.
Landon got the message and started whipping Matteo once more.
"Dad! Save me! I don''t want to die! Just hand Enies over to them! Otherwise, I''m going to die!"
Matteo rolled on the ground in pain as the whip repeatedly shed against his skin.
