C14 – Saving People
The superiority of a valuable and rare beast was strikingly apparent. The Crazy Lion’s gically evolved strength allowed it to effortlessly send the green wolf tumbling away with a mere swipe of its w. In contrast, Pei Xiaobo’s Prism Spike barely prated half an inch into the Crazy Lion’s flesh, a testament to its incredibly resilient muscles.
Upon being pierced by the de, the Crazy Lion’s eyes instantly reddened with fury. With a forceful strike, it sent Pei Xiaobo, despite his human agility, hurtling through the air. He crashed against a tree some ten meters distant, his bones feeling as if they were shattered.
“Boss!”
The rest of the team, consumed by rage, drew their pistols and unleashed a hail of bullets on the Crazy Lion. Yet the bullets did little more than pierce its hide; they couldn’t bring down the beast. The Crazy Lion lunged, eyes aze with bloodlust.
Facing a valuable and rare mutant beast was perilous, even for these elite special forces.
“Kid, run for it! We can’t look out for you anymore. Get as far away as you can. If you make it back to the city, you have to inform the Inspection Agency that someone’s unleashing a beast tide to besiege the city!”
Ni Xinyu, his eyes bloodshot with desperation, drew his short knife and charged at the Crazy Lion, bellowing, “Monster!”
Seeing Pei Xiaobo knocked aside, the others, driven by frenzy, threw themselves at the Crazy Lion.
The man in ck, his face visible beneath his cloak, wore a look of unmasked scorn. With a casual flick of his finger, the Crazy Lion viciously wed and bit at them, as if he were the puppeteer behind its savagery.
Jiao Yuanju watched the struggle unfold, his heart drowning in a tide of fear and anger. Mutant Beasts were formidable, which is why humans had sought to harness them. Yet, they had failed to realize that these mighty creatures were the very adversaries of humanity, the harbingers of death that barred their race from expanding into broader realms. Were they all doomed to perish?
Eoldrai’s emerald scales shimmered with increasing vibrancy. Yet, despite this, the enhancement serum didn’t seem to trigger a second evolution.

Jiao Yuanju felt a twinge of disappointment. The word “iplete” told him all he needed to know—Eoldrai hadn’t undergone a second evolution. But it made sense; earning twenty blood points wasn’t a tall order. If Eoldrai were to evolve again so effortlessly, he might not even believe it himself.
“Rare? Realization? Eoldrai has a new skill? What is this ability?”
Jiao Yuanju’s eyes were fierce as he watched the melee unfolding before him with the Crazy Lion. Though he feared death, his humanity wouldn’t allow him to stand by. These people must not die!
The Crazy Lion let out a furious roar. The group was bloodied and battered, now sprawled on the ground. They stared in astonishment at the green snaketched onto the Crazy Lion.
The man in the ck robe red at Jiao Yuanju with venomous hatred and snarled, “You little punk, you dare to interfere? Then you can die too!”
The ck-robed man lunged at Jiao Yuanju with ghostly speed.
Jiao Yuanju turned and ran, well aware that although these people might be strong, they were no match for his Eoldrai in this situation. He had to create a diversion!
“Where do you think you’re going? Get back here!”
Pei Xiaobo, bloodied and struggling to his feet, watched in shock as the ck-robed man pursued Jiao Yuanju.
The others caught their breath as the green snake relentlessly circled and struck at the Crazy Lion. Its speed was blinding, leaving the lion no chance to retaliate against the group.
Atst, the Crazy Lion emitted a pitiful cry and copsed, its body turning ck—a clear sign of snake venom. Eoldrai’s venom had grown more potent since advancing to the rare level.
The green snake spared no nce for the fallen; it darted into the underbrush, swiftly following Jiao Yuanju’s trail.
A few individuals clutched their wounds and huddled around Pei Xiaobo, their voicesced with panic as they asked, “What do we do now?”
These people were both moved and terrified. They had not anticipated that in their moment of dire need, a mere teenager would courageouslye to their rescue. The capabilities of the man in the ck robe remained enigmatic, yet his control over the Crazy Lion—a valuable and rare Mutant Beast—suggested he was no less than an elite Combat Pet Master.
Regaining hisposure, Pei Xiaobo gritted his teeth andmanded, “Jing Le, you’re with me. Everyone else, head back to Krukshire immediately and brief our superiors on the situation. It’s highly probable that he’s already drawing the beast tide here. Clearly, there’s a human orchestrating this crisis!”
“Understood!”
Pei Xiaobo and Jing Le quickly fashioned bandages from their torn clothing, then, armed with their military knives and guns, they charged into the jungle.
Jiao Yuanju’s stamina was impressive; he had been sprinting for miles, pursued by the ck-robed man.
In a fit of rage, the ck-robed man flung a dagger at Jiao Yuanju!
A surge of adrenaline spurred Jiao Yuanju to instinctively dive to the side, narrowly avoiding the de as it whizzed by his head.
Drenched in a cold sweat and ashen-faced, Jiao Yuanju was nearly paralyzed with fear. Despite his intelligence, he was still just a sixteen-year-old boy. Out here, far from the safety of the city, in the deste wilderness, someone was truly out to end his life.
