The nurse smiled as soon as she noticed where Susan was watching, "The doctor has met two
patients suffering high fever today, you and that gentleman inside. He''s febrile to 104. There is a lot of
flu because the temperature has plummeted. Do remember to take care."
It appeared that she wasn''t the only one suffering from fever.
After a while, with the help of the nurse, Susan started to have an infusion after taking some pills. In the
next room, Manuel was already awake and he sat up to work on hisptop.
Susan had a phobia of pain. So she screamed fiercely when the needle went through her skin.
Manuel suddenly stopped typing. But then, he continued with his work with a straight face.
Lying in bed, Susan was haunted by boredom.
She didn''t feel like sleeping. What was worse, watching TV and ying on her phone both failed to
dissipate the dizziness lingering in her head.
Sick and ill, she slouched in the bed, greatly regretting.
Sighing, she was about to make a call to Hannah. But then her phone suddenly rang.
"Henry?" Susan picked it up.
"Have you been to the hospital?"
"Yes, I am having an infusion."
"I have finished my work. I aming to you."

Half an hourter, Henry walked into the room.
He felt so sorry when seeing Susan''s haggard face, "Sorry, Susan, I should have stayed…"
"It''s okay. Just forget about what happenedst night. It was your birthday. You have the final say."
Susan interrupted.
Henry held back what he was about to say.
He took her hands, "Susan, trust me. Give me some time, okay?"
"Okay." Susan nodded.
She had never doubted him. Sometimes she was just confused.
"Henry, I want some sleep." Susan changed the subject.
"Okay, I will be with you."
Susan smiled and started lying down.
Henry hurried over to help her steady.
Noticing that she was wearing too many clothes, Henry suggested, "Why don''t you take off some
clothes? It''s warm here with the central heating plus the quilt. I am afraid it will slow down your
recovery if you sweat too much."
Susan nodded. But suddenly, she shook her head because it urred to her that she got hickeys on
her neck.
She needed those clothes to cover them up. So she hurried to say, "No, I am cold."

Henry didn''t insist. Then he helped her lie down.
Susan thought it might take her some time to fall asleep. But soon, she fell into a deep sleep after she
closed her eyes.
Perhaps she felt hot, so she gave a tug on her clothes out of instinct.
Noticing her forehead started sweating, Henry bent over to help take off her clothes.
As soon as he removed her coat, he saw those marks on her fair neck.
Soon, he turned deadly livid with his fists clenching so hard that they turned pale.
Nothing happened between them in the restaurantst night. So the truth was clear. He could imagine
what might have happened next.
His anger was burning even though he struggled to suppress it.
He was also rather distraughtst night, just like Susan. If it weren''t because of the shares, he wouldn''t
have turned her down.
He was overwhelmed with hatred.
Now he could do nothing about it after he noticed those hickeys.
However, he found it hard to pretend that he saw nothing. Nor could he break up with Susan. After all,
he needed to take advantage of her to get the Phillips Bank.
But he couldn''t quench the anger out of the nature of a man.
He got to admit that he did love Susan a lot.

It was Henry who woke her up.
He told her that the infusion bag was empty while he was pinching the tube.

"It''s afternoon. Are you hungry? Let me take you to dine." Said Henry warmly as usual.
Susan was surprised to know that she had slept for hours till the afternoon. But it did make sense. After
all, she stayed up overnightst night while what happened between her and Manuel had been shing
in her mind.
Whatever, she got to forget about it.
Then Henry and she left the room.
While walking past the room next door, she cast a nce inside.
But then she was shocked.
Henry noticed her change.
They saw Manuel''s blood start flowing back into the empty infusion bag, but he was still sleeping while
leaning on the headboard.
Susan rushed over to wake him up, "Hey, wake up! The infusion bag is empty!"
Manuel opened his eyes and saw her pale face mixed with panic.
Then he turned to look at the infusion bag.
He just leaned on the headboard to rest after finishing his work. He told the nurse to go because he
didn''t want to be interrupted. And he said he would ring the call bell when he finished the infusion.
But he didn''t expect that he would have slept for hours.
Manuel simply ignored how worried she appeared. He casually pressed the button to ring the bell and
said, "The infusion bag is empty and some of my blood flows back."
"We will be right away."
Soon, the nurse came in to handle the blood issue.
Worried, Susan stood aside to watch, with Henry standing next to her.
He simply stared at both of them coldly.
Then, he even noticed the hickeys on Manuel''s neck.
They shared both fever and hickeys.
At the thought of that, Henry couldn''t help clenching his fists.
Soon, the nurse finished her work and kept on apologizing.
Manuel said it was okay.
He stood up and grabbed his overcoat and scarf to put on. Then he left with hisptop.
He didn''t say a word to Susan, not even paying a nce and saying a "Thank you".
He appeared even more friendly to the nurse than to her.
Susan was rather upset. Watching his back, she felt like she should have left him alone and let the tube
suck him dry.
She thought she was bringing herself trouble.
"Come on, let''s go." Henry hugged her.
Not until then did she notice that Henry was standing next to her.
She seemed a bit distraught.
"He won''t say thanks to you." Henry smiled softly.
Swallowing, she felt like her feelings for these two guys seemed to have changed.
