    Chapter 1102

Chapter 1102 Not To Be Trifled With

"To you," Artemis replied without hesitation.

Rolling her eyes, Bailey scolded, "Don''t move. Just sit still."

Artemis pursed his lips, feeling a tingling sensation on his scalp.

If I had known this would happen, I wouldn''t have gotten into the car.

He secretly wished she wouldsh out at him, punching and kicking. However, he struggled to handle

    her current state.

Seeing him in such a deste state, Bailey couldn''t help butugh.

She tossed the red silk brocade on herp aside and leaned over to unbutton his shirt.

Throughout it all, her greatest concern was his chest wound.

Although she only caught a fleeting nce at the hot spring, her medical skills allowed her to instantly

assess the severity of his injuries.

The wound was close to his heart, and even a slight mishap could lead to a sudden cardiac arrest with

    no hope of resuscitation.

When her cool fingertips touched his skin, Artemis shivered slightly, his nerves on edge.

Knowing him all too well, Bailey saw through him effortlessly.

Seeing him in such a state, she scoffed sarcastically, "It''s only been a week since west met, yet

you''re already ufortable with my touch, Mr. Luther? It seems like you''re getting along well with

your confidant. Did my visit to Zaewora disrupt you two? Should I go back?"

Artemis remained silent, not daring to utter a word.

Speaking more at this time would only lead to more mistakes. It would be foolish to put himself in the

line of fire and create trouble for himself.

However, when he saw her removing his shirt to check his injuries, he breathed a sigh of relief.

As long as he wasn''t tormented in that agonizing manner, he wasn''t afraid of anything.

"This wound was from a bullet. It wasn''t my doing. It was their sniper, so you can''t me me. When I

believe me, take a closer look."

With a cold huff, Bailey reached out and pressed down on the wound.

Instantly, a wave of intense pain washed over him, causing him to convulse violently.

Bailey observed his physical reactions, assessing the extent of his injuries through his instinctive

    movements.

Luckily, his heart wasn''t injured. Although the wound appearedrge, it only damaged the blood

vessels. With the application of some hemostatic medicine, it would heal over time.

"How did you know I needed your cooperation to put on an act?"

At the hot spring, she deliberately spoke vaguely and ambiguously to mislead Faceless into believing

her scheme had seeded, causing her to lower her guard.

She initially thought Artemis wouldn''t cooperate with her so easily, as few could remain calm in such a

    situation.

    But he proved her wrong.

With every question she asked, he responded ordingly, his betrayal evident between the lines.

As for the p she gave him, it was purely because she saw him mutting himself. In her anger, she

    couldn''t help but smack him.

Artemis reached out and held Bailey''s hand, genuinely worried she might jab at his wound again in her

    emotional state.

    Truly, it hurt badly.

"I saw through Faceless'' scheme, so the moment you rushed in and started speaking, I knew what you

were up to. You wanted to stir things up, so I naturally had to y along unconditionally, Wifey. How

was it? I put on a good act, huh?"

With a cold snort, Bailey grabbed a medical kit from the side. She picked up a pair of tweezers, soaked

them in alcohol, and inserted them into his wound.

    The pain was indescribable.

Sweat poured down Artemis'' forehead like a faucet. His voice trembled as he asked, "W-Wifey, could

    you give me some anesthesia?"

Bailey nced at the tweezers in her hand, then at his handsome face, contorted in pain. She asked

with confusion, "You''re afraid of pain?"

    Artemis was speechless.

I''m not made of iron, for crying out loud. How could I possibly be unafraid of pain?

However, he didn''t dare voice those words. He wasn''t a coward, but if he did say it, she would definitely

bring up the incident of him mutting himself at the hot spring and settle the score with him.

He was scared, for she was truly not to be trifled with.

Bailey turned him around so that he faced away from her.

At the sight of the symmetrical bullet hole on his broad shoulder, her gaze darkened suddenly.

I''m going to settle this score sooner orter.

Another wave of excruciating pain swept over Artemis, nearly draining all the strength from his body.

He weakly leaned against the back of the car seat, panting heavily.

Bailey initially wanted to teach him a lesson, but she ultimately couldn''t bear to see him in such severe

pain. She retrieved a dose of painkiller and injected it into him.

The medicine was incredibly potent. In no time, he could no longer feel the pain.

Bailey had Cassius turn on the car interior lights and began stitching his wound.

She had been doing embroidery so muchtely that she had almost forgotten how to stitch.

After several attempts, she finally got the hang of it.

Even though Artemis couldn''t feel the pain anymore, he could still sense her stitching and unstitching

repeatedly. He couldn''t help but chuckle bitterly deep within.

Indeed, one should never offend a woman lightly, or the consequences would be dire.

"Sorry, it''s been a while since Ist stitched a wound. My technique might be a bit rusty. It might leave a

    scar."

Artemis reached out and put on his shirt, his voice gentle as he said, "It''s all right. After all, no one else

    but you will see it."

    Words escaped Bailey.

Ignoring him, she sat back in her seat and resumed tinkering with the brocade beside her.

Artemis cleared his throat and smiled. "Wifey, why didn''t you tell me you wereing to Zaewora? If I

had known you were arriving tonight, I wouldn''t have taken on that nuisance of a mission, and none of

    this mess would have happened."

Without lifting her head, Bailey asked casually, "So, you''re ming me for being set up?"

"No, no, not at all," Artemis quickly reassured. "I feel somewhat guilty for not picking you up from the

airport when you arrived in Zaewora."

Smirking, Bailey said, "Since you feel guilty, why don''t you tell me about your rtionship with

Reba? My intuition tells me that your past with her is fascinating, worth exploring for anyone,

    including me."

Artemis'' expression froze for a moment, and he hesitated.

Even if I want to be honest with her, I need to find the right moment. The timing right now is just terrible.

She''s still angry. If I tell her I''m The Exterminator, wouldn''t that make her extremely angry? The reason

the Saviors struggled to make progress back then and found it hard to establish themselves in the

industry, suffering countless deaths and injuries, was because of my resistance. If this information gets

    out, there will be chaos.

"Reba and I used to be friends. We knew each other well, but I never had any romantic feelings for

    her."

    Bailey inwardly chuckled.

Even in this critical situation, he''s still trying to deceive me. Can they really just be friends? If so, why

would Reba rely on him so much and constantly bother him?

"Is that so? You two even go on missions together and are always together. Are you really just friends?"

Artemis felt a twinge of guilt deep inside, but he remained firm, convinced that he couldn''t tell her the

truth, at least not at that moment.

"I didn''t n on teaming up with her initially, but she found out about the same information at the same

    time. I couldn''t stop her."

"Couldn''t stop her? In my opinion, you simply didn''t want to..."

At that point, Bailey''s words abruptly stopped. Narrowing her eyes at him, she asked, "She found out

about the information at the same time as you?"
