In a suite in a luxury hotel, Lynda scanned through thements section, seething in fury.
It was such a great scandal. Yet, Victoria unexpectedly managed to smooth things over with just a brief
statement. I''ve really underestimated her. Pampered and fragile, she''s always crying and making a fuss
at the slightest trouble, acting as though the world wasing to an end. I never thought she''d have

“Make sure they clean up any traces left behind. I don''t want Lionel to trace it back to me. Destroy what

In Zaewora, gunshots echoed intermittently around an earthen fort on the outskirts of the border city.
Artemis''s mission started off unfavorably, for he was ambushed by ck Puma''s men. A fierce battle
ensued between the two parties, resulting in countless casualties.
“Mr. Luther, I''ll cover you while you break out immediately. This is ck Puma''s territory, and staying
here will do us no good.”
Artemis gazed at the ruins around him. His expression was cold and distant, his eyes radiating a sharp
and solemn glint.
The investigative team from the Tarragon''s branch discovered that the son of Bailey''s master was
being held in that earthen fort. Since the information came from Tarragon, he had no reason to doubt it.
Unexpectedly, things did not turn out ordingly.
It would seem that there was a traitor within Tarragon''s Zaewora branch who fed him false information
with the intention of luring him into a trap to kill him.
“I can''t leave. If I do, dozens of ourrades will die.”
He couldn''t allow so many elites to fall there because of his mistake.

Ken was as anxious as ever.
If they were merely trapped, they could still fight their way out. Breaking out would at least allow half of
them to survive, preventing total annihtion.
But not only were they surrounded. They were also poisoned severely. Exhausted and weak, there was

“Now is not the time to be indecisive, Mr. Luther. You need to leave quickly. Otherwise, none of us will

Cameron sneered, “Do you think I came willingly? That Jefferson woman is simply wicked. She gave
me a goshawk in heat. Halfway, the d*mn thing flew into some female''s nest to incubate eggs. What
could I possibly do? Your woman suggested this rotten idea, urging me to try my luck here in Zaewora
to see if getting myself maimed could draw ze out. “Look at me now. I believed her lies and came
over without any defense, only to end up wounded everywhere. Aren''t I a pitiful sight now?”
Artemis looked him up and down beforementing seriously, “Not at all. Rather, you look like a fool.”
Words eluded Cameron.
He was so angry he was about to blow up, but Artemis quickly pulled him down to the ground.
“If you don''t want to die, keep quiet. There''s no one here to coddle you like your beloved ze. All
you''ll find here is the cold, dark muzzle of a gun. One wrong move, and you''ll be riddled with bullets.”
Cameron gazed up at the pitch-ck sky, a profound sense of despair swamping him.
“Give me the antidote.” Artemis unceremoniously held his hand out at the man.
Cameron was somewhat bewildered. “What antidote?”
Artemis looked at him as though he were an idiot, sneering, “Your only value is to deliver the antidote.
Otherwise, Bailey wouldn''t have brought you here to be a burden. Give me the antidote.”
Cameron was so angry that steam wasing out of his ears. “It turns out that I''m here to deliver the
antidote. Well, I really dide at just the right time.”
“It''s good that you have some self-awareness.”
At just that moment, another round of gunfire rang out outside.
Ken interjected, “There are peopleing over to back us up, Mr. Luther.”
Artemis narrowed his eyes slightly.
I brought all the elites from Tarragon''s branch here. Who else would send backup for me in Zaewora, a
country fragmented by various forces?
Seeing his confusion, Ken quickly rified, “It''s Reba, Commander Sutton.”
Artemis red at him coldly, scaring the man so much that he buried his head in the ground.
Beside him, Camerontched onto it. With a smirk, he drawled, “Reba, Interpol''s topmander.
Mr. Luther, you''re pretty lucky, huh? Even in this godforsaken ce, you have a beautiful woman
Artemis swiftly grabbed a handful of dirt and shoved it into his mouth, effectively silencing him. Then,
he rummaged through his pockets and tossed a few bottles to Ken.
“While they''re distracted outside, quickly have the others take the antidote. Then, we''ll fight our way out
and join forces with Reba, trapping and eliminating all these top assassins from ck Puma here.”
“Understood.”
With Cameron breaking the siege and the added backup from Reba, the tide of the battle
underwent a dramatic shift.
Amidst the ruins outside, Reba held up a heavy-caliber sniper rifle, resting a foot on a rock. She
looked at Artemis seductively, throwing a wink at him.
“I just saved your life, Artemis.”
Artemis wholly ignored her, ordering Ken to search the ruins to see if he could find any clues.
Reba added, “ck Puma is an exceedingly intelligent hunter, always nning meticulously.
Otherwise, I wouldn''t have failed so many times and asked you for a hand. Even though we nearly lost
the first round, luckily, we turned the tables around. You can''t underestimate your opponent next time,
okay?”
After she had said that, she hoisted her sniper rifle up and signaled to her subordinates. Then, she
turned around and walked toward the convoy.
She had barely taken two steps when she abruptly stopped and turned back with a smile. “I''m a
stranger in the Zaewora, so it''s better for me not to take any risks. I''ll stay with you for now, Artemis.”
Artemis shot her a sharp nce that carried a hint of warning.
Cameron sauntered over and slung an arm over his shoulder, arching an eyebrow. “Stay with you?
How suggestive. If Bailey learns about it, you''ll be in for it.”
Artemis delivered a sweeping palm strike thatnded squarely on his injured chest. The pain had the
man grimace.
After sessfully silencing Cameron, he stalked over to Reba, his voice cold as he said, “You''re
not needed here right now. Come back when it''s time to wrap things up.”
Reba tossed the rifle in her hand to a soldier nearby, then reached out and hugged his arm.
Artemis instinctively wanted to shake her off, but Reba warned him in a whisper, “If you continue
resisting, I''m going to call you Chief Luther. You gave the Saviors''s leader quite a hard time back then.
If Bailey learns about your identity, you''ll be in for it.”
At that, Artemis obediently lowered his arm.
Undeniably, he was scared.
In the past, he suppressed various underground forces with the identity of The Exterminator. The
Saviors, founded by Bailey, developed too quickly, and he didn''t hesitate to throw obstacles in her way.
She once dered that if The Exterminator were to fall into her hands, she would definitely reduce the
man to pieces.
It was only when heter resigned and his identity unused that she couldn''t track him down.
Thus, he was most likely to keep that alias of his secret for the rest of his life.
