In the study of the Shurmer residence, Zeke was engaged in a conversation with Steven.
Steven asked, “I heard that you were ambushed on the way here, and Raiden sent his troops to save
you. What happened? Why would someone want to kill Bay?”
He knew Bailey disliked him and dared not approach her. However, he had been feeling unsettled for
the past few days.

Right then, Bailey pushed the door to the study open and walked in.
“How did it go? Is the baby safe?” Steven asked urgently.
Instead of answering him, Bailey gave him a frosty look.
Steven shed an awkward smile and rose from his seat, preparing to head out. “I think I''ll take a look
for myself. It''s probably best if you all remain here and continue talking. Stay for lunchter, all right?”
After watching him leave, Zeke arched a brow and asked, “What''s going on?”
Bailey''s expression was cold as she revealed calmly, “Bad news. The embryo has been severely
affected, and this will have an immense impact on its development. There is an eighty percent chance
that the baby will be born with deformities, and even if that is not the case, it will most likely suffer from
