Micah did not respond and strode out of the living room instead.

After ending the call, Artemis tossed his phone to the bedside table.
They wanted to show Zoey mercy by allowing her to remain as the heiress of the Shurmer family.

Her eyes darted around as she asked tentatively, “Was it Rhonda or Zoey? Or was it Scarlett? Could it
be Rose?”

“It was Zoey,” Artemis said solemnly. “You wanted to show her mercy, but she seems determined to
destroy herself. This time, it was sabotaging the car. Next time, she might even stab you. We can''t take
this lying down from somebody this unrepentant.”
Raising her eyebrows, Bailey hugged his arm with augh. “I''m guessing you have already taken care
of her. So, how did you do it?”
He must have exposed the resemnce I share with Waverly and that I am not the biological daughter

Artemis hung his head slightly and pressed his forehead against hers. “You understand me best, Bay.
Forgive me for acting on my own, but I will not go easy on anybody who means you harm.”
Bailey sighed. “Zoey is different. She saved your life. Besides, she has been with the Shurmers for
years. I can''t just drag her down.”
