“Since you intend to send Mr. Saunders to prison, Vicky—in her attempt to save her father from that
fate—had no choice but to manipte the stock market and get herself detained, just to satisfy your
need for vengeance. Lionel, are you truly that heartless? Do you really intend to see her go to prison?”
“Hah!” Lionel sniggered with an emotionless expression. He then added in a nonchnt tone, “She
couldn''t bring herself to watch her father go to prison, yet she decided to act ruthlessly against me by
letting me suffer the betrayal of a loved one.”
“No.” Raising her voice, Bailey bellowed, “Back then, she, too, was a victim of her father''s plot! She
didn''t set it up, and neither did she betray you!”
The revtion caused Lionel to jolt as a look of surprise shed past his eyes.
She wasn''t in cahoots with her father? How is that possible? That night, I clearly saw the cold look in
her eyes and the brimming contempt in them. It was as if I was nothing but a toy to be manipted. So,
how can it be that she wasn''t involved?
When Bailey detected the hesitance in his eyes, she added at once, “Blinded by your own misery, you
didn''t feel the suffering she experienced. Her love for you remains as strong as ever despite the years
that have gone by. Lionel, considering how deep her feelings for you are, let her go and spare the
Saunders family too.”
“Never,” Lionel hissed through gritted teeth.
Feeling disheartened, Bailey let out a sigh. “By not letting Mr. Saunders go, it''s no different from
pushing Victoria into a bottomless abyss.”
All of a sudden, Lionel burst into a loud guffaw. “Despite knowing the devastation her father has
wrecked upon my family, she continues to take his side. Since she''s adamant about paying for

Saunders family.”
“Fine.” Standing upright, Bailey looked down at him and threatened, “In that case, don''t me me for
going against you. LG Corporation isn''t the only one in this world capable of taking over Saunders
