Later that day, Bailey met up with Victoria at a café. The two stared out of the window at the busy street
wordlessly until Bailey broke the silence.
“So, have you made up your mind, Vicky? When are you going back to Saunders Group? Are you sure

Victoria stared at her for a brief second. A fleeing hint of astonishment shone in her eyes, but she
quickly broke out in a smile. “No way. The Saunders family is my root. They brought me up and
educated me. There''s no way I''ll betray them.”
“Really?” Bailey questioned in a casual tone, swirling the coffee in the cup. “You can''t hide anything
from me, Vicky. Why did you go to Luther Group after graduating if you take them as your family and do
not resent them? Why didn''t you stay at your family''spany instead?”
Victoria lowered her head. “Luther Group is a multinationalpany. There are a lot of learning
opportunities there. Now that I''ve acquired some experience, it''s only natural for me to return to
Saunders Group, so don''t overread the situation. I don''t have any other motive,” she said calmly.
Bailey smiled coldly. “You''re not admitting to anything unless I state it clearly, aren''t you, Vicky? Lionel''s

Back at the Jefferson residence, rence was sitting on the couch reading the newspaper when
Beatrice went over, sat beside him, and held his arm.
