    Mnie looked down for a while before picking up the call.

    “Where are you? I''ll get Eugene to pick you up. You shouldn’t be driving in this weather. It’s not safe.”

    Mnie pressed her lips together. She did not want Henry to know that she was with Eugene.


    She swept a nce at him from the corner of her eye and saw Eugene staring at her emotionlessly. However, there was a cold


    taunting look in his eye.


    Mnie was taken aback. She immediately wanted to tell Henry that she did not need Eugene to pick her up when she suddenly


    heard Henry cough violently through the phone.


    It sounded like Landon was trying to soothe him and feed him his medicine.


    Mnie frowned immediately. “Are you alright?”


    Henry coughed in a low voice, sounding quite weak. “I’m fine. The rain is too heavy, Mel. You should take care of yourself. Don’t


    reject that rascal’s ride because you’re mad at him.”


    It sounded like Henry had trouble even speaking. Mnie wanted to say something, but Landon had hung up hurriedly.


    She looked up and met Eugene’s impatient eyes.
