    Jared casually tossed the charms in his hand toward the sky. A few balls of me erupted the next


    second, and the charms slowly descended in all directions. Jared muttered, “Sever the entry paths


    of all intruders!”


    Immediately afterward, he waved his hand, unleashing a ray of golden light all around. The few


    burning charms all burrowed into the ground like moles. Soon, tranquility was restored, and the


    scene reverted to its initial state, as if nothing had urred.


    Cloud, standing at one side and watching Jared setting up the arcane array, felt the green-eyed


    monster rearing its ugly head within him.


    He couldn’t fathom how Jared could be so strong and simultaneously proficient in so many skills.


    Could this be a matter of innate talent?


    While Jared was establishing the arcane array, Xandros quietly observed the scene on arge


    boulder not far away.


    “Mr. Xandros, someone has emerged from Imperial Beast City, and there was even a sh of light


    earlier. Whether they’re out to collect the corpses or set traps is uncertain. Should we inform King


    Lucian for him to make a decision on our next move?” a general in armor whispered to Xandros.


    “That won’t be necessary. Father has already retired for the night, so let’s not disturb him over such


    a trifle. We’ll investigate the situation ourselves.” Xandros waved his hand dismissively.


    “Mr. Xandros, King Lucian had issued the order to forbid you from getting close to Imperial Beast


    City. It’ll be troublesome if you encounter any danger,” the general persuaded Xandros.


    “What danger could there be? Besides Yuven, there are no other Tribtor cultivators in Imperial


    Beast City, so what is there to fear? Unless Yuven himself leaves the city, no one cany a finger on


    me,” Xandros retorted confidently.


    “Mr. Xandros, I still think it’s better if we report to King Lucian.” The general didn’t dare take the risk.


    If any mishaps were to befall Xandros, he would be doomed.


    “You’re such a useless coward! You actually call yourself a general? As a Top Level Body Fusion


    Realm cultivator, what are you afraid of? If you won’t go, I’ll head over by myself!” Xandros rebuked

    direction, an elder in a white robe with a goatee showed up and blocked Xandros’ path, his facial


    expression stern.

    “Mr. Quayle, why aren’t you sleeping at thiste hour? I saw someoneing out from Imperial


    Beast City, and I’m worried they might be setting traps, so I’m nning to go and check it out.”


    “Even if someone came out of Imperial Beast City, you should report this incident instead of acting


    rashly on your own. As the prince of Norwal City, if you were captured by people from Imperial


    Beast City, they’d use you to threaten King Lucian. That would put King Lucian in a difficult


    position,” reprimanded the elderly man, Remus Quayle.


    Xandros could only lower his head, not daring to speak anymore. It was apparent that he was


    scared of Remus.


    Remus was satisfied with Xandros’ submissive demeanor. He then said, “Come with me. If you’re


    with me, I can still ensure your safe escape even if we do run into Yuven!”


    “Okay! Let’s go take a look!” Xandros nodded excitedly. Remus turned to the general. “You can


    continue patrolling. I’ll apany Mr. Xandros to check out the situation.”


    The general nodded and quickly left. Evidently, Remus’ status was much higher than that of the


    general.


    Subsequently, Remus and Xandros started walking toward Imperial Beast City.


    Afterying out the arcane array, Jared thoroughly inspected it to ensure it wasn’t easily detectable,


    then prepared to return with Cloud.


    However, just as Jared was about to call Cloud to leave, thetter suddenly shouted at the nearby


    bushes, “Who’s there!”


    Jared’s heart skipped a beat. He had been focused on setting up the arcane array earlier and


    wasn’t paying attention to his surroundings. Unexpectedly, he didn’t notice someone approaching.


    Fortunately, Cloud was there to stand guard, and he managed to discover the intruders.
