Aidan’s brows furrowed, his mood extremely sour, “To the court.”
“Court?” Samuel eximed, then immediately covered his mouth, realizing his outburst.
“Mr. Lucas, what are we going to do at the court?”
Aidan didn’t answer, but only turned his head to give Samuel a deep, heavy look.
“I-I talk too much…Mr. Lucas, please don’t be angry.”
Samuel’s scalp tingled from Aidan’s gaze, his entire back drenched in cold sweat, knowing that he had disturbed Aidan. He didn’t dare ask any more questions, maintaining silence all the way to the courthouse.
Aidan sat in the back seat with his eyes closed, his brows slightly knitted as if he were resting.
Although he seemed to be resting, the words Ellie had said on the phone kept echoing in his mind.
“Young Master, I can’t stop the Young Lady. She insists on going to court to testify. The Young Lady has only just gotten better not long ago, and there are many people in the courthouse, so there could be conflicts. If something were to happen, it would be terrible!”
