    Chapter 181 S2| Emily''s New Assistant

Picking up a box from the table, Emily sighed. "Okay. Then, let me exin what you have to do,

    Auntie."

She brought it to Barbara''s couch. "Since Daddy said you studied fashion design, I''m sure you know

more than me. So, let’s go straight to practice."

When Emily opened the box, various shapes of beads immediately reflected the light. Barbara

spontaneously frowned. "What is it for?"

"One of my projects is a party dress. You know that fringe is trending, right? I want to make a dress

    inspired by salsa dancers."

Barbara''s eyes widened. "Don''t tell me you want me to make the beaded fringes."

Emily''s lips trembled in amusement. She quickly covered it so she wouldn''tugh.

"Unfortunately, I need some fringe samples. You should make them, Auntie. Tenbinations of

samples are enough. Then I need 10 fringes with different lengths for eachbination. The minimum

    length is 10 cm."

    "Tenbinations?" Barbara''s jaw dropped.

"Yes." Emily picked up a bead with her tiny thumb and forefinger. "It''s up to you what pattern you want.

Make what you think is the best. The strings are here and the equipment is in the drawer."

Barbara snorted in annoyance. "Why did you order me? Why don''t you just do it yourself?"

"Because you are my assistant, Auntie, and I have other more important things to take care of."

Barbara folded her arms across her chest. Her face twisted. "What important things can a child your

    age take care of?"

"Soon we will enter the fourth quarter. I have to submit my quarterly business report to Daddy. So, I

need to recap a lot of things."

"Why don''t I make the report? You made the samples."

"Can you really do it? You even needed Philip''s help to make a portfolio."

The man standing in the corner of the room failed to hold back hisughter. His voice made Barbara''s

    cheeks redden.

"Then what is his job? Instead of standing there, wouldn''t it be better if he made the samples?"

"Philip is busier than the two of us. He holds many positions." Emily nodded, reassuringly.

"But look at him! He''s rxed!"

Emily nced briefly. Philip smiled sweetly at her. "That''s because he is monitoring Auntie to report to

Daddy. If your work is not right, you will not get a sry or even be fired."

Barbara scowled. It actually didn’t scare her. However, she still had to carry out her duties.

"Okay! I''ll make it. One hundred fringes, right?" Barbara frowned in resignation.

Emily nodded with a big smile. "That''s right. Give your best, Auntie. Finish it before it''s time to go home

because tomorrow the work will be different."

Barbara gaped again. Before she made ament, Philip took out a tool box from the drawer.

    "Here. Hope this helps."

A sigh escaped Barbara''s mouth quickly. Her eyes were red but she was too embarrassed to shed

tears. When she returned from work, she could onlyin to Mnie.

"Mommy, that little girl is too much. She told me to make a hundred beaded fringes. Do you know how

hard it is to make them? The beads are so small and slippery. My eyes almost popped out!"

Barbara threw herself on the sofa. Mnie swiftly stroked her shoulder.

"It''s okay, Dear. Just think of it as a stepping stone to gain your brother''s sympathy. Did you manage to

    aplish that?"

"Of course not! I only managed to make 30. My hands and neck are already sore."

Mnie turned stiff. Her silence implied something. "Then, is that kid angry?"

"She gave me a chance to finish it tomorrow, when she goes to school."

Mnie let out a faint sigh. "Good. Whatever happens, hang in there, Darling. You have to stay inside

the Savior if we want our n to go smoothly."

Barbara groaned in annoyance. She was like an elementary student who didn''t get pocket money.

"How long do I have to be like this?"

Mnie patted the back of her daughter''s hand. "It won''t be long. And you know what? Tomorrow our

weaponse. You have to ept them without anyone knowing."

"You asked for the package to be sent to the office?" Barbara stared wide eyed.

"Yes. It''s much safer there than here. Don''t be burdened, Dear. Just think of it as your shopping

    package."

Barbara''s eyebrows moved down. Her shoulders became even stiffer. "Why do I have so much work to

    do?"

"Because you''re the only one I can rely on."

Barbara snorted. She could do nothing but obey her mother''s orders. However, the next day, after only

making 10 samples, she was bored.

"Aaargh! Why didn''t she just buy the finished product? Why did she tell me to make it instead?"

While clutching her temples, Barbara furrowed her brows. "I''d go crazy if I had to make 100 of them."

Suddenly, a knock on the door was heard. Barbara nced sharply.

"Who else is bothering me?" she grumbled. "Come in!"

When the door opened, Jeremy entered with a t look.

"Who are you?" Barbara furrowed her eyebrows. But seeing a package in his hand, she moved over to

    him. "You''re a courier?"

Jeremy raised an eyebrow. "Since when are the couriers wearing ties?"

Barbara shrugged. "Who knows, you''re the special courier at this office."

However, seeing that Jeremy wasn''t leaving, she nced over. "What?"

"You haven''t said thank you yet."

Barbara let out a thin breath. "Isn''t that your job? Why should I thank you?"

Jeremy snorted slightly. His heart tingled. "Now I understand why Frank entrusted you to Emily. You

really have a lot to learn from Young Lady."

Jeremy didn''t answer. He wanted no debate. "Excuse me." He stepped back and closed the door.

"Who is that man? He’s so strange," Barbara grumbled as she put the sample on the table carefully.

"But it''s okay. My package arrived safely and no one suspected anything." Barbara nced at the box

beside her. "Mom will be happy."

While the girl contacted Mnie, Jeremy entered the CEO''s room.

"How was it? Have you seen your sister?" Frank asked, smiling crookedly.

"Your sister, not mine. We''re not rted by blood, you remember? But you''re right. She''s unbelievable.

I don''t know how your mother raised her."

Frank smiled wryly. "Then, is there any information you can give me?"

Jeremy pulled a chair, sitting in front of his younger brother. After a few moments, he handed him his

    tablet.

    Frank nodded. His lips pursed.

"What causes their operational costs to increase? Are there any irregrities?"
