    76. Kidnapped


    Kara picked up the phone hastily. “Mom?”

    Kara’s chest throbbed with pain when she heard her mother’s sobs. Her mouth was dry and her tongue


    was numb. “W-what’s wrong,


    Mom? Why are you apologizing?”
