Chapter 809
Chapter 809 Keeping Things from Her
Met with his daughter’s silence, ude felt helpless, walked to her side, sat down, held her in his arms,
and soothed her, “You’re my dear daughter. How would I have the heart to scold you? I was too
anxious to control my voice and afraid that someone might hear anything. Don’t you believe me?”
He looked at his daughter in a gracious manner. His face was a little haggard and covered with stubble.
Ang turned to look at her dad, surprised to see him like that.
Her father was a little fat but used to be well-groomed. He had always been elegant, but now there
were dark circles under his eyes.
Howe he keeps the stubble on his face? It’s not like he is on vacation.
Ang sensed something wrong, looked at him, and frowned. “Dad, did anything happen to our
company?”
She stopped making a fuss. Theirpany was what mattered.
udeughed, “Not really, you think too much. Everything is going on well.”
“Then why are you in such bad shape? Dark circles are under your eyes. You haven’t shaven, and did
you lose weight?”
Martha sighed under her breath. That was two billion dors. This matter alone was devastating.
In fact, she had lost wight too. It was just that she stayed with Ang all the time, and thetter didn’t
notice it.
“Ha-ha, did I? Thinner is better. My figure was perfect and admired by a lot of women back then. Now
I’m fat and even tired of walking. I’ve eaten and drunk lesstely. It looks like my efforts have paid off.”
“Dad, don’t change the subject!” There was a tinge of agitation in her voice, “Something is going on
with thepany. Tell me about it. Don’t keep me in suspense. We can figure out something together.”
She then turned to look at her mother. “You’ve been off in the past few days too. You look distracted all
the time. What are you keeping from me?”
Martha frowned at once. “Nothing.”
udeughed and used his fingertip to poke Ang’s forehead. “You always like to imagine things. If
you want to know,e back to work. You’re in good shape anyway. Why don’t youe to the office
and confirm it with your own eyes?”
Ang further furrowed her brows and gave her father a suspicious look.
If thepany were in trouble, he wouldn’t have invited her to the office. Even so, she felt that
something was off.
She nodded and said, “Okay, I’m going to work tomorrow.”
If they were reluctant to tell, she could not get an answer whatsoever. She would go to the office and
find out herself. There might be clues.
As her daughter stopped pursuing the matter, ude got up with a smile and looked at Martha. “Have
you got dinner ready? It is time.”
Ang frowned again. Wait, my mom is taking care of our food now?
Martha nodded. “It’s in the pot. I’ll serve the food at once.”
With that, she headed to the kitchen. On the sofa, Ang’s face clouded over.
