Chapter 1898

    Chapter 1898

"I''m afraid you can''t get what you want in this ce,” Kendrix refused without hesitation. "I think we shouldn''t be wasting our time."

"My brother-inw, I don''t think you''re being honest with me." Garyughed. "I''m already here, proving that I know I''ll get what I want. Do you think

you can still refuse to let me in?"

Kendrix smiled as he narrowed his eyes a little. His eyes shone, looking as if he was well aware of everything that was happening.

"You''ve already seen us, haven''t you? What else do you want to confirm?" Kendrix asked.

Gary immediately understood. "It was really you. You are good."

Kendrix smiled and walked back inside the office.

    Gary followed suit.

"Yesterday at this hour, your mother and her sister came to me. Today, you and your girlfriend are here again. It seems like I''m fated with the Jones

    family.”

"Isn''t that so? " Gary smiled. "You are indeed fated with the Jones family.”

    Kendrixjust twitched his lips.

"Sooner orter, we will be family," Gary said.

Kendrix frowned slightly and asked, "Mr. Jones, do you know that you''re actually hurting your sister by doing this?"

"See, you do care for my sister.” Gary was able to catch the important points in Kendrix''s words, even though it might not always seem like what

    others would think.

"Of course I do, she''s my student after all. I''m responsible for her. You would understand that, wouldn''t you?" Kendrix said.

Gary sneered. "It''s not like she''s the only student you have, and it''s not like she needs another person to feel responsible for her.”

"I''m just telling you the reason," Kendrix said

    "Same here," Gary refuted.

Kendrix could only stare at him, his gaze deep

Gary looked Kendrix in the eye, not avoiding him at all, and then said, "Anyway, you and Sylvia aren''t going to be the only teacher-and-student couple

out there. There are a lot of such precedents, and many of them turned out to be great. Also, you''re just working here for three months, and you''re not

exactly a teacher. Do you really see yourself as a teacher now that you''re here?"

"Are you really her brother? I really can''t understand why you''re in such a hurry to marry your sister off." Kendrix was being straightforward too

However, Gary was justughing. "Look at you being so concerned about her. You really do like her, don''t you?"

"That''s because she''s my student,” Kendrix reminded him.

Gary''s smile grew even more sinister as if he was telling Kendrix to not fight back, because he could see right through Kendrix.

Kendrix frowned and felt annoyed to be stared at.

Gary put on a smug look. "Don''t be sc nervous about this. I will keep it a secret. It''s nothing embarrassing to fall for my sister.”

"You can stop your nonsense," Kendrix said indifferently, "I''m busy. You may leave now."

"Sure. Get back to your work. You don''t have to host me.” Gary nced around in his office. It was not too spacious, but everything was kept orderly

    and clean.

Kendrix''s sportswear which he wore earlier was also hung neatly on the hangers.

It could be seen that Kendrix was indeed a disciplined man.

Gary looked around and smiled. "You know, I like you a lot."

He liked the fact that he could entrust his sister with Kendrix as he was able to handle her.

Hearing his words, Kendrix nced at him for a while and said, "Just how much do you hate your sister that you can''t wait to find someone else to

    take care of her?"

"I don''t hate her. I just find her to be a troublemaker. Crdinary men can never handle someone like her," Gary said.

"Should I be grateful that you think so highly of me then?" Kendrix asked.N?velDrama.Org is the owner.

Gary shrugged and said with a smile, "You should and if you feel like thanking me, you could, but we will soon be family. You don''t have to be

    this formal with me, brother-inw.”

Kendrix was speechless as the corner of his lips twitched. He was rendered speechless.

"You''re a smart guy," Gary said with a smile, "I''d say you''re almost as smart as me."

Kendrix looked helpless as he looked at him again

"Don''t give me that lock, I''m not going to empathize with you," Gary said faintly, "My sister may be weird at some times, but she''s still an amazing

person. She has the looks, she has the background, and most importantly, she''s falling deeply in love with you."

"She is still a kid," Kendrix replied in his deep voice.

"I know, and I respect that preference of yours too." Gary chuckled, raising his palms at Kendrix. "No worries, I won''t make fun of you."

Kendrix looked at Gary straight in his eyes. "What''s your point?"

"The point is I''m entrusting my sister with you, and I don''t take no for an answer." Gary smiled. "You''ve already made your decision, so stop putting up

    that act."

"When did I make a decision?" Kendrix was confused.

"Just now." Gary pointed at theputer on Kendrix''s desk and smiled. "Here, this is the evidence."

Kendrix froze for a moment. He looked at theputer and there was a glint in his eyes.

"You''re feeling guilty." Gary smiled cunningly like a fox.

Kendrix turned around to look at Gary. He was already looking like his usual calm self. It was as if nothing had happened and he had not shown any

    of his guilt identally earlier.

"We met yesterday. I already saw through you," Gary said.

    Kendrix frowned.

Seeing his frown, Garyughed even more wickedly. "You don''t have to frown. What did you tell Sylvia yesterday after my girlfriend and I left?”

Kendrix frowned. "What did I say?"

"You set up a n.” Gary smiled. "I''ve set a n like this toc when I was 16 years old. My girlfriend and I were both kids back then. I couldn''t help it,

as I fell in love and I had to win her over.”

Kendrix snorted. "Are you implying that I''m immature, and that I''m just like you when you were just 16 years old?"

"No, I''m not," Gary said that but his tone and expression said otherwise.

His smile was wicked. "I know your n well, and I know my sister is willing to head right into it. However, Kendrix, we''re all smart people, aren''t we?

You don''t have to hide this from me."

"I don''t think we''re that close,” Kendrix said.

"We will be once you marry my sister

Gary said.with a smile, "Also, saw

    Kendrix remained silent.

Gary smiled and continued, "Kendrix, you''re being too careful about this."

"You''re making things up out of nothing,” Kendrix said.

    "What''s there to be embarrassed

Gary said. "Yourknow that we''re of

    Kendrix remained silent again.

"I''l just take your silence as you''ve acknowledged my words.” Gary sat down on the sofa and crossed his legs. "To be honest, you reacted

    exceptionally fast today.”

Kendrix also sat down behind his desk. He leaned back in his office chair and nced at Gary. "Are you done yet?"

    "Almost," Gary said.

"You may leave then." Kendrix pointed towards the door, as if he was trying to get him to leave.

"What''s the rush?" Gary found it interesting that he finally got to taunt Kendrix, so of course he wasn''t going to let him off that easily.

Kendrix knew Gary wouldn''t be leaving him alone that easily, so he just stopped talking altogether.

He turned on theputer and started working.

    Gary smiled.

    Soon after, he burst intoughter.

    Kendrix froze.

    Gary''sughter became even more sinister.

    Kendrix looked at him again.

"She will surely rank first this time. Kendrix, your n is working," Gary said

"As a student, it''s her duty to focus on her studies," Kendrix replied.

"You''re a police officer, yet you''re here teaching at a high school. Isn''t this your first time teaching? I believe this is fated, and such fate is hard to

come by," Gary said, "Perhaps, it would even be the most unforgettable memory of yours."

"Kendrix, you hgve to believe that
