Chapter 1860

    Chapter 1860

As Clinton sent Heinz home, he suppressed the urge to ask the question that was niggling at the back of his mind.

Heinz could tell that Clinton badly wanted to ask him something, so he said in a low voice, "If there''s something you want to say, just say it."

Clinton was shocked. He did not expect Heinz to see through his thoughts. Even though it sounded like a stupid question, he still could not resist the

urge to ask, "Il have a question, but I''m not sure whether I should ask it or not."

"Didn''t I tell you to say it? Why are you still hesitating?" Heinz repeated. "Lester and Alex were just like you. They had questions, but they dared not

ask. They hesitated and dragged on and on like a woman."

    Clinton felt embarrassed

He had only worked with Heinz for a few years.

He thought for a while and asked, "President, there''s something I just don''t understand. Why should we help someone like Michael?"

Even though Clinton did everything ording to Heinz''s orders, he was still confused about the matter. Michael was neither a rtive nor a friend. He

    was a nobody.

"You''re still young. When you reach my age and have had many children and lived a happy life, you''ll probably want to share your happiness with

    others," Heinz exined.

Many would probably not understand his way of thinking, but that was truly how Heinz felt.

He could also understand why some of the more distinguished businessmen did so much charitable work when they were older.

Clinton was stunned. He looked in the rearview mirror and thought he could see a glow radiating from Heinz''s face.

Heinz''s radiance seemed to move him.

He could not help but look at Heinz with admiration.

Heinz smiled and went on, "You might not understand what I''m saying, but when you''re happy. you''ll want everyone to be as happy as you are. You''ll

    want to share your happiness.”

Clinton did not understand the kind of happiness Heinz was talking about. However, he knew that the Jones family had been particrly caring of

their employees in recent years, and had done a lot to improve their employees’ welfare.

Thepany treated its employees well, and its business was booming. And it was thanks to Heinz''s benevolence.

A person''s character determined how far they would go in life.

Clinton smiled with embarrassment. "I think I understand. You''re rescuing him."

Heinzughed when he heard that. "Rescue? Well, perhaps you''re right. That''s what I''m doing.”

Heinz looked out of the window, smiling.

He was feeling satisfied with his life and enjoying it to its fullest.

Clinton nced at him and stopped talking.

When they were about to arrive, Heinz asked casually, "How are things going with Leah''s sister and her childhood sweetheart?”

Clinton stiffened and almost stepped on the brakes.

Seeing how nervous he was, Heinz did not say anything else. He only nced at him indifferently.

"P- President, how do you know about that?" Clinton stammered. When he came back to his senses, he exined immediately, "Mr. Emest told me

about it in secret, and I dared not tell you. I thought that I could handle it. And since he was the one who asked me to do it, I did not dare to say

    anything to you."

"I know your concerns,” Heinz said indifferently. "But don''t forget who''s the one paying you your sry.”

Clinton was stunned, understanding instantly. He replied in a low voice, "Yes, I know. I was wrong."

Heinz did not continue ming Clinton and merely told him, "Since Ernest was the one who approached you, it must be important. He must not want

anyone to know, especially me. So, just focus on helping him."

An honest man, Clinton immediately said respectfully, "Okay. I''l report to you immediately next time."

Heinz nodded and grunted in acknowledgment without saying anything else.

Clinton took a deep breath silently. He did not expect Heinz to know so much. It seemed as if nothing could escape from his notice.

"President, the childhood sweetheart of Miss Winston''s younger sister is called Hogan. He has met Miss Winston a few times, but I''ve secretly

investigated the matter and found that there''s nothing going on between them. Miss Winston is very fond of Mr. Ernest,” Clinton exined briefly.

    Heinz nodded. "Go on.”

"Mr. Ernest may have broken up with Miss Winston some time ago as they did not contact each other. Mr. Ernest also asked me to install security

doors at the lobbies of all the apartment buildings nearby thew department''s apartments for free. He paid all the expenses,” Clinton continued,

divulging everything as if he was being pressured

Heinz could not help butugh. "So, to pursue a girl, that brat actually did all that."

When Clinton saw Heinzughing, he alsoughed. "That''s right. He also asked me to help Miss Winston''s sister, Rowane, move out. She was

treating Miss Winston badly, but she has turned over a new leaf. I was still worried and sent someone to follow her, but she really has changed.”

"Good. That''s great. Handle Hogan''s matter quietly,” Heinz replied, looking out the window.

Clinton continued, "Hogan''s mother is getting more and more narcissistic. She acts so arrogantly as if no one is more important than her. Mr. Charm

    is dealing with that matter.”

"I know the Wells family, "Heinz said. "Pay them a visit tomorrow. Tell Simeon toe to the Jones Estate.” "You want to meet Hogan''s father?”

Clinton asked in surprise. "He''s not a reasonable person at all. His wife is very arrogant.”

"Simeon is a businessman. Even though he does not have a huge business, he''s a sensible man. Men are always more knowledgeable than their

wives. Go and tell me that I''d like to meet him. He''ll definitelye.”

    "Okay." Clinton nodded at once.

    At the Jones family’s house

By the time Heinz arrived, it was already the evening

Even so, the atmosphere was lively.

Sebastian and Sylvia hade back from school, and they were overjoyed to see Leah at home.

Especially Sylvia. She was really excited

"Leah, you''re my favorite sister-inw." Sylvia kept calling Leah the moment she saw her.

Leah felt so embarrassed that her face turned red.

However, Ernest really liked how enthusiastic Sylvia was. To him, it was semething that enhanced his self-esteem as a man.

He wanted nothing mare than to let everyone in the world know that Leah was his woman.

    He wanted everyone to know.

"Sylvia, even though I''m going to be with your brother for the rest of my life, don''t you think it''s too early to be so enthusiastic?" Leah asked, blushing.

Sylvia blinked and stared into Leah''s eyes. Her prating gaze seemed to stare straight into Leah''s soul.

    It made Leah feel guilty.

She nced at Sylvia and asked, "Why are you looking at me like that?"

    Sylvia smiled and replied, "Leah,

thought that you were a brave girl

At first, Leah was stunned. Then, she looked at Sylvia. She thought that Sylvia was too bold, even for a child. Her words could leave anyone

    speechless.

However, she did not feel embarrassed. Instead, it left her with a good impression of Sylvia.

"I''m not a coward, but I''m still a girl. Especially since this is my first time in the Jones family, you can''t be so eager as to call me your sister-inw the

moment you meet me, can you?"

Sylviaughed. "I can tell from your eyes that you can''t give up on Ernest. I like you. You''re my type.” "Well, you''re great too," Leah said frankly. It

delighted her to chat with such a cute little sisterin-w. She felt that Sylvia was smart and forthright.

Ernest listened to their conversation and was amused.

If the two of them got along well, who knew what would happen? Perhaps it would make the Jones family a very lively ce.

"Ernest is quite the catch, isn''t he?"

Sylvia asked with a smirk as she

    reached 0uLto hold Leah''s hand.

Ernest was speechless and he looked utterly embarrassed.

Leah nced at him and noticed the darkened expression on his handsome face. It felt intimidating.

Sylvia was also intimidated by Ernest''s gloomy expression, and she shrank back. Then, she stuck out her tongue and made a face.

"Ernest, don''t scare me. That won''t do anything. I''m not afraid of you," Sylvia said, provoking Ernest with a smile. "From your expression, it''s clear

that I was spot on. Leah, Ernest is very attracted to you. You don''t have to blush. I understand.”

    Leah was embarrassed.

Ernest frowned and gritted his teeth. "Sylvia, you''re still underage.”

"So what?" Sylvia replied with a smile. "I''m precocious. What''s there that don''t I know? What I want to say is, Leah, you can always do the same to

Ernest. You don''t have to worry about him. I can guarantee that as long as you take the initiative, Ernest will be happy and proud.”

Leah locked at Ernest once more, feeling very helpless

She did not expect Sylvia to be so good at judging people at such a young age.

Ernest was also just like that
