Chapter 1832

    Chapter 1832

Her gaze was filled with mixed emotions. Pity and irony could be seen in her eyes.

After all, he was the man she loved for so long.

All of her misfortune in her life started because of him.

Simon inexplicably dazed under her gaze, and there was a glint of struggle in his eyes.

She took another look at Heinz who was standing next to her as she told him, "Heinz. you''re a smart guy, but you should know to forgive while you

    can.”

“Of course. I understood that all this while, but you two don''t seem to realize that.” Heinz smiled as he looked at Marry. "He''s asking me to keep you

    here. What do you think?"

Marry did not say anything. Heinz then smiled at Simon. "All right, Marry has agreed to this. She will be waiting for you."

Marry was dumbfounded. She then frowned and look at Heinz.

"When did I say I agreed?” She asked.

"Marry, you''re already in your forties. You should stop acting all pretentious." Heinz reminded, "You should at least fight for what you long after if you

couldn''t let it go. Haven''t you learned this after having suffered for so long?"

Marry was startled. She then chuckled, "It seems like you learned a lot yourself, but you aren''t me. You didn''t even suffer that much. Can''t you

understand what it is that I can''t let go?"

“Would you rather hold on to your grudges or lose someone forever? What''s more important to you" Heinz asked in a straightforward manner.

Marry paused for a while before letting out a burst of wryughter, and then she nodded. "You''re right. Losing someone forever does hurt more. All

    right. I''ll wait for him."

“Ernest. bring your aunt out.” Heinz said in a low voice.Upstodatee from Novel(D)ra/m/a.O(r)g

Ernest then walked in and led Marry out of the room

Simon and Heinz were the only ones left in the room. They were finally left alone after having a feud for so many years.

Simon took a deep breath as he looked at Heinz before speaking in a low voice, "Heinz, what is your goal for bringing Marry over today?"

His tone was serious. Heinz raised a brow and smiled faintly. "What do you think?"

Simon was running out of patience. "I''m the one who''s asking you. Just answer my question. Stop these nonsense. I have no time to fool around.”

Hearing that, Heinz smiled again and said, "You have never really moved on from Marry all this while. You believed that you were in love with Grace,

but after seeing Marry just now, it''s clear that you still loved her, but you were just too blinded by your obsession to notice your feelings for Marry all

    these years.”

Simon was startled. There was again a hint of struggle in his gaze

Heinz continued, "Let me ask you this now. Are you finally able to differentiate between your feelings for Grace and Marry?"

Simon''s eyes dimmed. There wereplicated emotions in his gaze, and he pondered for a moment before nodding. "I know it well now."

“Really?” Heinz was naturally suspicious. However, as he looked at Simon then, he could see that Simon had finallye to a realization.

He had a feeling that Simon finally knew what he wanted then.

He looked at Simon and said calmly, "Simon, it''s up to you whether we should keep fighting against each other, or to finally put this behind us. You

know the Jones family will be willing to keep fighting against you if you''ve decided to keep on like this, but then. I''m afraid you''ve already lost too

    much in the past.

If you think that you still stand a chance to mend things with Marry, and if you decided to put this behind us, I can let you go immediately.”

Simon frowned as if he didn''t believe Heinz''s words. "Will you be that kind?”

Heinz nodded and said bluntly, "Do I look like I''m joking around? Am I not a person who keeps my words?"

Hearing that, Simon frowned and pondered as if he was weighing what Heinz had said.

He was trying to figure out if Heinz was really able to put things behind them and let him get away with that once and for all.

Heinz was just staring at him with a calm expression, giving him ample time as he waited for him toe up with a decision

Simon hesitated for a while, and then asked Heinz again, "If we''re putting this behind us once and for all, can you let me have one phone call with

    Grace?"

Heinz looked at him, nodded and said, “Sure. I''ll be nice and let you call my wife if this is what you promise. Although I''m not sure if she’s willing to

talk to you, I will still try."

In order to show his sincerity, Heinz took out his phone right away and made the call in front of Simon.

    Soon, Grace’s-woice could be heard

from the other side of the phone.

Hearing her familiar voice which he>

had not f Keard for so long, it was

both familiar and strange to him at

    the same time. Simon''s bodys”

stiffened a little. He was in disbelief.

He heard her voice, a voice that he had been missing for so long. He could hear her asking, "Heinz, how are things over there? When are youing

    back?"

Her voice was gentle and soft. It was also cheery, as if she wasn''t affected by the news. She was very rxed.

It could be easily told from someone''s voice and tone. if this person was living a blissful life.

In that instance, Simon was finally brought to realization.

He could tell that Grace was in a really happy state. He could tell that from her light and gentle tone, which was impossible to behold if she wasn’t

    happy.

Simon''s heart was in a huge mess suddenly. He used to believe that Grace had made the wrong choice to be with Heinz, and she wouldn''t have lived

a happy life over the years. Yet. she was actually happy with him.

The reality was so cruellyy out in front of him, leaving him no choice but to ept it.

He couldn''t deny the fact that she was happy without him.

Otherwise, she wouldn''t have given birth to that many children with Heinz either.

It could be seen that they were really happily married.

Realizing all that. Simon was already upset before he got the chance to talk to Grace.

    He waspletely defeated then

He felt embarrassed for having insisted to talk to Grace over the phone. How ironic!

It was entirely his own wishful thinking, and he was the one who brought it upon himself.

"Honey, I''m with Simon now. He

wants to seeyou but I didn''t like the

idea, so I turned him down. Now, he

changedthis mind and said that he

want¢to talk to you over the phone.

Whatdo you think? Do you want to

    dorhi $?" Heinz asked. Content

Grace seemed to be a little hesitant, then she said, "Help me reject him. Just tell him that I don’t want to see to him or hear his voice. It isn''t

necessary anyway. I don''t have anything to say to him."

As Grace spoke, Heinz nced at Simon. He noticed that Simon turned pale. It seemed like Simon was hurt.

However, Simon still insisted to call out, “Grace.”

After hearing his voice, Grace paused for a couple of seconds before saying calmly, "Simon. you wanted to call me, didn''t you?”

"Yes, it''s me. I want to talk to you,” Simon said.

"There''s no need for that.” Grace said tly. It was as if she was talking to aplete stranger. "There''s nothing for us to talk about."

Her tone was very calm and t, yet it made him breathless.

"Grace, I... I just wanted to know how you''re doing. It''s been a while. Are you doing well?"

Simon insisted on greeting her. He wanted to condemn her and make her pay for what she did, but in the end, he could only bring himself to ask her

    about her life.

Even he himself was a little taken back with it, not knowing what to do. He couldn''t believe that that was the first question he asked Grace after all the

    years he spent in jail

He found it ironic. He thought that they had be sworn enemies, but in the end. he still softened in front of her.

He somehow only wanted to know how she was doing.

"Well, I have always been great," said Grace.

"I can tell thattyou are happy. That''s

    all that matters." Simon smiled

    bitterly. "wanted to condemn you->
