Chapter 1772

    Chapter 1772

"The anonymous writer doesn''t want to talk to me?" Leah asked, surprised. "Is this person even a

fan of mine? Why would a fan not want to talk to me?"

"How would I know? It''s probably your secret admirer. They must''ve wrote it for you." the editor

    replied.

Leah burst intoughter. "I don''t think that''s possible. How on earth would I get a secret admirer? I

don''t even go out much anymore, so where on earth would I have met them? Don''t simply make

    guesses, alright?"

"I''m not! Come on, think about it. If it isn''t a secret admirer, then who else who it be? The person

who wrote on your behalf is clearly a man."

"That''s not necessarily true," Leah didn''t care about the writer''s gender. She just thought that it was

good. "Why should gender even matter? As long as their writing is good, it should be enough. It

    doesn''t make a difference."

"That''s because a man''s writing is more logical than a woman''s!" The editor continued, "I think the

writer must be a man who is really keen on you.

They didn''t even want the money for their work! They wanted to give it all to you. Isn''t that

something a secret admirer would do? They probably crushed on you for a long while."

Leah burst intoughter. "Wow, your logic is impable. Why don''t you start writing books instead?

    Just quit your editing job."

"Well, how else would you exin it? In my opinion, I think if a man is willing to give money to

another woman, it means that they fancy them. People of the same gender don''t really do that, you

    know?" The editor deduced.

Leah did not know how to refute the editor because she thought that it was a reasonable deduction.

She smiled and said, "Well, I guess that makes sense. I don''t know how to refute that. Alright, let''s

just assume that the writer''s a man. He doesn''t want the money right? Then forget it, it''s not like I''m

rich anyway. I''ll take the money."

If they went on with this back and forth, it would seem too much like flirting.

"You want it?" The editor asked, stunned. "Gosh, you''re really greedy."

"Oh, my goodness. You called me foolish when I refused the money! Now that I''m epting it,

you''re calling me greedy? Are you trying to make my life more difficult or something?"

"Well, of course I would want you to take the money. It''s just the other party''s intentions that I''m

    slightly wary about."

"Well, if you''re wary, I think you should get a contract ready and let them sign it. Once there''s a

signed contract in ce, you won''t have to worry about their intentions or whatever. I don''t want to

be involved in any future disputes."

"You''re right, I should get a contract ready. I''ll get thepany to help out with this," the editor said.

    "That sounds good."

"Do you still have any other questions?" The editor asked Leah.

"Oh, can you ask the other party about the book''s rights? Since he doesn''t want to be paid for his

writing, does this mean that I still hold sole im to it? If the copyright gets sold to anotherpany,

    will he want a cut?"

"Wow, that''s a loaded question," replied the editor.

"Well, it''s an important question. Since he wants me to get all the money for his work, then I''ll just

assume I''m still the sole owner of the book. If its copyright im gets sold to a director in the future,

I''m not going to give him a cut, even if he asks. You''d better let him know that if he wants a cut of

the copyright im, he''ll have to let me know first," Leah said.

"Wow, Reaper, you''re really something. I can''t believe you''re thinking about the copyright ims

already. The book''s copyright hasn''t even been sold yet," the editor could not help but feel indignant

    for the anonymous writer.

"I''m just being prepared. Maybe the rest of the story will be so good that it''ll catch a certain director''s

attention. Who knows what''s going to happen, right?"

"What''s more, I''ve already sold the rights of my previous books, and some of them will be adapted

into a TV series soon. Once they get released, I''ll be a celebrity."

"Once I get famous, the copyright ims on the rest of my books will definitely be sold off as well,

don''t you think? When that happens, how should we split the money? Does the anonymous writer

want a cut of it? Can you please discuss it with him?"

The editor replied, "You''re right. I suppose it''s something worth mentioning to him. Alright, I''ll ask

    him."

The editor got to it right away after that. She contacted the anonymous writerte at night and

asked him the questions Leah had posed.

    They discussed everything through text.

After the editor sent a long list of questions to the other party, she got a reply that read, "I don''t want

toy any im to this book. Credit everything to Reaper. All the money, except for yourpany''s

cut, should solely belong to Reaper."

The editor gaped at her screen in surprise. This was the first time she had met someone who did

not seem to care much about money.

The editor really admired this anonymous writer. She couldn''t help but ask through text, "Are you a

    man or a woman?"

The man stopped typing for a while and replied eventually, "Take a guess."

The editor grinned deviously and typed back, "I think you are a man. You must have a huge crush

    on Reaper, don''t you?"

"In fact, I think you might even be in love with her! Otherwise, why would you not want a single

penny? You know that writing is very profitable, right?"

"Especially for a well-known writer like Reaper. Her works earn her a lot of money. I''m honestly

shocked that you''re not after money at all."

"Furthermore, I think a person who does not thirst for money like you would either be too young to

understand the value of it, or you''ve simply fallen in love with Reaper, and don''t think money is more

important than your love for her. It has to be one of these reasons. Otherwise, there are very few

people in this world who would not say yes to money."

    "So, you''re definitely a man, aren''t you?"

When the anonymous writer saw those texts from the editor, he paused for a moment before he

replied, "Yes, I''m in love with the Reaper. Take the money as a gift from me to her."

When the editor read the message, her eyes lit up and she quickly replied, "Really? Are you really a

    man?"

She received a one-worded reply, "Yes."

The editor was almost ecstatic. "I knew it! I was right!"

"Your writing style clued me in on your gender. I didn''t think that I would be right, you know? Reaper

couldn''t really determine your gender. To be honest, she didn''t seem to care if you were a man or

not. The book you wrote seemed to be written by a man. I can''t believe a man like you can write so

    much like a woman!"

    "Dude, you''re really amazing."

    The editorplimented the anonymous writer.

"I''m honestly really curious. Since you''re writing for Reaper, why don''t you want to talk to her? Don''t

you want to get her number and chat with her?"

"Reaper is a beauty, you know? She looks like a supermodel in every picture. If you don''t want the

money, you can always try to foster a closer rtionship with her. Who knows? Maybe the two of

    you might end up together?"

The anonymous writer paused for a moment before sending out a message, "Are you an editor or a

    matchmaker?"

When the editor read that message, sheughed out loud and replied, "I''m both! If I get the both of

you together, I might just be able to avoid a futurewsuit."

"I have to remind you that since you''re refusing the money for your work, it''ll be difficult for you to

get a cut if the copyright im for the book gets sold in the future."

"Reaper''s inw school, you know? So if you end up going to court against her, you''ll definitely lose

    the case."

"She''ll get herself a goodwyer. Most of thewyers she knows are either her ssmates, seniors,

or professors. Since they know each other, they would definitely do their best to protect the

Reaper''s interests. So, you''re sure that you don''t want the money?"

The other party sent a few words, "Thank you for the reminder. I really do not want any of the

    money."

"If you don''t want money, then what do you want?"

The other party hesitated for a few seconds before replying, "I only want Reaper."

After reading that, the editor was dumbfounded.

It took her a long moment to process what she had just read. Just as she was about to ask for more

details, she received a message from the other party, "I''ve got something urgent to attend to. Let''s

stop here for now. I don''t want to own any rights to the book."

    Text ? by N0ve/lDrama.Org.

After reading that, the editor shrugged and went along with it.

She called Leah to update her about the situation. "Hey Reaper, the anonymous writer said that he

wants you to have all the money. Apparently, he doesn''t want money. He wants you."

"Me?" Leah was stunned. "What for?"

"Isn''t that self exnatory? He wants you! Your heart and soul, obviously. Your beauty has definitely

    allured him," the editor said.

Leah was really shocked. "Is this person a pervert? Or are you the perverted one here? Honestly,

    why are you like this?"

"How could you say that about me? I managed to secure a great deal for you, didn''t I? Come on,

think about it. Who do you think it is? Who would do something like this to pursue you?" The editor

    asked.
