we head downstairs for a meal?"

hours? Are wete? We shouldn''t let them wait too long."
"Well, it''s been half an hour past the two hour mark," Ernest replied.
"Oh." Leah sat up right away and said, "Let''s head downstairs. Maria and Liam must have waited for
some time, and it''s not a good idea to keep them waiting."

expect them to do that."
"I''ll call them right away," The butler said and went to make the call.
However, no one picked up.
The butler made several calls, but no one answered.
"Miss Maria and Master Liam are out on a date, and they''ve lost track of time. They''ve even
forgotten to pick up the phone. They must be busy. Master Ernest, how about you go back upstairs
with Miss Winston to rest? I''ll call you when they return home."
Ernest nced at the butler and said, "Can you help pack some snacks for Leah and I? We''ll have it
upstairs."

fruits and meats. "Would you like me to take it upstairs for you?"
"Nope," Ernest took the tray and said to the housekeeper, "Slice half of the cake up for us."
The housekeeper was stunned and looked at the cake. They had not celebrated together yet, so
how could it be cut?
"Butler, do you really think Maria and Liam will be back soon?" Ernest asked.
The butler was silent.
"They won''t be back tonight, surely." Ernest immediately ruined the butler''s hopes.
"I''ll give you half of the cake right now. Wait, perhaps you should take the whole thing. I''ll make
another one," The butler replied.
Ernest smiled at the butler and said, "That''s more like it. Thanks."
He brought the food and Leah upstairs before he came down for the cake. Then, the butler smiled
teasingly. "Master Ernest, your girlfriend is quite beautiful and cute indeed."
Ernest frowned as soon as he heard that, and he threw a pointed look at the butler. "I know how
good-looking my girlfriend is. I don''t want you to keep looking at her."
The butler paused before he waved his hand. "Master Ernest, that''s not what I''m doing. I''m just
saying you have good taste."
"Thank you." Ernest smiled faintly and went upstairs with the cake.
When he returned, Leah asked in confusion, "How do you know that Liam and Maria won''t be back
so soon?"
"That''s because Liam is going home soon, and they''ll cherish every moment of alone time they
have." Ernest pinned Leah down onto the bed and looked into her eyes. "Plus, I think they assumed
we won''t leave our bed anytime soon, so that''s why they decided not toe back."
"Huh? Really? Can we do that?" Leah was taken aback.

"Well, not really, but they should understand the feeling of meeting your long- distance partner,"
Ernest smiled at Leah and said, "I''ve been deprived for a very long time. Gary, Celeste, Liam, Maria,
and my parents have all made my life very hard with their disys of affection. Honestly, it really
riled me up, but thankfully you''re here to help me calm down."
