Chapter 1717
Cindy continued to bawl hysterically.
Celeste''s eyes were fixed on her. Since Cindy was still able to speak intelligibly, it seemed that she
had notpletely lost it.
Celeste took a deep breath.

She felt as though she had never been as clearheaded as she was at that moment.
And she sensed that it would take more than that to provoke Cindy.
"It has all been nothing but your wishful thinking. Mr. Heinz never liked you, and neither did Sinir.
He was merely using you as a means for him to fulfill his needs," said Celeste.
"No, that''s not it. Sinir was the one that propelled me to stardom. He needs me, he likes me, and
he cares about me. You''re mistaken," Cindy retorted.
"He doesn''t like you. He was only using you to make money. You''re the one who needs him. You
thought you had him wrapped around your little finger, but in reality, you were just a tool for him to
make money," Celeste continued, trying to provoke
Cindy.
"Shut up," Cindy hissed, suddenly lifting her gaze to look at Celeste. The sight of Celeste seemed to
send her into a trance. She stared at Celeste with a nk look in her eyes. After a moment, she
murmured, "Vann, is that you?"
Her tone was very gentle, and there was a quiver in her voice as if she was uncertain and afraid of
rming the person in front of her.
Vann? Celeste thought to herself.
She instantly understood that Cindy had mistaken her for Yannie.
Cindy was most likely referring to Yannie.
Celeste had not known that she resembled her mother until muchter. It was a pity that she did not
have a photo of Yannie since she had never seen her mother.
Seeing that Cindy had mistaken her for Yannie, an idea came to her mind, and she decided to make
the best of the opportunity.
Celeste pursed her lips and said, "Cindy, how dare you call me by my name?"
Cindy shuddered at the question and avoided Celeste''s eyes. "Yann, don''t be angry. I didn''t do it on
purpose." "I think you did it on purpose." Celeste kept her tone cold and low, further disconcerting
Cindy.
Cindy shook her head. "I didn''t do it on purpose. Sinir lied to you and deceived us both. He was
the one who harmed you. Don''te looking for me. It was him."
Wracked with guilt, she was terror-stricken.
Otherwise, she would not have shuddered in fear in that way.
Also, she would not have passed the buck to Sinir.
Celeste sneered, "Sinir is indeed a scum. I''ll definitely get even with him. However, don''t act like
you didn''t have anything to do with it. Do you think I''ll believe you?"
Cindy kept shaking her head. "Vann, I didn''t. Trust me. I would never hurt you. I was just jealous of
you."
"Jealous of me?" Celeste was baffled, not knowing why Cindy would be jealous of Yannie. "What
were you jealous about?"
"I was jealous that Sinir was actually interested in you, and it annoyed me. As for you, I don''t
believe that you were unaware of what happened between Sinir and me, yet you continued to be
with him." As Cindy spoke, her expression changed, and hatred shed in her eyes. "You knew that
he came looking for me at midnight and slept with me, but you still had an affair with him. Yannie,
you brought all this upon yourself."
Celeste''s heart lurched.
She wondered if Yannie was an unprincipled woman.
She was confused, and she could not bring herself to believe it. It could be that Cindy had distorted
the truth.
She took a deep breath. Instead of answering, she asked, "I brought this upon myself? Are you
saying I knew everything? Cindy, between the two of us, who''s the inhumane one?"
"Yannie, don''t act so innocent. You knew it. Do you know what I hate the most about you?" Cindy
snarled, ring at Celeste. Then, she lowered her head and said resentfully, "I hate you for feigning
to be weak and delicate. You used the so-called gentleness of a woman to make Sinir fall head
over heels for you. You are such a conniving b*tch. You''re despicable."
Celeste frowned and stared at Cindy briefly before she replied, "Atst, you''ve admitted that you
hate me. That was why you wanted to murder me."
"Yes, I wanted you dead. With you gone, I''d be free from one of the thorns in my side," Cindy
answered distractedly. Suddenly, she gritted her teeth and said, "You shouldn''t have set your eyes
on Sinir. You''re contemptible. If you died, I would only need to deal with Monica. I could also
keep your child for myself so that Sinir would never know that you had given birth to his child."
Here, she cackled withughter.
She looked even crazier than before.
Noticing the change in Cindy, Celeste looked at her directly, smirking. "You''ve finally shown your
true colors. You intentionally killed Yannie."
"So what? Not only did I want you to be dead, but your daughter too. Unfortunately, I couldn''t make
it in time." A cold smile appeared on Cindy''s lips. "Even so, your daughter wille to no good end.
She shouldn''t have fallen in love with Heinz''s son. He''s a proud boy, and there''s no doubt that he''ll
ditch her in the future."
Celeste gasped.
Cindy was bad to the bone. Celeste thought to herself.
And she was tantly cursing Celeste.
"You don''t have to worry about that. You''d better worry about yourself," Celeste replied coldly,
"You''ve now be an ugly soul. Our appearance is a reflection of our thoughts. Since you''re
ckhearted, it shows on your ugly face."
Cindy shook her head vehemently, unable to stand being called ugly. "You''re the ugly one!" she
shouted.
Celeste pursed her lips and carefully sized Cindy up. Then, she picked up the mirror from the bed
and grabbed Cindy''s face, forcing her to look into the mirror together.
"Take a look. Which one of us is the ugly one?"
Forced to look into the mirror, Cindy saw a young girl with bright eyes, white teeth, red lips, fair skin,
striking features, and glossy hair. She also saw an old woman with a wrinkled face, pallid
complexion, and obvious facial peach fuzz. After she stopped using luxury skincare products, dark
spots had mottled her skin, and she could no longer mask the imperfections.
She screamed as if she had been scalded. "Take the mirror away! Take it away from me!"
Celeste kept a firm hold on Cindy and stopped her from dodging, forcing her to look into the mirror.
Then, she said slowly and clearly, "You wanted to harm Yannie from the very beginning. You''re a
loathsome and wicked woman. I always thought that you weren''t directly involved in Yannie''s death.
I thought that you adopted me because you also felt guilty. I didn''t think that you were so malicious
and harbored ill intentions toward Yannie all along."
Gazing at the people in the mirror, Cindy closed her eyes in horror.
She refused to look into the mirror and seemed not to have heard what Celeste said.
Celeste finally realized that Cindy was the one that caused her mother''s death.
It was not indirectly.
She had deliberately nned to murder Yannie from the very beginning.
Celeste grabbed Cindy''s hair, pulling it hard, and said furiously, "Open your eyes and look at
yourself. The devil inside this mirror is you. You, Cindy White, are an ugly devil."
The pain caused Cindy to open her eyes and see her own reflection in the mirror again.
In an instant, her eyes widened in fear.
She struggled, shaking her head and reaching out to push Celeste away.
However, Celeste gripped her hand. Cindy had just undergone a major operation and had lost a lot
of blood, so she was very feeble since she had not recovered yet. Hence, Celeste did not have to
exert much strength to incapacitate her.
Celeste said fiercely, "Look carefully. This is your retribution. You tried to harm others but ended up
harming yourself. You deserve it." "Let me go," Cindy cried out, trying to twist out of
Celeste''s grasp.
They struggled for a while.
Cindy refused to look at herself in the mirror no matter what, so she used all her might to resist.
Celeste was also very stubborn. She insisted on making Cindy look.
She felt rage boiling in her. She could not control herself when she thought about how that woman
had harmed her biological mother, tried to seduce Uncle Jones, and made Gary shed blood. She
felt an overwhelming urge to choke her to death.
At the same time, something transpired outside the ward.
A tall figure rushed up to Alex in a hurry.
Alex was relieved to see the person. "Master Gary, you''re finally here."
