Chapter 1602
"It''s okay. Honestly, you don''t have to carry me. I can walk by myself." Leah felt like she was acting
a little dramatic, so she smiled embarrassedly.
Ernest shook his head at her and said, "It''s okay. I''ll hold you, and I''ll be gentler."
Sure enough, Ernest very carefully carried Leah into the bathroom and ced her lightly on the
toilet bowl. He even asked worriedly, "Is this okay? Do you need my help?"
Leah immediately shook her head and replied awkwardly, "No need, I can do it myself."
During breakfast, as soon as Leah sat down, Ernest filled her te up with all sorts of food. He
made her scrambled eggs, avocado toast with shrimp, and a fruit sd on the side. It was a very
healthy meal.
Leah looked down at her te. Eggs, toast, and sd. She asked him in amazement, "Your
efficiency is mind-blowing. How did you prepare all this so early in the morning?"
Ernest looked at the sunshine outside and said, "It''s not early morning. It''s already past noon. This
is our brunch." "Oh, it''s sote already?" Leah hadn''t looked at the time at all. She subconsciously
looked out of the window and noticed that the sun did indeed seem much warmer.
The sun was already high up in the sky. Didn''t that mean that it was noon?
They stayed up the entire night and fell asleep at dawn. If it wasn''t for that phone call, she wouldn''t
have woken up at all.
Seated at the table, Leah could still feel her body aching. One could imagine how vigorous they had
gotten the night before. Every little move she made sent shockwaves of pain through her.
She took a deep breath and her face turned slightly red.
She found it amazing how they were having breakfast together after having been intimate the night
before.
He was bing more and more gentle towards her. Even his gaze on her was sweet like honey,
sticking onto her. He was loyal yet soft.
Ernest kept serving her more food. "Eat more. You are too thin."
The night before, when he was holding her in his arms, he was a little worried. Perhaps because
she had fallen sick for a couple days, she had lost quite a bit of weight.
"No, no, I''m eating too much." Leah shook her head. The mere sight of the pile of food on her te
was scaring her.
"Why not?" Ernest frowned and recalled how much she had eaten during that time they hiked up the
mountain. "You used to eat a lot before. Why don''t you want to eat now?"
Leah was stunned. Honestly, she wanted to say that she didn''t feel like moving from how
ufortable she was feeling.
She couldn''t bring herself to eat anything, but she didn''t want to say that to him. Because if she did,
he would definitely feel guilty. Hence, she decided not to say anything so that he wouldn''t worry.
Leah immediately shook her head and said, "I was just acting a little weak, that''s all. If I eat too
much, I''m worried you''ll make fun of me."
"Why would I do that?" Ernest replied with a smile.
"Then, pass me a little more. I''ll eat loads so I can gain weight. Will I be nicer to hold then?"
Listening to Leah''s words, he observed how she flinched even when she took a breath. She
instantly understood that she was just saying all this to protect his feelings. Leah knew him so well,
she was very smart.
He suddenly realized what a precious girl he had met. She knew it all, even when he didn''t say a
thing. Besides that, she was so considerate and genuine. She always faced everything bravely.
Really, there was nothing bad he could say about her.
"Eat more fruits, they''re high in vitamins." Ernest passed her a few more pieces. "Come on, I''ll feed
you. Just open your mouth."
Leah froze for a moment before she smiled sheepishly. "I''m not a child. I can eat on my own."
Ernest looked at her adoringly. "I know that it hurts when you move."
Leah was speechless.
Ernest moved his chair over to her and held a fruit to her mouth.
Leah didn''t know how to react. She had no idea he had seen through her agony.
It was true that she didn''t want to raise her arm because it hurt so much.
By feeding her, it would help her to prevent lifting her sore muscles.
She was very touched.
She opened her mouth wide and bit down on the fruit.
His charming face was so close to hers, and his gaze was so loving. Under his care, Leah ate as
much as she could. Eventually, her stomach rounded out from how full she was. Leah sighed and
said, "I''m so full, I can''t eat anymore."
Ernest nodded and said, "Go wash your mouth and then get back in bed."
"Okay."
He even prepared her mouthwash for her. She really felt like a princess that was being spoiled.
His delicate care melted her inside out.
"Stop bustling about. Hurry up and eat. You haven''t eaten much since you had to take care of me."
Leah reached out to pull him and pressed him down on his seat. "Eat quickly."
"Do you want to lie down?" asked Ernest.
"I''ll stay here and apany you while you eat. Then, we''ll see." Leah shook her head. "I''m not
that weak. If I tell anyone about this, they''ll probablyugh at me. I''m so pathetic that I even need
you to feed me."
"It''s my duty," said Ernest gently. "I brought the pain onto you, so I should be the one to take care of
you."

Leah became even more embarrassed.
She lowered her head, and her face was blushed, making her look extremely endearing.
Seeing her expression, Ernest narrowed his eyes. Even with just one nce, he could feel his body
reacting heavily.
He immediately turned his gaze away. He was afraid that if he stared any longer, he wouldn''t be
able to suppress his urges. He had already put her through a lot, he couldn''t start again so soon.
He had to restrain himself.
After a quick meal, Ernest rinsed his month and carried Leah to the room. He set her down and
said, "Rest well, I need to head out for a while."
"What are you going out for?" Instantly, she showed concern. Her longing for him was obvious.
"I''m going to buy something and will be back soon." Ernest kissed her on the forehead. "Wait for me
for half an hour."
Leah paused for a moment before nodding. "Alright, you don''t have to rush. I''m going to sleep. Take
care of yourself on the road."
"I will." Ernest tucked her in and went out.
He was actually heading out to buy Leah some ointment to relieve her pain and inmmation. He
hadn''t controlled himself well enough the night before, so the injury he left on her was quite serious.
Seeing as how she could barely even move, he was really worried. Hence, he hoped that some
medication could soothe her torment.
Ernest went to the pharmacy and bought some painkillers, then he also stopped by the supermarket
to buy some fruits before hurrying back.
Unexpectedly, he ran into Hogan downstairs.
It seemed like he had been there for a while with no intention of heading up.
When Ernest saw him, his eyes immediately turned cold. "What are you doing here?"
Seeing Ernest, Hogan came over. "I''m here to see you."
"Me?" Ernest narrowed his eyes slightly and nodded. "Well, what is it?"
"Are you being serious with Leah?" Hogan hesitated for a bit, but he eventually still asked.
Ernest frowned. Technically, he had no need to exin anything to Hogan. But from what he could
tell, Hogan wasn''t here to cause trouble. He seemed to have thought things through.
"This is between me and Leah. I don''t really owe you an exnation. But since you''ve asked, I''ll be
honest. Leah is my girlfriend, and she''s going to be my wife. Please don''t harass her from now on. If
you want to treat her as a friend, I can ept that. I''m not a petty man. But if you have any other
intentions, I won''t allow it."
Hogan was slightly stunned and looked at Ernest carefully. After a long time, he smiled bitterly and
said, "I know you are the second son of the Jones family. I also know that your family is obviously
rich. I am just worried that you''re ying with Leah''s feelings, and that you''ll grow bored of her."
"What do my feelings for Leah have to do with my family? What do two people''s feelings have to do
with anyone else? If you like her, then you should ept everything about her. I appreciate the
good things about her, and I want to protect her heart. It''s not about forcing someone to do things
your way. Hogan, you lost the moment you brought my family background up. Leah didn''t pick you
entirely because of your own issues," Ernest said tly. "You don''t like her, you just want to possess
her. Your feelings are too selfish."
Hogan gave a bitter smile and said, "You are right. I ept your criticism. I hope that you will
always treat Leah like this and not let her get hurt. I guess in a way, you should thank me for not
caring enough for her. If I had done things right, you probably wouldn''t be in the picture."
In the end, everything fell to the hands of fate.
Hearing this, Ernest paused for a moment. After thinking for a while, he nodded and said, "You''re
right. Thank you."
