Chapter 1523
Gary nced at Celeste. She had to ask for his help, after all, so he found it amusing.
In truth, he had been waiting for Celeste to ask him about it, but she did not say a word even after
he had waited for a long time.
He resisted the urge to the point where he almost couldn''t hold on any longer.
Gary knew that Celeste had always been a strong and independentdy, but she would still seek
help when necessary. That was how she was behaving right then as she asked him about it when
she could not find out the answer herself.
It had him feel that Celeste was actually not a stubborn girl. He smiled and said, "Do you really want
to know?"
What nonsense was that?
Of course, Celeste wanted to know. She had already asked him, yet he was still putting on airs.
Celeste felt annoyed, but no one could help her at that point. If she went to ask Eason, Eason would
probably think she was stupid. So after she could not find anything wrong despite looking through
the documents for a long time, she couldn''t help asking Gary for help.
"Of course I want to know. Can''t you see that I''m asking you about it?"
"I know that you''re asking me for help. However, I don''t think that you''ll be able to understand it
even if I exin it to you," Gary smiled as he spoke.
From the look in his eyes, it seemed like he was teasing her, which irritated Celeste.
She retorted in a rude manner, "If you won''t tell me, how do you know that I''m incapable of learning
it?"
"Calm down. I''m not mocking you." The corner of Gary''s lips curled up into another smile as he
spoke, "You should know that I''ve gone through reports for more than once. Back in Boston, I
needed to read their reports to determine errors all the time. You''re a beginner."
He nced at the screen of Celeste''sputer and found that she had jotted down problems
detected.
He read it seriously before saying, "You''ve marked it clearly. It''s actually a great thing to be able to
find that out."
"You''re humiliating me," she mumbled in annoyance.

"No." Gary shook his head, "To be honest, I didn''t expect you to notice this. I thought you wouldn''t
be able to see anything wrong with it, but it seems that I''ve underestimated you."
Celeste did not think it was apliment at all. She felt that it was aplete humiliation, so she
refuted, boiling with rage, "You don''t have to tell me that. In fact, I know that I''m dumb. You want to
laugh at me, but you''re afraid that I''ll be embarrassed. If you want to mock me, do it."
With his eyebrows slightly lifted, Gary chuckled softly, "No, I''m not mocking you. If you''re my
girlfriend, I might feelfortable doing it, but now, we''re just colleagues."
Celeste tensed. She did not like it when he mentioned such stuff.
Her face darkened.
"So, I will retain the demeanor of a gentleman. I won''t jeer at you. Rx."
The more he talked about it, the more insulted Celeste felt.
She red at him and felt somewhat annoyed.
When he met her gaze, Gary smiled and went on, "I feel as if we''re not just colleagues from the way
you red at me just then."
Celeste''s heart clenched.
"Celeste, why don''t you be my girlfriend?" Gary
asked yfully, "I''ll teach you everything I know seriously. If we''re colleagues, I might gloss it
through. Why don''t you consider it?"
Upon hearing that, Celeste felt even more upset. She had a feeling that Gary was doing that on
purpose.
Her face sank, "Forget it. You don''t have to answer my question. I''ll directly ask Master Eason for
help."
As she spoke, Celeste stood up and prepared to leave.
Gary blocked her way, "Ask Eason?"
Celeste nodded and replied, "Yes, Eason."
She''d rather ask Eason than be taunted by him.
Besides, he would always use that to make fun of her and upset her. So she decided not to ask him
for help anymore.
However, Gary continued to block her way. Without impatience and humiliation on his face, he
locked his scorching gaze on her, "Eason has made it very clear that you need to find the problems
by yourself. If you haven''t found the problems lying in those documents, you will only be wasting his
time."
"It''s still better than having to ask you for help," Gary smiled and said faintly, "Celeste, to be honest,
you''re in Jones Estate''s branchpany because of Uncle Logan. He knew you, so he ordered
Eason to guide you. Have you ever thought of the fact that if it weren''t for Uncle Logan, would
anyone here be willing to guide you step-by-step?"
Celeste refuted in a low voice.
Celeste was stunned, with surprise shing across her eyes. She knew that he was right.
"What I''m saying is that whenever you encounter any problems, shouldn''t you figure out the solution
instead of asking others? If you''re always asking others, they''ll think that you''re useless. Even if you
want to learn, you should learn in secret and with the correct method."
Celeste was annoyed as she rebuked in a low voice, "So you''ve finally admitted it. You''re saying
that I''m stupid, aren''t you?"
"Look, you''re paying too much attention to this petty stuff." Gary lifted his eyebrows, "I didn''t mean
that. I exined several survival rules of the real world, and you can''t stand it anymore. Alright. Go
ahead. Go and ask Eason. I''m sure he''ll drive you out the door."
Celeste frowned, "I don''t believe you."
"Go and give it a try," He urged.
Celeste pursed her lips, "I will."
That time, Gary finally let go of her. He did not block her way anymore. Instead, he allowed Celeste
to walk past him.
Annoyed, Celeste approached Eason''s office. Soon after, she knocked on his door.
"Come in." Eason''s voice sounded from the inside.
Celeste took a deep breath. She pushed the door open and entered Eason''s office.
At a nce, one could see that Eason was indeed busy. He had his head buried in the pile of
documents on his desk.
Celeste hesitated as she pondered on how she should structure her sentence. Eason looked up at
Celeste and asked lightly, "Oh, Celeste. What''s the matter?"
Celeste hesitated for a moment before saying, "Master, for the report, there are some things I don''t
understand. I want to ask you about it."
"Oh, I see," Eason smiled and said, "Gary haspleted it. You should ask him. I''m quite busy right
now. Let him teach you."
Celeste was stunned, feeling particrly embarrassed.
"Go on." Eason smiled at Celeste and reminded her, "Remember to close the door for me."
He sent Celeste out with just one sentence.
Although there were no signs of criticism or harshness in his voice, Celeste''s heart instantly sank
after hearing what he had said. She felt that what Gary had said was right. Eason was indeed busy.
How could he have the time to answer her foolish questions?
She exited the room in a flurry. At the door, she noticed Gary''s calm and handsome face with just a
nce.
All at once, she felt extremely awkward. She then returned to her seat with her head lowered.
Gary looked at her, but he said nothing. Deep down, Celeste was utterly flustered. If Gary said
anything at that moment, she might really burst into tears.
Fortunately, he remained silent.
She lowered her head and continued to read the documents carefully.
Gary looked at her, got up, printed a document, and handed it to her.
"Have a look. These are some of the problems I''ve picked. Give it a read." His tone was gentle.
Celeste was slightly stunned. She did not take it over.
Gary continued, "Curiosity and yearning for knowledge aren''t embarrassing at all. In fact, it''s nothing
to be ashamed of. Don''t feel ashamed.
Come on, Celeste, take a look. This might be useful to you."
When his gentle voice drifted into her ears, Celeste fell into a trance for a moment.
She did not hesitate any longer. She took the documents over and read them carefully.
When she saw what Gary had highlighted, she had her eyes widened.
She turned around to flip through the original document. That new discovery was a really
eyeopening experience for her.
Gary had easily discovered all those problems when she could not. Besides, he had even
summarized all of it.
Right then, it seemed that he had detected and sorted out over a dozen mistakes in the report,
while she had only found one.
That sharp contrast caused Celeste to feel inexplicably dumb. She was so upset that she wondered
if she had chosen the right profession.
She was not proficient at dealing with figures. However, since she had chosen the career, she did
not want tog behind.
