    Chapter 1520

Gary''s appearance caused Celeste to be a little dazed.

"Eason, you should take Celeste and Gary under your care," instructed Alex.

    Celeste was dumbfounded.

Eason Trevino was initially responsible for guiding her, but right then, he was required to take Gary

under his care as well. She didn''t know if Alex''s arrangement was intentional.

    She was somewhat hesitant.

Eason was a young man in his thirties. Not only was he a Cambridge graduate, he''s also capable

and familiar with thew and culture of Ennd. He would always have a stern face and took every

    task seriously.

She had been working with him for three days. At one point, a table she created was not well done,

so Eason lectured her before proceeding to teach her some of his own methods.

After she used it, she realised that she could obtain twice the result with half the effort.

"No problem." Eason nced at Gary, then at

Celeste. He then told Alex, "I should warn you that I have strict requirements. I hope Mr. Gary can

    handle it."

Alex smiled and said, "Continue your work as usual. Guide them properly. They''re all smart

    youngsters."

    "Alright, no problem."

"Celeste." Alex shifted his gaze to look at her, "From now on, you will work alongside Gary. The two

of you will help each other out. I hope you two can work well together."

Celeste was taken aback. She stared at Alex, who smiled before turning away.

That arrangement caught her off guard, but they were in thepany after all. She nced at Gary.

He walked over and nodded at Eason, "Mr. Trevino, I look forward to learning from you in the

    future."

"Of course." Eason sized him up before putting on a slight smile, "Let me take a look at your thesis,

and I''ll assign some tasks for you."

"Sure." Gary nodded and fished his phone out of his pocket, "Mr. Trevino, what''s your email

address? I''ll send it to you."

    Eason told him.

    Soon, he received Gary''s thesis.

He skimmed through it, saying, "Your research topic is simr to Celeste''s. Let''s deal with it this

way. I''ll ask her to share her work for the past few days. Take a look at her progress, and I''ll assign

new tasks for the both of you."

Before Celeste could even speak, Gary shed her a smile, "Thank you, Miss White."

He was so polite as if he didn''t know her at all.

    Celeste felt unpleasant at that.

She nodded and smiled formally, "Sure, I''ll teach you what Mr. Trevino taught me. I believe a smart

man like you will catch up in no time."

"How do you know that I''m smart?" Gary chuckled and asked in return.

Celeste was taken aback by the question, "I can tell."

"Then I guess I am." Gary epted thepliment by smiling faintly as he said, "I can guarantee

you that I can master everything you''ve learned for the past three days in just a day. I hope I can

catch up with you by tomorrow morning so that I won''t be a burden."

Upon hearing that, Eason questioned, "I heard that you''re proficient inputer science. In fact,

this data is simple. I don''t quite understand why you have toe all the way to Ennd for the

    internship."

A trace of nervousness shed in Gary''s eyes as heughed and brushed it off, "Mr. Trevino, you

think too highly of me. That''s just a rumour. I''m sure you heard of it from Uncle Logan. Truth be told,

Uncle Logan doesn''t know me well. I prefer collecting real- time data instead of using technology to

    steal other''s work."

"Well then, work hard," Eason replied upon hearing that.

    "Alright."

"Celeste, let Gary use theputer next to you. You can sit next to each other."

"Yes." Although Celeste had agreed to it, her heart was filled with unwillingness.

When Gary took his seat beside her, the two of them began discussing the materials they had

learned in the past few days. Celeste felt as if she had gone back in time to four years ago when

    they had been in school.

At that time, Celeste treated Gary like a friend while Gary didn''t get along with the others. Right

then, it seemed that they had travelled back in time. Gary didn''t talk to anyone else in thepany,

sitting beside her and listening quietly.

Upon seeing him in his best behaviour, Celeste taught him everything she had learned in the past

    few days.

Gary indeed had an excellent memory. After a quick nce, he could easily point out the disordered

parts of the data she hadpiled.

"Look, you made a mistake right here." Gary pointed out, "Did you suffer when you were majoring in

statistics? You must have had a hard timepiling the data."

Celeste was stunned. She took a closer look and found out that there was indeed a mistake.

She looked at Gary beside her in surprise and realized that what he had said was correct and

    urate.

Her face blushed red as she felt slightly ashamed. She had made a mistake and had not shown

those documents to Eason yet. Sighing, she asked, "You''ve mastered everything, but why are you

    still here for an internship?"

Gary looked at her and gave her a faint smile, "Why are you so interested in my internship? There''s

no need for it, right? This is the Jones family''s business. The old fogey hopes that I can take over

the business in the future. I''m still considering that. I shouldn''t give up because of you, right?"

"No, you know that''s not what I meant." Celeste was quick to retort, deepening the blush on her

    face.

"Ahh." Gary nodded as he looked at her seriously, "Miss White, I hope that we can separate our

work from our personal matters. I just happened to spot an error in your data, so I pointed it out. Of

course, that doesn''t mean that I''m capable of everything. You still have to teach me other stuff.

Please make sure not to bring your personal feelings into our work. Let''s try to work this out,

    alright?"

    She was once again embarrassed.

Celeste was in an awkward position.

Celeste had a feeling that Gary had mentioned that on purpose, but she couldn''t refute him. She

could only reply with her face flushed red, "Of course, I''ve always been clear with setting

boundaries. Let''s continue our study, Mr. Jones."

"Yes, we ought to do so." Gary continued to read through the data.

Gary continued to point out some of Celeste''s errors throughout the process.

In the end, Celeste noticed that Gary was even stricter than Eason. He detected all the problems

Eason had informed her of and amended them.

It was even more refined than the data obtained from Eason.

Celeste felt ashamed and annoyed at that. Yet, she was impressed. She soon calmed down. She

had to admit that it was helpful for Uncle Logan to assign Gary by her side.

Celeste ended up falling silent while Gary kept talking.

Rather than saying that she was the one teaching him, it was more like Gary guiding her.

After a long while, Gary realized that Celeste hadn''t said anything in a while as she listened to

himself talking in silence. He couldn''t help asking, "Am I too talkative?"

Celeste shook her head, "No, you''re right. My calctions are disorganized, but I couldn''t find a

way to improve them. It didn''t feel right, and I was unsure of how to amend it. You pointed it out, and

I could finally discover a solution to the problem."

Upon hearing that, Gary smiled and looked at her. He continued, as if his words had another

underlying meaning to them, "So you admit that it''s necessary for me to attend this internship,

    right?"

"I''m not too sure about that, but you should be the one who knows it best yourself." Her tone was

indifferent as she continued to study the data.

She found herself to be rather dumbpared to Gary.

Gary had mentioned that he could learn three days'' worth of information in a day. Back then, she

did not believe him, but right then, seeing how they had gone through the materials in one morning

and how he could identify trials and errors, Celeste was so ashamed that she wanted to dig a hole

in the ground and bury herself in it.

    N?vel(D)ra/ma.Org exclusive ? material.

    It pissed her off.

"What are we going to do in the afternoon?" Gary looked at her and asked with a cheeky smile, "I

seem to have mastered all the materials. There''s nothing else left to do, right?"

Celeste held no expression on her face as she replied coldly, "Why don''t you ask Mr. Trevino? He

should have more arrangements for you."
