Chapter 1501

    Chapter 1501

Gary was still in a daze. He couldn''t believe what he had heard.

He couldn''t control his emotions as he stared at the door of the intensive care unit. His eyes were

    tearful and he felt bad.

"This is unreal," He murmured in a low voice.

Lowell''s voice came from behind, "You can deceive yourself all you want to while she''s in there. Do

    whatever you want."

Gary was deeply shocked and terrified. He turned around and stood in front of Lowell. His eyes

widened due to his disbelief as he mumbled, "Lowell, did she say that she was pregnant?"

Lowell looked at him and nodded, "She''s pregnant. She came here with the diagnosis papers. She

probably wanted to talk to you about this, but she saw something she shouldn''t. I don''t know what

you were doing with Janice, but you should know better."

Gary was stunned. He stood there stiffly and his face tensed up. He felt a sharp pain in his heart as

if it had been cut by a knife.

After a long time, he walked towards the door of the intensive care unit. He stood there and prayed

from the bottom of his heart, hoping that Celeste would be fine.

He looked much like an old and worn-down statue, looking both lost and forlorn.

Looking at such a scene, Janice was also stunned and didn''t know what to do, but Lowell didn''t

even bat an eye at her.

Janice looked at Lowell, the blood on his clothes frightening to even watch.

    Half an hourter.

Celeste was pushed out and her face was paler than before. The doctor apologized to them when

he came out, "I''m sorry, the child could not be saved. It was already gone when she was sent here."

Gary''s mind was buzzing. He rushed over to look at the pale girl on the hospital bed. Her brows

were tightly knitted together as she was still in great pain. Gary felt remorseful as he held Celeste''s

    hand.

Just then, Celeste seemed to have woken up and saw him.

Subconsciously, she retracted her hand, and such a reflexive action left Gary stunned. He didn''t

    know how to react.

He gulped and spoke with great difficulty, "Celeste, it''s me."

Celeste tilted her head slightly to avoid looking at him.

Her heart was in such a state of agony that words could not describe how she felt. She didn''t want

to talk about it anymore. She knew that the child was gone as the doctor had already informed her

    in the intensive care unit.

    She was very sad.

She was so sorrowful that she wished to die with the child.

It turned out that she wanted the child all along.

Celeste was hesitant before, but she could not withstand the loss once it actually happened.

She did not know that she would behave like this. Perhaps humans were really unpredictable,

    including herself.

She suddenly regretteding to Boston. Her child might still be alive if she didn''te here, but

    even so, things were unpredictable.

Her heart was aching and the pain numbed her thoughts.

When she turned around, she saw Janice standing at the end of the bed. She closed her eyes in

agony the moment she saw Janice as she no longer wanted to see both Gary and Janice.

She didn''t forget about Janice''s deration that she wouldn''t give up on Gary.

Moreover, Gary''s attitude toward Janice was ambiguous. She was too tired trying to bother about

    such matters.

After losing her child, she did not want to think about anything else.

Soon, Celeste was pushed into a ward.

When the doctor asked if there was anyone she wanted to meet, she denied it and told him that she

    just wanted to be alone.

Gary, Lowell and Janice were all left outside the ward. In the meantime, Celeste was lying inside

alone motionless as if she was asleep.

Gary was standing at the door. He was too afraid to enter.

Her actions just now were still clear in his mind. It scared him.

"Janice, go out and wait for me," Lowell nced at Janice and ordered softly.

Janice was stunned. She knew Lowell had something to say to her.

Lowell stared at Janice, who was standing still, with a slightly cold and unfriendly gaze.

She had feelings for Gary and Gary did not know how to avoid her.

As such, as Gary''s uncle, Lowell decided to help Gary make a decision.

In fact, he regretted it a lot as he should have stopped everything at the very beginning.

If Celeste didn''t see Janice and Gary together, perhaps the child would''ve been fine. But what was

    the point of regretting now?

Janice''s face was pale. She looked at Gary and eventually left without saying anything.

Lowell said to Gary, "I''m going to settle the hospital bills and head back to change my clothes. I

have a feeling that Celeste doesn''t want to see you for the time being. Hence, I''ll stay here and

keep an eye on her, but not in such clothes. I''lle back as soon as I''ve changed."

"I need to be here," Gary whispered, "You can go."

Lowell reached out to pat Gary on the shoulder before leaving.

When he arrived downstairs, he saw Janice lingering outside. Lowell walked over and grunted,

    "Janice."

Janice immediately turned around and froze when she saw the bloodstains on Lowell''s clothes. She

did not even dare to look him in the eyes.

"Janice, you must have seen what happened just now clearly. I don''t think I need to say anything

else. You should be able to guess what I am going to say."

Janice was stunned and looked at Lowell, dumbfounded. She found that Lowell was ring at her

    lividly.

His unfriendly gaze made her feel guilty and scared.

His eyes were no longer as warm and tender as before. They were only filled with icy coldness.

Janice suddenly felt a little flustered. She was frustrated and annoyed because of Lowell''s words

    and felt ufortable.

"Lowell, I''m really sorry. I just wanted to see you," Janice exined in a soft tone while panicking.

She hoped that Lowell would believe her.

"Enough," Lowell rebuked, "I thought that Celeste''s circumstances today would influence you, but it

is obvious from your exnation that it did not. Since that is the case, there is no need for me to be

    polite anymore."

"Lowell, listen to me. I didn''t mean to. I really dide to see you," Janice quickly exined, "I''m

    telling the truth!"

"It''s a lie that you''vee to see me since you''re just trying to get close to Gary," Lowell interrupted

Janice''s words, "I haven''t been able to expose you for all these years, but that doesn''t mean I''m

clueless about it. Your heart isn''t with me, it''s with Gary."

Lowell''s tone was still calm, but it was much deeper than before.

This was the case for some people. They could be able to speak very harsh words without putting

on a stern expression. However, their words were enough to kill. Janice''s entire body froze and she

couldn''t speak for a long time.

Lowell looked at her expressionlessly. His gaze was sharp and smart, as though he was able to

read her mind with just one nce.

Janice struggled to face Lowell, but she lowered her head after a while.

Lowell saw this andmented lightly, "Let''s make it clear now. You don''t have toe to our

    apartment anymore in the future."

"Lowell, you won''t even let mee over now?" Janice eximed. Her eyes were filled with shock

as she tried to argue, "Even if it isn''t because of Gary, I should be able toe visit because of you.

    We are friends!"

"Celeste has already been agreed upon by my older brother and sister as Gary''s future wife. She is

also their daughter. She is sincere and well-behaved, but that does not mean that the Jones family

can be bullied at will." "Janice, what do you think of everyone? How else will the Jones family find

justice for the child who has just died? If I ignore this, wouldn''t I be a fool?"

"Don''t you still want to be friends with me?" Janice murmured.

She couldn''t believe that Lowell, who used to be so gentle to her, would say such cold words to her

one day. It was too cruel.

Lowell''s eyes were filled with disappointment. Thest bit of pity he had for Janice had disappeared

with her question. He looked at Janice and refuted tly.

"There is no need for us to be friends anymore. I don''t have time to waste on an insignificant

person, especially on a woman with ulterior motives. You just killed a child of the Jones family yet

you''re still acting so calmly. It''s ridiculous and I feel sad for my stupidity. Let''s just treat each other

as strangers from now on and pretend that we never knew each other."

Lowell turned around and left. He neither paid attention to Janice behind him nor wanted to look at

    her ever again.

Janice was stunned by his determination as she watched his silhouette fade into the distance.
