Chapter 1435

    Chapter 1435

    At Northern City''s studio city.

Maria drove Yvonne''s car to pick up Leah on the way to the studio city. After parking the car, the two

    got off and walked in.

"Is there a shoot going on?" This was the first time Maria had visited the ce, and she was very

    curious.

As she walked, she saw a lot of people at the entrance of the studio city, outside of the old-

    fashioned buildings.

    They seemed to be tourists.

"There are plenty of them." Leah said, "I''vee here several times. I''ve been here with reporters,

cinephiles, the heads of fan clubs. In short, I''ve been here several times,"

"You sure know a lot," Maria eximed with heartfelt admiration.

"Of course. One must aspire." Leah smiled and said, "Let''s go. We''re going to see a huge star."

"Who is it?" Seeing Leah so excited, Maria couldn''t help but ask.

"Cindy White." Leah said, "Her acting skills have improved recently. She has filmed a period drama

recently. They''re a hit nowadays; for both their attention to detail and their storyline."

Maria was stunned. "You''re a fan of Cindy White?"

"Of course. To be honest, I became a fan three years ago, and her acting skills had grown to the

point of perfection. In the past, I always felt that it was an exaggeration, even though I agreed she

was good. Now that I look at it, she has a kind of charm. Every look in her eyes, every movement, is

very convincing. Plus, she can urately portray a character."

Maria was very confused upon hearing Leah''s praise of Cindy.

She did not have a good impression of her.

"What''s wrong? It seems like you''re not interested in Miss White." Leah was good at reading

    people''s expressions.

"You''re right." Maria nodded. "I don''t like her."

In fact, Maria didn''t like Cindy at all.

    "Why?"

"To each their own, I guess." Maria couldn''t tell Leah about what happened in the past, but she was

    very clear about the result.

    Content property of N?velDra/ma.Org.

Leah shrugged. "It doesn''t matter. It''s not like I''m fixated on her. I could just easily fall for someone

    else tomorrow."

"Are you that fickle?" Maria looked at her in surprise.

"I''m rather emotional." Leah chuckled. "Us artistic types are usually like that."

"Then, when you find a boyfriend in the future, will you swap him out often?" Maria batted her eyes

    in curiosity.

"Pfft!" Leah burst outughing. "I never thought of having a boyfriend. Why would I do that?"

"Sounds like you''re not very interested in men." Maria mused as they walked.

Leah nodded in reply. "There aren''t any good men in the first ce, and they are very fickle.

Besides, the male lead I''m writing about is such an outstanding man. With him, do you think I would

    fall for another man?"

"Leah, you sure are a weirdo." Maria smiled, finding her unpredictable.

"You''re not the first one who''s said that." Leah didn''t take it as an insult. Instead, she agreed with it

wholeheartedly. "I''m weird like that. If I enjoy yourpany, you can say whatever you want about

me. If I don''t, then I''ll pick a fight with you every chance I get." "Are you saying that you and I get

along well?" "Of course." Leah nodded. "Otherwise, why would I waste my timeing here with

    you? I''m busy, you know."

Mariaughed gleefully as Leah''s words pleased her. "Leah, you''re really cute."

"C''mon, let''s go in and have a look. Are you a fan of anyone?" Leah asked.

"Me?" Maria paused for a moment and shook her head. "No one in particr."

    "That''s very rational of you."

    "You tter me."

As they spoke, the two of them entered a building. There were guards posted at the door; not

    everybody could enter.

However, Leah managed to gain entry easily.

Once inside, Maria saw Cindy dressed in a period costume that showed off her voluptuous figure. It

was clear that Cindy had maintained her figure well.

It just so happened that she was on a break the moment the two entered. Leah dragged Maria over

and whispered, "Miss White, can I have your autograph?"

Cindy looked at Leah and smiled. "You again?"

"Mhmm." "Have my assistant bring you two signed photos. I''m still working. Don''t let the director

see you and hamper the shoot." Cindy whispered.

    "Thank you, Miss White."

Just then, Cindy''s assistant gave Leah two signed photos.

Then, Maria realized she had changed to a different assistant.

Cindy happened to look over and saw Maria standing there. She paused for a moment before she

said, "It''s been a while, Miss Lowe."

Leah was stupefied as she gaped at Maria. "Do you two know each other?"

Cindy smiled. "We do. You''ve grown up, Miss Lowe."

"You look as young as ever, Miss White." Maria smiled in reply. "Your acting skills are even better

    now."

"Thank you." Cindy grinned at the both of them. "You guys have fun. I''ll go fix my makeup; my

    scene is up next."

"Sure, don''t let us interrupt you."

As soon as Cindy left, Leah pulled Maria to a quiet corner and asked, "How do you know Miss

White? You seem to have known her for a long time."

"Yeah, we have." Maria exined, "I got to know her when we were both in Ennd."

    "Oh."

That was all Maria said. She wouldn''t mention Celeste as Maria had to protect her. She wouldn''t let

Cindy get involved in Celeste''s business.

After observing the set for a while, Leah ran into someone she knew and was dragged away.

After Cindy''s shoot was over, she got her assistant to call Maria over. "Miss Lowe, Miss White would

like to have a word with you in her trailer."

Maria was a little surprised, but she nodded in understanding. "Okay."

Cindy left the shoot and returned to the trailer with Maria in tow.

    They were alone there.

Nevertheless, Cindy was still very polite, and there was a smile on her face.

Maria was well aware that Cindy was acting. After not seeing her for a few years, her skills had

    improved tremendously.

However, she did not forget her hysterics in London four years ago.

Although she was a different person now, no one could guarantee it was not an act.

"Miss White, why don''t you just get straight to the point." Maria decided to break the silence.

"Miss Lowe, you''ve grown into a fine youngdy."

"I believe you didn''t ask me toe here just topliment me, did you?" Maria didn''t want to beat

    around the bush.

"Calm down," Cindy said. "I only want to know how Celeste is doing."

"She''s fine. There''s no need for you to worry about her," Maria replied.

"You seem to hate me. There''s no need for that, right?" Cindy shot a sideways nce at Maria.

On the other hand, Maria calmly replied, "Miss White, you must be joking. Why would I hate you?

We have nothing to do with one another."

"Yeah. Honestly, I must be getting on in my years."Cindy sighed. "I keep reminiscing, and I''ll always

think about Celeste as well. I wonder if she''s all right."

    "She''s fine."

"Yeah, the Jones family is wealthy; they would never let her suffer." There was a trace of jealousy in

    Cindy''s voice.

"That''s why you don''t have to worry. Celeste is doing great," Maria said once again.

"That''s good." Cindy nodded and nced outside. "You went to the University of London, didn''t

    you?"

"Yeah, that''s right." "Then you and Liam should know each other."

Cindy kept her voice carefully neutral.

However, Maria''s expression immediately froze in ce. "Yes, I was in the same school as him."

"What a coincidence." Cindy nced at Maria again. Then, she took a bottle of water from the

trolley and handed it to Maria. "Would you like some water?"

    "No, thank you."

"Liam''s washed up after he returned home." Cindy''s tone was full of regret.

For a moment, Maria didn''t know what she meant. "What does that have to do with me?"

    "No?" Cindy chuckled. "I heard you''re a die-hard fan."

Maria''s heart suddenly skipped a beat, but she said, "As you said, Liam is washed up, and he lost a

lot of his fans. I lost interest too four years ago."
