Chapter 1163
"No." Yvonne admitted frankly, "I''ve never thought so. It''s just that I want to be shameless and
pursue you again. I was wrong in the past, so I deserved to be ridiculed by you. If it makes you
happy, you can ridicule me even more. I can handle it."
Those words instantly silenced Zachary.
Ridicule her?
If he lightly reprimanded her, he would feel irritated, but his heart would ache if he berated her
harshly.
He stared coldly at Yvonne. After a long daze, he picked up his cutlery and began to eat without
saying a word.
He couldn''t bear to do that to her.
Yvonne felt warmth in her heart. Once again, she was certain that Zachary couldn''t bear to make
her sad.
He was just a man that was cold on the outside but warm on the inside.
Looking at him, Yvonne gave a faint smile. There was no trace of grievance in her eyes as it was
only left with relief.
This made Zachary shift his gaze away not to look at her while feeling annoyed.
After a moment of silence, Zachary picked up his cutlery and ate quietly.
When Yvonne saw that he had started to eat, she let out a sigh of relief as well.
She was already full, so she waited for Zachary to finish his meal.
Zachary remainedposed the entire time. After he was done eating, he ced his cutlery on the
table and wiped his mouth with a napkin as he lifted his eyes to look at Yvonne.
Yvonne was looking at Zachary as well.

They remained silent for a long while before Yvonne spoke, "Now that we'' re done, shall we head
back to thepany?"
Zachary shook his head.
Yvonne was dumbfounded. She didn''t know what Zachary had in mind.
She took a look at her watch. She had to go back to work at half- past one. It was already past noon
and there were only forty minutes left.
"We''re going to the school," Zachary said when he stood up and went to pay the bill.
Yvonne was shocked, and she immediately became nervous, "Zachary, do you mean that we''re
going to visit Maria?"
Zachary nodded, "Yes."
Although she was shocked, Yvonne was still pleasantly surprised. With the way her daughter had
treated her the day before, she was unsure of what to do.
Heinz''s words earlier that day still echoed in her ears.
Mariacked love.
Yvonne''s heart tightened, and she felt great pain.
"Zachary, should I prepare something beforehand?" She asked nervously.
Zachary looked at her without saying anything.
Yvonne could only follow him. After getting in the car, Zachary opened his mouth to speak, "What do
you think Maria needs the most?"
Yvonne pursed her lips and spat out a word with difficulty, "Love."
Zachary''s gaze sank, and he said softly, "Not bad, at least you still know."
How could she not?
What that childcked the most was love.
A father''s love, a mother''s love, a family''s love.
But the child treated her like a stranger now that
she hade back.
Right then, she felt as if her heart was being torn apart, but she also knew that it was all her fault.
"Let''s go and visit Maria."
They arrived at Maria''s school over ten minutester. After registering their entry with their identity
cards, Zachary and Yvonne went in, found Maria''s teacher, and called Maria out.
When the little girl came out and saw Zachary and Yvonne, she was stunned for a moment. Then a
hint of joy shed across her eyes, but she suppressed herself in an instant.
The little girl rushed out but stopped in her tracks immediately.
At that moment, Zachary''s brows furrowed.
Yvonne''s heart ached so much that it felt as if it was being twisted by a knife, suffocating and
ufortable.
The child saw her, and that was why she halted in her tracks.
Maria didn''t look at her anymore. Yvonne''s gaze remained fixed on Maria, but she didn''t take
another look at her after one nce.
Yvonne''s heart continued to ache, but she didn''t dare say anything.
Zachary quickly walked over, picked up his daughter, and held the little girl in his arms.
Maria looked at her father. Putting her arms around Zachary''s neck, she said coquettishly, "Dad,
why are you here? I''m so happy."
Zachary also smiled, "I missed you, so I''m here to see you."
He knew that his daughter was overjoyed. After all, he came with her mother. Of course, she would
be delighted.
"Dad, let''s go there," Maria said to Zachary and pointed in another direction.
"Alright." Zachary walked forward with Maria in his arms, then looked at Yvonne, who had drawn to
a halt, "Follow us."
"No." Maria immediately shook her head.
Yvonne didn''t move at all. She knew that the child was throwing a tantrum but there was no need to
provoke her at a time like this.
"I''ll wait for you guys right here." She told them.
Upon hearing that, Zachary looked somewhat disappointed.
Maria was the same; there was disappointment in her eyes.
The father and daughter were both just as melodramatic.
Yvonne looked at them and said, "Actually, I feel like taking a walk together isn''t too bad either."
Maria''s eyes instantly lit up, but the next second, she said stubbornly, "Who wants you to follow us?
No one cares about you."
"Your dad does," Yvonne said shamelessly. She walked to Zachary''s side, reached out to hold his
arm, and said to her daughter, "He asked me to follow you both. So what you said doesn''t count."
Maria stared wide-eyed at Yvonne in dismay with her mouth slightly open.
"It''s useless even if you re at me. Your dad cares about me. He can''t live without me." Yvonne
repeated her deration.
Maria looked at Zachary, "Dad, look at what she just said!"
Zachary looked at Maria, then at Yvonne. He wanted to speak, but Yvonne interrupted him.
"You don''t have to look at your dad. He knows exactly what I''m thinking, and I also know what your
dad''s thinking. What''s more, I even know what you''re thinking. I am following you two regardless.
There''s nothing you can do about it even if you hate me. Even if you hate me, you can''t change the
fact that I''m your mommy." Yvonne didn''t want to give Zachary the chance to speak.
Maria pouted as she glowered at Yvonne. With a scoff, she hugged Zachary''s neck and said,
"Daddy, let me tell you a secret."
"Alright." Zachary did not exin Yvonne''s words, nor did he refute them.
Yvonne let out a sigh of relief.
She was really worried that Zachary would expose her without saving her dignity. If he did that, she
would really lose her daughter''s respect for her.
"I want to tell Dad a secret. Don''t you know when to leave?" Maria said to Yvonne rudely.
Yvonne looked at her and shook her head, "Oh, looks like my daughter is all grown up. You even
know how to keep secrets behind your mommy''s back now, don''t you?"
"You still dare to say that you''re my mommy? Is there a mother like you?"
"Yeah, but probably not many. Not everyone has the courage to give birth before they marry."
Yvonne put on a thick skin and told her daughter, "I think giving birth to you was the best decision
I''ve made in my life."
"Dad, look at her. She''s so shameless." Maria pouted and muttered.
Yvonne nodded, "Right now, I can''t care about my pride anymore. If I want to keep my pride, I won''t
be able to hold onto you both. So I''ll have to temporarily throw it aside. Now, not only is your dad
mine but so are you."
