Chapter 1146
Half an hourter had passed.
Somewhere around the Northward City.
Zachary''s car was parked at the side of the road, where he had been lurking around for more than an hour. The ground was filled
with cigarette butts too.
He didn''t move an inch while he remained expressionless, making it seem as if many thoughts were crossing his mind.
Yvonne took a cab to get there. When she arrived, she could see Zachary leaning against his car from afar.
Under the streemp, his slender physique was reflected by the long shadow. Half of his face was covered by the shadow. It
made him look even more grim.
She got out of the cab.
The cab turned around and left.
From a distance, Yvonne looked at Zachary with her heart full of emotions.
She hade for him in the end.
She couldn''t miss out on this opportunity that had been given by Grace.
She told herself that she had returned to this country to reunite with her loved ones.
If she couldn''t ovee the feeling of embarrassment, then she would never be able to get back together with Zachary.
Hence, she was here.
Even if her eyes were still red and swollen, even if she had cried for such a long time in her unit, and even if she shouldn''t
appear in front of him in her current state, she was still here.
From afar, she looked at the man under the streemp, as well as his elongated shadow, and felt a strong sense of destion
which overwhelmed her.
Seven years.
It had been too long.
She couldn''t believe that they had missed out on seven years.
In this area, there weren''t many cars, not to mention that it was close to midnight at that moment.
He leaned against the car on his own as if he was a sculpture.
Yvonne kept on looking at him and eventually realized that he hadn''t been moving for a long time.
While being overwhelmed with destion, her heart felt as if someone had stabbed it again.
Her heart ached.
It was due to how quiet and dead still it was.
There was a deathly stillness in his motionless appearance.
Had he always been like this for the past seven years?
If it weren''t for the fact that she had seen him like this now, she probably wouldn''t have thought much about it.
His dark-colored suit blended in with the night. However, what didn''t match the view was the sudden downpour.
It was typical for summer, where the weather can change anytime.
The rain droplets instantly soaked the clothes.
Yvonne didn''t have an umbre. Since she had just returned, she didn''t have many things prepared.
However, Zachary still did not move. Even with the rain pouring down, he remained in the same position, as if he could not feel
the rain at all.
He simply remained in the same position quietly.
Soon enough, his dark-colored suit was drenched as the rain droplets fell from his face and onto his suit.
His eyebrows looked solemn while there were hints of loneliness and solitude in his eyes.
Yvonne took a few steps forward.
She was getting closer to him.
The rain droplets had blurred her vision.
However, she could still see his pale face clearly, as well as his gloomy eyes, which made her feel troubled.
She covered her mouth and stopped there and then. She ignored the fact that she waspletely drenched.
She stared at him in a daze.
The rain was getting heavier and heavier.
Asudden gust of wind caused Yvonne to quiver.
The next second, she saw Zachary finally move. Instead of looking up, he opened the door and got into his car.
Yvonne opened her mouth, attempting to reach out her hand to stop him, but she hesitated.
She still couldn''t help but to hesitate at thest moment.
He turned on his headlights and drove away.
She was left alone in a nted corner.
Yvonne smiled, and then withdrew the hand that she had extended.
At the end of the day, she did not call out to him.
Neither did she move at all.
At that moment, she felt a sharp pain in her heart and couldn''t help but feel shocked.
What kind of damage had she caused him?
Yet, if things had already turned out this way, then how could shee clean with everything? Everything that happened in the
past wasn''t what she wanted at all.
Was there still a point in telling the truth?
The rain felt chilly.
She knelt on the ground and couldn''t move for a long time. She hugged herself while her eyes appeared to be extremely
mncholic.
She was exhausted.
The water that sshed around eventually gathered around her and flooded as time passed by-
Yvonne''s phone rang.
She didn''t answer it though, as if she couldn''t hear it, as she was seemingly stuck in her own world.
Grace had called her twice already.
Heinz had arranged for some people to follow Yvonne to Northward City, but they didn''t expect her to be stuck under the rain
instead of getting into Zachary''s car.
Grace felt extremely worried. She called Yvonne to ask her to return quickly, but she wasn''t picking up her phone.
Feeling nervous, Grace was left with no choice but to give Zachary a call.
When the phone rang, Zachary was driving. He instantly sobered up upon being drenched under the heavy rain, and thought of
how he shouldn''t have behaved in such a way just now.
"Hey, Grace."
“Zachary, Yvonne went to where you were just now to look for you. | shared your location with her as Heinz sent someone to
follow you guys. After | told Yvonne about it, she went to look for you but somehow did not call out to you under the rain. Until
now, she''s still drenched under the rain. You should think of what you want to do about it."
As soon as she was done, Grace hung up the phone before waiting for Zachary to respond.
Zachary froze. His hand trembled as he put down the phone and quickly made a u-turn to return.
He drove really quickly.
The wipers moved hard without stopping to wipe the rain away too.

He returned to where he was just now and scanned around, but he couldn''t see anyone at all.
Zachary parked his car at the original ce, and got out of his car to look for her.
There was no umbre in his car.
He got out of the car immediately to look around for Yvonne.
The rain was getting heavier and heavier.
Suddenly, near the corner of the car on the sidewalk, he saw a tiny figure kneeling there.
If he hadn''t been looking carefully, then he wouldn''t have been able to tell that it was a person.
He ran as quickly as he could towards that direction.
When he was about to reach where she was, he suddenly stopped.
Too small.
Yvonne was hugging herself while squatting on the floor, which made her seem as if she was an animal who got abandoned by
its owner.
Zachary pursed his lips and walked towards her step by step.
He was finally in front of her.
Yvonne seemed to have sensed that something was wrong. She suddenly looked up, while her eyes could barely stay open due
to the rain.
Yet, she could instantly tell who it was.
It was Zachary.
His face didn''t look good, and wrinkles could be seen between his eyebrows as he furrowed them.
His vicious appearance made Yvonne feel a little ufortable, uncertain, embarrassed, and most importantly, stunned.
With all kinds of emotions interweaved, she forced herself to smile. "Hi, what a coincidence."
Zachary''s lips pursed even tighter. His gaze, mixed with the rain, nded on Yvonne''s pale face.
He took a deep breath and said coldly, "Move!"
After that, he turned around.
Yvonne was startled for a while, but she stood up as well.

When he finally arrived in front of Yvonne, he bent down slightly to carry her up.
