"You''re worried that I''ll be unfair?" Jensen retorted with a smile.
"No," Zayne shook his head, "I just want this matter to be handled impartially.”
This young man was smart and had a way with words. He meant basically saying the same thing, but the way Zayne had
rephrased it made the distrust seem non-existent. This child has some tricks up his sleeves.
Jensen smiled slightly and said, "Well, if you''re so worried that your mother''s case might be treated unfairly, why would you still
let her turn herself in?"
Zayne looked at Jensen and replied, "I just want to live my life with a clear conscience. | think it''s better to own up to it, that''s all."
Jensen startled a little at that before speaking up, "It seems that your value aligns with mine."
"| don''t quite care if they do or not," Zayne stated, his tone bored and a little biting.
Jensen continued to look at the young man in front of him some more. He really was something else.
He didn''t even look the slightest bit panicked by the thought of his mother being sent to prison. He was the epitome of calm at

Still looking at him, Jensen said, "You''re right. Guess it doesn''t matter if your values do align with mine or not. But tell me this,
how do you envision everything to turn out?"
“Officer Charm, | believe that you understand what impartial means. | want this case to be investigated and judged ording to
thew. | want it to be handled properly," Zayne said in a deep voice.
Jensen shrugged and said, "Well, that''s a given. You realise that your mother has justmitted a homicide, right? If the crime
is proven, she might be sent to jail."
Zayne''s eyes narrowed at it and a worried look could be seen in his eyes. However, he calmed himself down quickly.
He looked out of the window for a while before speaking, "I believe my mother will ept the consequences. She has to be
responsible for her actions after all."
Jensen felt once again defeated by this levelheaded young man in front of him. He merely looked at him in silence.
Sensing the man''s gaze on him, Zayne turned away from the window and redirected his gaze to meet Jensen''s eyes again.
"| did a background check on you before. You''re a rtively sessful policeman, an incredibly qualified one to boot. | believe
that you are not one to advocate for unfairness," Zayne said.
"So your reminder just now was for my own good?" Jensen asked.
"You can put it that way," Zayne said. "I just don''t want the policeman in charge to be changed midway. It would be troublesome."
“Well, alright then. I''ll watch from the side. If she is truly repentant and Grace has not been severely harmed, maybe her
punishment won''t be too terrible," Jensen said, "Right then, I''m going to go in and get more intel about the proceedings."
Zayne pursed his lips and asked, "How badly is Grace hurt?"
Jensen was startled by the sudden question.
Zayne added, "You must have received some updates about her situation. Otherwise, you wouldn''t say so."

He looked at Zayne and replied with a slight smile, "You realize that Grace is pregnant, right? We can''t confirm that everything

Zayne added, "To be fair, we can''t be sure if the damage is caused by my mother''s actions or if it happened naturally. Right now,
we can only pray that the children will be born safely and healthily. Otherwise, my mother will surely be med. Even if we do
find out that it wasn''t her fault, in the end, everyone else will still think it is."
Jensen nodded thoughtfully and said, "That makes perfect sense, you''repletely right."
Zayne gnawed at his lips a little and replied, "I just hope the children will be safe and sound."

eye. "This has been your intention all along. You want my mother to own up to her actions and be punished so that you can
somehow make up for all those years of guilt you''ve felt towards Grace."
Timothy admitted that it was his initial thought. Butter, he had felt that the divorce was enough punishment for Quinn.
He didn''t expect his son to be even more ruthless than himself.
“Dad, you two have been married for so many years. Do you think you''ve really been fair to her?" Zayne asked again.
Timothy merely stared at his son in silence.
At that moment, he did not know how to answer that question.
