Little Gary actually felt touched that Heinz carried him in. He even thought that he must have understood a little about how things
should be.

Little Gary ran out of words to answer him. He held his head up while still lying on the bed and looked up at Heinz. He then
revealed a sly smile and said, "Fine, fine. Don''t try too hard to act as my dad. | definitely won''t call you that."
"| had seen thating. Fine then, you don''t have to call me your dad. It''s best if you don''t for this lifetime," Heinz teased.
The father and son pair were at odds with each other. Little Gary harrumphed softly. He sounded very stubborn when he spoke.

"Yes, of course it is. | have to bring it up every once in a while. This matter is very important." Heinz sat on the edge of Little

would rather not be a man. I''ll leave my seat for you. You can enjoy being a gentleman. | just want to be a child and | want to
sleep now. I''ve said it a thousand times now that | want to sleep.”
Little Gary kicked off his shoes, climbed back into his bed, turned to the other side, snuggling his pillow. He didn''t even change

Ernest nodded and said, "| have already put your pajamas in the bathroom for you. You can change there." "Thank you, Ernest!"
Little Gary said with a smile.
He walked to the bathroom and said, "It would be great if Maria was as smart as you."
"I''m a man," said Ernest. "Gary, when you''re all pretentious and snobby you''re like a girl."
"No way." Little Gary rolled his eyes at him and went into the bathroom.
When Heinz went down to the living room, he saw Maria nestling in Zachary''s arms. The sight was just a little too pitiful.
He walked over and sat down in front of Zachary. He then said, "Maria, you didn''t sleep wellst night. Why don''t you head to the
guest room and let your father stay with you while you nap? After you wake up, Little Gary and Ernest wille and y with
you. Okay?"
"They won''t want to y with me." Maria shook her head. "Uncle, don''t try tofort me."
“Oh, I''m notforting you,” Heinz told a white lie. "They just promised me that they would y with you when they wake up."
He believed that both the boys would be understanding towards Maria, and they wouldn''t be so mean as to not y with her.
It was just that when Maria first arrived, she scared the boys.
He firmly believed that all children were kind.
Hearing that, Maria finally raised her eyes that were filled with hints of suspicion, and looked at him. She asked, "Really?"
"It''s true," he nodded seriously.
"You''re not lying to me?" She asked again with uncertainty.
Heinz became more serious and said, "Yes, I''m not lying to you. Now that your father is Gary and Ernest''s uncle, Aunt Grace and
| are also now your uncle and aunt."
"Huh?" Maria was a little confused. "Aunt and Uncle?"
"That''s right."
Maria looked at Zachary with a confused serious look.
He nodded.
She called out their names.
Heinz asked Lester to give her a big lollipop.
Maria''s mood then turned happy. Zachary then carried her to the guest room.
The whole house turned quiet.

Zachary came out of the guest room.

They guessed that Maria may have felt ack of security without her dad by her side.
Now that she had her father with her, she could fall asleep easily.
