Chapter 1009
Zachary merely stared at her coldly.
Yvonne felt like her soul could leave her body at any time from how frightened she was. She wasn''t sure of what he might say
next.
Just when she thought he would continue to remain silent, he smiled coldly and said, "Childish."
She was a little surprised.
Did he really say such a thing?
The young master of the Lowe family from Soutnd had always been a polite, cultured gentleman.
However...
It looked like people would always change.
Just like herself. She used to be such a hardworking and serious person who could do whatever she wanted, but she herself
ended up changing as well.
Yvonneughed at herself. How could she expect other people to remain the same when even she herself had changed?
She didn''t continue the topic. Instead, she said, "| really have to go now, my boss is waiting for me."
She had just returned to the country. Work hadn''t been easy, so she wanted to prevent herself from being gossiped or spoken ill
of.
All she wanted was to work, so that she could take care of herself and her daughter. That was all.
"Leave?" Zachary sneered. "Did you really think you could leave this room before you rified everything?”
As he said that, he stood up from the sofa. His tall and strong figure made Yvonne feel immensely pressured.
She panicked and immediately took a few steps back.
He stared deeply into her eyes with those sharp eyes of his for a few seconds, then he walked towards the door.
He closed and locked the door.
Upon being locked, a creaking sound was made, which made Yvonne feel as if her own heart were being locked.
In a disoriented manner, she stared at Zachary, who stared at her coldly from the door. He didn''t have to do or say anything to
send chills down her spine.
She was really afraid of him.
That was because she wasn''t sure of how to face this man.
She felt extremely down and dejected.
He stood by the door and didn''t seem to be rushing. He merely stood there and stared down at her.
His gaze looked so sharp that it made her feelpletely helpless.
"Yvonne, don''t you think you should exin yourself?" Zachary asked in a cold voice. He spoke slowly, almost word-for-word.
Yvonne stared nkly at him for a moment before saying, "What is there for me to exin? Mr. Lowe, | really have to leave now.
The way you''re acting now makes it seem as if there''s something between us. | don''t want to be misunderstood by others."
"Seems? Misunderstood?" He walked over step by step from the door and looked at her with his sharp gaze.
When he walked in, she felt extra nervous.
"Shouldn''t you exin why you suddenly left me the day after you had sex with me?"
As soon as he spoke, her face became pale instantly, as if someone had just removed her
soul.
She lowered her head and slowly said, "There''s nothing to exin about it. It was merely a mistake. Why do you have to take it
so seriously?"
"Yvonne!" He felt hurt. "I can''t believe you have the guts to say this."
She was very flustered.
She knew she couldn''t panic. She couldn''t allow herself to.
She couldn''t show that she was actually afraid of him.
After taking a deep breath, she calmed herself down a little and said, "Why wouldn''t | have the guts to say that? | can say it
whenever | want."
“Yvonne, I''m seriously suspecting whether you''re the same Yvonne Attwood that | met in the past?" Her indifferent attitude further
angered and irritated Zachary, thus making him sound even colder.
“Perhaps you don''t understand me, but I''ve always been this way," Yvonne said in a nonchnt manner. "Mr. Lowe, why are you
still remembering this incident after so many years? Is it because you have been missing me throughout all these years?"All content ? N/.?vel/Dr/ama.Org.
His eyes violently throbbed as they were filled with raging mes.
He stared at her in a fixed manner without answering her.
She gathered her courage and continued on, "Six years ago, what happened between the both of us merely happened due to
our primitive desires for one another. Hence, there were no other reasons for us to keep in contact afterwards."
D*mn it.
He cursed in his heart.
Yvonne continued to fuel his anger, "The only thing | didn''t do was to break up with you in the morning. If that has been troubling
you, let me tell you now that there is nothing between us apart from that single night. Mr. Lowe, why are you still holding a
grudge against me for that? Please don''t tell me you remained single all these years because you caught feelings for me from
the one night we spent together.”
Zachary felt really furious.
This woman had really gone too far.
His eyes werepletely bloodshot as he fixed his gaze on her eyes.
He never answered her. He just kept looking at her as if she was a stranger.
She felt even more flustered by his gaze.
Sheforted herself over and over again in her heart, "Don''t get scared or frightened by Zachary."
However, deep in her heart, she also wanted to hear his answer.
She wanted to find out if he kept her in his heart all these years without forgetting what happened.
“Humph!" However, he sneered and responded, "What did you expect? Who do you think you are? Do | need to remember
someone like you for so many years?"
"If that was the case, why are you locking me in this room for your questioning?" She asked in return.
“Because no one else ever had the guts like you to challenge my patience," Zachary answered, "Hence, you can leave as soon
as you exin what happened."
Yvonne''s heart trembled. Even though she mentally prepared herself for his response, she still felt a sense of disappointment
that couldn''t be dissipated.
In fact, it even made her feel saddened.
