Chapter 819

    Chapter 819

Gary''s shoulders instantly drooped hearing what his mother had said. He looked at her with a sad expression and his bright eyes

shed with unwillingness. He pondered, "How could Mommy speak to me in this way? She''s so fierce!"

He curled his lips and lowered his head to eat silently. He wasn''t going to say anything more.

Regardless, he still refused to call Heinz ‘dad’.

Seeing him turn despondent made Grace realize that she might have made him anxious with the way she spoke to him.

However, she didn''t like Gary''s attitude one bit.

Therefore, she did not speak further nor did she attempt to persuade him. She simply ate her own meal in silence.

Ernest, who was next to Gary, leaned over and whispered, "Gary, what''s wrong with calling him ‘dad’? It''s not like we''re asking

you to call a man who has no blood rtion to you as your father, are we? | really don''t understand why you are so stubborn and

refuse to even call him ‘dad’."

Gary said coldly, "What do you know? Stop trying to talk to me about this and keep your focus on what you really need to get

    done."

Jensen and Alice both turned to look at him.

When the two of them saw that he was not willing to give in despite being outcasted, they sighed and neither of them spoke

    again.

Of course, no one had forced him to do so since then.

    In the study room.

    Heinz answered his father''s call.

His attitude towards his father became all the more indifferent the second he stepped into the study room. "It''s been two years

since youst called me. Who or what reminded you of me, Dad?" He asked in a husky disinterested tone.

The man on the other side didn’t know how to respond to him.

Heinz chuckled and said in an even colder tone, "I really don''t know why you''re calling me now. If you need me to do anything,

just say it directly. Don''t waste our time on the phone."

“Are you married?" His father asked.

Heinz received a call when he was getting his marriage certificate in the courthouse the other day. Now that his father had called

again, his expression changed drastically. He asked furiously, "How do you know? Are you spying on me?"

“What do you mean by ''spying on* you? You speak so harshly. Is it wrong for me, as a father, to care about my son''s marriage?"

The old man''s faint voice came from the other end of the phone with a hint of displeasure, as if he was ming Heinz for his

    outspokenness.

Heinz sneered and said, "We haven''t cared about each other for so many years. Why do we have to start doing it all of a

    sudden?"

“And your concern at this moment makes me feel very ufortable. | don''t need your care. | don''t need any of it."

Heinz thought about his father leaving, "What has he contributed since? Nothing!"

When his father left, everything hade to an end. He hadn''t seen his father for many years.

His father smiled gently and continued to say, "Well, even if you are angry because of what | have done all those years ago, to

me, you are still my son. Over the years, | have been worried about you all the time."

"Really?" Heinz asked sarcastically. Of course, he wouldn''t believe it, because if his father

really cared about him, he wouldn''t end up like that and his mother wouldn''t have left him with such hatred.

Therefore, Heinz would definitely not believe the so- called ‘concern’ his father suddenly had over his well-being.

He said unemotionally, "There is no need for that, | need neither your concern, nor your attention."

“Let''s meet up!" His father requested.

Heinz said apathetically, "| don''t have the time, and also I''ve been very busytely. I''m not free to see you and | don''t know what

is left to say even if we do meet. | think we are so estranged that we may not recognize each other even if wee face to

    face."

His father said, "It seems that you still hate me, but deep down, you know that it''s unnecessary. Life may be over in a sh, and

the number of times we meet with each other may be fewer as time passes. Are you sure you don''t want to see me?"

"There''s no need to meet," responded Heinz, seeming a little calmer this time around. He really didn''t think it''s necessary for

    them to meet.

He felt that he had already grown up. It was clear that right now, it was his father who needed him, whereas he no longer needed

    his father.

He really felt that his father was asking more of himpared to what he asked of his father. However, he was still aggravated

when he thought of the things that happened in the past years.

Therefore, he didn''t want to meet with his father, and so he said impassively on the phone, "! won''t meet with you. | don''t want to

    see you at all.”

His father continued to say, "You are married. As a father and a father-inw, shouldn''t it be reasonable for me to meet with your

    new wife?"

Heinz said coolly, "No, she doesn''t want to see you either. In her perspective, | have no parents. Besides, | don''t want her to

know the situation in our family. Having such a father will only embarrass me more."

His father chuckled and said, "What''s wrong with having a father like me? Didn''t you divorce Jodie not long ago? And it even

came to the attention of the public. Everyone can make mistakes in their rtionship. Even if | make a mistake as a father, that

speaks of my own behavior. It doesn''t mean that I''m not your father."

"That''s just what you think. | really don’t want to see you. That''s it," said Heinz, and he hung up the phone.

He did not give his father the chance to speak again. He thought of his father resentfully in his mind, "You want to meet Grace?

Who do you think you are?"

To Heinz, that man had lost his rights as a father many years ago. He felt that it was unnecessary for him toe back at a time

when he didn''t need him anymore.

Heinz put down the phone and quickly returned to the dining table.

He seemed rather bothered. It seemed that this phone call had affected his mood greatly as it was very obvious that he had

    be unhappy.

Almost as soon as Heinz came down, the children looked up at him as if they were sizing him up. They asked him voicelessly

about the result of the phone call through their eyes.

Grace looked at him worriedly. She didn''t say anything although she had the same bodynguage as the children.

Jensen looked at him and asked with concern, "Why did Uncle call you?"

Heinz said lightly, "He wants toe back to see me and Grace, but | rejected."

Jensen raised his eyebrows and said, "Is it because he saw the news that he decided to see Grace right now?"

Heinz said tly, "Yes, probably, but it

has been so many years since w

contacted eac other we hece to

suydenly) get involved in each other''s

lives, it would feel very strange. Thus,

    | rejected his request." Please read

She nodded andforted him, "You don''t have to exin yourself to me. I''ll be fine as long as you are at ease and have peace

of mind in your heart, Heinz."

Heinz was very moved. Grace was a considerate and reasonable woman. She could understand what he was saying.

He nodded in response to her assurance.

Jensen also voiced out and said, "We
