Chapter 810
Candace seemed to be very sensitive to the word ‘death’, as she immediately grew infuriated as soon as Grace mentioned it.
Grace had a hunch that Candace actually knew about her own condition.
Otherwise, she wouldn''t have suddenly raised her voice.
It was obvious that she was intentionally hiding something.
Grace fixed her gaze sharply at Candace and said, "If you aren''t about to die, why would you entrust Lowell to me? It seemed
like you were making sure that | would take care of him after you die, weren''t you?"
Atrace of panic shed across Candace''s eyes, but she quickly calmed down. She narrowed her eyes at Grace, still refusing to
admit it.
"Bullsh*t! I''m just toozy to raise him. Lowell is a very thoughtful child. He will be a great helper in the future if you keep him by
your side. You should thank me for that, instead of doubting my intentions," Candace responded.
Grace remained silent as she stared at Candace with a cold gaze.
Candace then continued. "In fact, in a sense, I''m helping you build bonds with people around you. As the saying goes, unity is
strength, isn''t it? If you raised him sincerely, how could he betray you?"
"Nonsense!" Alice blurted out as she couldn''t hold back her anger anymore. "How can you be so selfish to ask my sister to raise
your son?"
Candace replied with a smile, "No, you''re wrong. I''m not telling your sister to raise him all by herself. What I''m saying is that you
should raise Lowell together with your sister. Don''t you think you should repay your sister''s kindness for raising you?"
Alice was taken aback. She had never expected Candace to say such shameless words.
“Of course I''ll repay her myself. You don''t have to tell me that. You can''t even handle your own affairs properly. As a mother, who
has yet to fulfill your duty, you''re still arguing with me here," she retorted.
Grace then turned to Alice and stated, "Alice, there''s no need to waste your breath on her. She''s sick."
Candace immediately shouted anxiously, "I''m not sick! I''m fine.”
“Now, get up and go to the hospital with us. We''ll have aprehensive examination." Grace walked over and ordered
indifferently.
As she stood before Candace from a close distance, she realized Candace was in a worse state than she had anticipated.
Grace''s eyes widened in shock.
It seemed that Candace didn''t want Grace to know about her condition, so she turned away with a sneer and covered up her
face with strands of her hair. From N?velDrama.Org.
"What? Stop being nosy. It''s none of your business," Candace remarked.
"Fine, | won''t care," Grace responded as she stared down at Candace.
The roots of her hair were grayish- white. Upon closer inspection, it was evident that Candace had dyed her hair.
Grace was stunned, and she squinted her eyes in confusion.
She then took a deep breath and asked, "Weren''t you looking for me? You''ve been putting in so much effort to find me. Now, you
can tell me what your purpose is."
Candace sneered as she replied sarcastically, "You didn''te when | looked for you. Now, you are here when | don''t want to
see you."
Grace was beyond impatient at this point.
"Speak, what''s your problem? Don''t beat around the bush, | don''t have the patience for that."
"Huh." Candace sneered, and a sinisterugh erupted from her lips. She suddenly turned to meet Grace''s eyes, and she
revealed her face beneath the strands of her hair.
Grace''s body tensed up in an instant.
She looked at Candace in shock. Candace was really old.
The nasbial folds on her face were very deep, and her skin was so rough that it looked as if she was 70 years old.
Furthermore, she was as pale as a ghost.
Grace was dumbfounded.
She suddenly felt her heart twist into knots. At this moment, she realized that the woman in her memory had aged a lot.
She looked at least 20 years older than her peers despite her real age.
This was too shocking.
Grace felt that Candace shouldn''t be like this.
What the hell was going on with her?
Candace stoppedughing, and cooled off a little. She was still wearing a sinister smile on her face as she questioned, "Now that
I''ve be like this, are you satisfied?"
Grace stood still in silence.
She stared at her mother in front of her with aplicated expression. It was true that she didn''t expect her mother to appear
like this, and her mother looked so old that her appearance didn''t match her actual age.
