Chapter 703
Heinz always thought that he would be at the top of the food chain for the rest of his life, but the reality
was so bleak.
He knew that all this was because of his arrogance.
Knowing that Hermione was bearing witness to the consequences of his inconsiderate behavior, he
had no choice but to ept it.
However, this didn''t make the situation feel any better for him.
It felt as if he had been dragged down cloud nine and was now crashing to the ground.
Only one word could describe the entire situation: embarrassing.
And to that, Heinz did feel very ashamed.
On the other hand, Hermione was in no rush. Neither was she startled by his anger. Showing how
reluctant she was to leave, she continued to tease, "Of course there''s a reason for meing to
Grace''s room. I have something to tell her, so I can''t just leave. If you don''t mind, Mr. Jones, I''ll wait
here just like you. Anyway, she''ll have toe out sooner orter. Let''s see who she entertains then."
Hearing this, the brows on Heinz''s face twisted into a tight knot. He couldn''t understand why this
woman was trying to pick a fight with him.
Obviously, Heinz was angered by the yful tone in her voice, so he red at her.
"Mr. Jones." Unfortunately for him, Hermione didn''t find any of this ufortable. In fact, she
continued to smile and wagered a deal with him. "Shall we make a bet? Let''s see who Grace will go to,
you or me?"
The brows on his face furrowed even further. Looking at Hermione, he said unhappily, "Editor Lowe,
why are you trying to pick a fight with me?"
"What? Since when?" Hermione smiled and answered modestly, "Mr. Jones, you''re far above me.
Without you, our newspaper office wouldn''t be so famous. I haven''t even expressed all my gratitude
towards you, so why would I even pick a fight with you?"
"Well, your behavior says otherwise," Heinz said in a low voice.
"Well, you''re mistaken." Hermione waved her hand. "I''m not trying to pick a fight. I''m just joking around
because I think you''re being too tense. If you don''t want to make a bet, forget it then. Stop putting on
such a long face. Any luck you have would''ve been chased off by that face of yours."
Heinz bathed in his own silence for a moment; there was a touch of sorrow between his brows.
On the outside, Heinz may havee across as arrogant, cold, and distant, but thanks to Grace,
Hermione learned about the other side of him.
Just like anyone else, there were things which he didn''t know how to handle either.
For example, everyone always thought that he''d been single his entire life. However, in reality, he''d
been married for some time now.
In Hermione''s opinion, it wasn''t a smart decision on Heinz for registering the marriage so early in his
life.
He had been too young.
No matter how mature someone was at that age, they could do anything reckless within a few seconds.
Take herself for example. Back then, she and Lorenzo were also madly in love. She was so infatuated
that she insisted on marrying him.
However, the facts proved that Lorenzo wasn''t a good person.
Now, Hermione only felt regret as she thought about her past. Perhaps it was right to listen to the
elders after all.
Thinking back, she could''ve avoided so many tragedies.
But at that time, who would have known that things would''ve turned out that way?
No one could tell what the future holds.
Suddenly, the tone in her voice became firm as a serious look swept across her face. "Mr. Jones, I
have something to say, but I don''t know if I should say it."
"Speak!" Heinz said in a deep voice.
Right now, he wasn''t in the position to argue with Hermione.
Hermione smiled and said, "Well, since you insist, then I''ll go ahead. I''m sure you know about what
happened between me and Lorenzo."
Even the name ''Lorenzo'' made Heinz frown.
"Since I''ve been through a lot, I figured that I should give you a few words of advice." Hermione smiled
sincerely. "Give her some space, and also give yourself some time to calm down. Before doing
anything, you should always consider the consequences of your actions before carrying them out."
Upon hearing Hermione''s words, Heinz understood that she was just trying to lend him a hand. At the
same time, he knew that she was telling him that he should''ve thought it through before suggesting a
breakup.
By the looks of it, Grace seemed to have told Hermione everything.
Heinz couldn''t help finding their dynamic a little funny. It looked like Grace really regarded this woman,
who was at least a decade or two older than her, like her sister.
Regardless of this, he knew that everything she had done to this point was out of goodwill.
This was the only reason why he didn''tsh out at Hermione''s behavior earlier.
Looking at her, Heinz nodded slightly and said, "Editor Lowe, you''re right. I should''ve thought things
through before bringing it up. I understand that this is a reminder for me, thank you forthat."
His sudden politeness startled her.
Hermione didn''t expect him to ept her advice.
She thought that her words would just add fuel to the fire and anger him even further, leading to his
rebuttal and arguments. Nheless, it was clear that Heinz had no intention of doing so.
This made Hermione feel a little embarrassed about her behavior. "Mr. Jones, that was just some
advice from one friend to another. I didn''t mean to hurt your feelings."
Seeing that she epted him as a friend, Heinz went straight to the point. He looked her in the eyes
and added lightly, "I understand. If you did, I wouldn''t have let you speak."
He had such a domineering aura that it made people around him speechless.
Sensing this, Hermione felt worried for Grace. She knew that she must truly be strong-willed to go
against a man with such confidence.
This man would intermittently reveal his ego without even realizing it.
Hermione smiled and replied, "I see, then can I ask you something? When you met Grace earlier, how
did she treat you?”
Seeing that Hermione was the one who started this topic, Heinz smiled slightly and answered, "Well,
she''s cold but not too cold. I can''t really tell what she''s feeling. Maybe you can give me some insight on
this?"
Taken by surprise at his words, Hermione quickly retorted, "Mr. Jones, why do you think I would help
you?"
"If you didn''t want to, then you wouldn''t have asked." Heinz pointed out sharply, "Just spit it out. Quit
going in circles."
"You truly are sharp." Deciding that there was no point in concealing it from him, Hermione gave him
the whole run down. "I can see that Grace loves you, but there''s a sense of doubt behind it."
"With that being said, you were too callous with bringing up the break up. You should''ve told her about
your situation instead."
After listening to Hermione''s deduction, Heinz kept silent. At that time, all he wanted to do was protect
Grace from being bashed by any media portals. How could he even think about it?
Belonging to N?velDrama.Org.
"Do you think any woman out there would want a rollercoaster of a life like hers?"
"All she asks for is stability, not turbulence.
So, Mr. Jones, what do you have to say?"
Heinz remained silent for a long time after hearing Hermione''s words. He acknowledged her wisdom in
silence.
He knew that she was saying this for their own good.
Seeing that he wasn''t making a sound, Hermione added another sentence boldly. "I think honesty is the
foundation of a solid rtionship."
"As long as you don''t lie to each other, being honest will take both of you on a long journey together.
Only in this way can you build a healthy and trusting rtionship."
