Chapter 466
Grace knew that an elder like Old Master Carter would never allow his grandson to be subjected to a
matriarchal system.
She had only been joking.
She didn''t mean it seriously.
The old man noticed how easy it was for Grace to tick him off. He immediately calmed himself down
and said, "I didn''t expect you to be so bad."
After taking thest bite of her food, Grace put down her spoon. Taking her time, she said to him, "I''m
afraid that you would be upset if I deny your evaluation of me."
"Hmph, you''re such a scheming woman," Old Master Carter said again.
Nodding, she said, "I can do worse actually."
Old Master Carter''s brow furrowed as he stared at her.
"If we have a child in the future, he will take my surname," said Grace.
"That''s what it is now, isn''t it?" Old Master Carter thought of the five-year-old child, who looked just like
Heinz. He didn''t need a DNA test to confirm that he was Heinz''s child.
His appearance alone confirmed it all.
However, that child''s surname was still Smith, not Jones.
Hearing Old Master Carter''s words, Grace suddenly began to worry.
Had he found out about Little Gary?
"Today, I saw your child," Old Master Carter said in a low voice. "Do you really expect Heinz to follow
your lead just because you''ve given birth to a child?"
"You can have surrogates to bear Heinz''s children," Grace said. "I have no objection. It doesn''t matter
to me."
"You are getting more and more outrageous," Mr. Carter fumed. "You were very respectful to me
initially."
"Initially, I didn''t think you would despise me, but I think I''ve overestimated myself. I don''t want to do
anything that would put myself down. Besides, respect and politeness should always be mutual," Grace
said. She was very honest. "Since you''re not polite to me, I can only return the favour."
Old Master Carter waspletely stumped by her words.
He took a deep breath and put down his spoon, breathing deeply.
"You should eat some more," Grace noticed that he hadn''t eaten much. "If you eat more, you will have
the strength to argue against me. Otherwise, I''ll have an easy win."
Old Master Carter burst intoughter. "You excel at irritating people."
"I guess."
The two looked at each other.
Old Master Carter picked up his spoon again. This time, his gaze was a little softer.
Although her attitude was notmendable, she still cared about him.
She had asked him to eat more.
Old Master Carter quietly continued to eat. Then, hemented, "The food here is pretty good."
"You can eat more if you like." Grace said, "After all, you have nothing against the food, right?"
"Can you stop talking? I''m losing my appetite," Old Master Carter asked. "I''m still your elder, no matter
what."
"Well, I''ll shut up then," Grace said with a smile.
Old Master Carter didn''t continue to argue with her.
Grace was a little confused.
Wasn''t he here to break up the rtionship between her and Heinz?
Had she been too rude?
Grace reflected on her own actions.
She hoped that she would restrain herself and not be too harsh on the old man. It would be bad to
further embarrass Old Master Carter.
Old Master Carter seemed to be in a good mood as he ate quite a bit of food.
He rinsed his mouth after eating and said to Grace, "I want to y with the child on weekends, is that
okay?"
Grace was taken aback. "Are you asking for my opinion?"
"That''s right." Old Master Carter said, "No matter what, he''s still rted to me. I like him, alright?"
He liked Gary?
"You''ve met Little Gary?" Grace asked, a little surprised.
"Yeah, I went to the kindergarten this morning and was badly ridiculed," Old Master Carter said. He
didn''t try to hide anything. "I was also ridiculed by Heinz when I came back from the kindergarten, and
now I am hurt by your words."
Grace was stunned. She looked at Old Master Carter with astonishment.
He didn''t seem to be telling her that because he wanted to separate her from Heinz. He seemed to be
venting to her.
"You are so powerful. How is it possible that you are hurt?" Grace, of course, did not believe the Old
Master''s words.
"I''m old already. How strong do you think I am?" Old Master Carter fired back.
Grace couldn''t help butugh. "You look full of vigor." "How can that be?" Old Master Carter said,
"Would you allow it or not? Just give me a quick answer."
For a moment, Grace didn''t know what to tell him. She could only look at the old man and ask, "Why
did you meet with me today?"
"I just want to meet with my great-grandson and ask him to y with me for a few days. What do you
think I''m here for?" The old man shouted.
"Oh, I see." Grace looked at him in surprise, as if she suddenly realized something. "If that''s the case,
why didn''t you tell me earlier?"
"Does that mean that you''ve agreed to it?" Old Master Carter was suddenly ted.
"No." Grace said, "I have to ask Little Gary first if he wants to."
"Would he refuse your words?" Old Master Carter said, "The little fellow said that as long as you agree,
he''ll go."
"Did he really say that?" Grace was very surprised.
"Of course, why would I lie to you?" Old Master Carter acted as if he had just been insulted. He
immediately said in a stern voice, "If you don''t believe me, you can ask him yourself.”
"I really need to ask him before I can give you an answer," Grace said. "Well, if Little Gary agrees, I''ll
ask him to go over on the weekend."
"Alright," Old Master Carter said.
"Oh," Grace said as another thought entered her mind. "But Ernest has to go too."
Old Master Carter was taken aback. "Why do you care about Ernest?" "You can''t be too biased." After
careful consideration, she said, "He is a sensitive child. If you treat Gary too well, Ernest will be sad."
Hearing that, something shed in Old Master Carter''s eyes. He carefully looked at Grace and smiled.
However, this time, it was a joyful smile.

He hadn''t expected Grace to be so thoughtful. "You''re right," The old man said in a low voice. "Then,
tell the two children toe to my ce."
"I''m fine with that as long as they don''t have any objections," Grace said.
"Alright, this feels good." Old Master Carter nodded his head and shouted loudly, "Butler."
"Yes!" The butler immediately came in from the door and looked respectfully at Old Master Carter.
"Chief, what can I do for you?"
"Let''s pay the bill and leave," Old Master Carter said.
"We''ve already paid the bill," the butler said.
Startled, Grace immediately stood up. "I said that I would pay!"
Old Master Carter snorted. "Do you think that makes sense? Do you think I can''t afford it?"
"I know you can," Grace replied. "But you''re a guest."
"Hmph, don''t pretend to be polite to me now," Old Master Carter said in a low voice. "You weren''t so
polite when you ridiculed me just now."
"Well, you never said you were here for the sake of the child, did you? I thought you wanted to break us
up."
"Hmph, nice try," Old Master Carter snorted in response. "By the way, let''s have dinner together tonight.
My ce."
"Ah!" Grace felt that the old man was a little too excited.
"That''s settled then. Let''s go to my ce. I''ll ask the butler to wait for you at the gate of the
kindergarten this afternoon. See youter," Old Master Carter walked out with the aid of his walking
stick.
Grace looked at his retreating figure in a daze. She didn''t know how to respond.
