Chapter 441

    Chapter 441

Tyler smiled gently. With exaggerated politeness, he spoke, "Don''t trigger me. I won''t spend my life with

simply any woman. The world is cruel. If I''m not careful about who I marry, then my life would be even

    more difficult."

Laneyughed at that. Looking at Grace, she said, "This is my name card. Both lunch and the salon

service have been provided for the interview today. Let me treat you to dinner together."

"No, that won''t do," Grace immediately said. "Let us treat you."

Grace felt that Laney was already doing them a great favour by letting them interview a master painter

like her. How could she let Laney treat her for dinner?

"You''re very kind, young woman." Laney looked at Grace carefully. The longer she stared, the wider

she smiled. Tve made up my mind. I''m treating you."

"But -" She was interrupted by Tyler before she could say anything.

"Grace, forget it. If she is willing to treat you, just let her do so. If you are treating, you would have to

im the money. This olddy earns a lot of money from her royalties. It''s better to just let her treat."

Tyler''s words made her feel a little awkward. She could tell that Tyler had a good rtionship with

Laney, perhaps their rtionship was even better than that with Professor Charlie Ross.

He didn''t look like a stranger to Laney.

"That''s right. If I don''t spend this money, nobody is going to spend it after I die," Laney smiled very

brightly. "That''s settled then. All of you should hurry up and go get your work done. We''ll have dinner

tonight, and then I''ll find you a few candidates for the following stages."

"Thank you so much," Grace really didn''t know how to express her gratitude to her.

She and Chuck quickly left and followed Tyler to attend the interviews they had previously arranged.

"Tyler, have you known Professor Brooks for a long time?" Grace quickly took the chance to ask the

question she had long been curious about.

Tyler nodded, confirming his answer, "Mm, I''ve known her since I was young. She''s old friends with my

father. They knew each other even before I was born."

"Ah, so she knows your father," Grace nodded. "No wonder you seem so close!"

"Yes, I''m very close with her," Tyler said. "However, my brother is even closer with her."

    "You have a brother?"

    "Yes," Tyler nodded.

Grace was surprised again. "I''ve never heard you talk about your family."

"My family is very simple; it''s like most families, there are both the good and the bad sides." It seemed

that Tyler didn''t want to discuss the topic anymore. He smiled and said, "Hey, by the way, if Professor

Brooks wants you as her god daughter, would you like that?"

Grace was stunned for a moment, but she said immediately, "How is that possible? I can''t possibly

    ept that."

"Professor Brooks only has two sons. Her biggest wish in life is to have a daughter. Fate wasn''t on her

side; she and her husband only had sons, so she wants to have a goddaughter," exined Tyler.

After hesitating for a while, Grace shook her head. "This is not child''s y, we have to leave it to fate."

Tyler burst intoughter. "Alright, let''s go for the interview first."

    "Okay."

"Go in now and conduct the interview. It should be about an hour and half long. When it is almost

twelve o''clock,e out for lunch. The next three interviews have been scheduled for the afternoon.

Four people a day, each person around one and a half hours."

"That''s what I have in mind too," Grace said with a smile.

Tyler nodded. He looked at Grace and said, "It''s an honor to have guessed what you were thinking."

"It''s an honor to get to know you," After saying that, Grace went to work.

Soon, an hour and a half passed.

Chuck had to hold back his questions for more than two hours. Finally, he had the chance to talk to

    Property of N?)(velDr(a)ma.Org.

    Grace in private.

"Mr. Henley is an outstanding person, Grace. He put in every effort to help you, introduced so many

people to you, and all of them are important people. These are enough for our publication for the next

    few months."

    "Yeah, he helped a lot."

"Why didn''t you ask Mr. Jones for his help? Why did you ask Mr. Henley?"

After pondering about that for a moment, Grace said, "If I need Heinz''s help in everything I do, then we

wouldn''t be able to draw a line between personal life and work life."

"But if you owe Mr. Henley a big favor, wouldn''t it be harder to repay him?" Chuck looked at her and

    reminded her.

After thinking for a while, Grace shot Chuck a look and said, "Just say what you want to say; don''t beat

around the bush. I don''t understand what you are trying to say."

"It is exactly what you are thinking," Chuck smiled and said. "It''s already very clear what I want to say.

After all, you are in rtionship with Heinz, and Tyler is a man. If you owe Tyler too much, Mr. Jones

    will be jealous."

Grace was stunned for a moment and then she nodded. "Tyler and I are friends. I know Tyler way

    better than I know Heinz."

Over the years, as friends, they had supported each other mutually. Their friendship meant a lot to

    Grace.

Tyler was a teacher and a friend to her; but above that, he was family.

She was very honest with him, and her boundaries were also very clear.

Chuck chuckled in response, saying, "Surely you would know better. It''s so puzzling, considering how

excellent Mr. Henley is, why aren''t you two together?"

Grace shrugged and said helplessly, "Chuck, have you always been such a gossip?"

Chuckughed in embarrassment. "No, I''m just curious."

As they were talking, the phone rang.

Grace said to Chuck, "I''m going to answer this call. Make yourself at home. Let''s meet here again in

    ten minutes."

    "All right."

Chuck quickly went to the bathroom.

Grace walked to the corner to answer the phone.

    "Hello?"

"Where are you?" Heinz''s voice sounded through the phone.

"I''m at the Convention Center!" Grace said.

"Do you want to have a meal together?" Heinz asked.

"There''s a buffet provided here. I have a few interviewster," Grace said. "By the way, I don''t have any

free time in the afternoon. Tyler introduced an old painter to me. I''m going to have dinner with them."

"Tyler Henley?" Heinz frowned and asked in a deep voice.

"Yes," Grace did not hide it from him. "Tyler helped a lot with these interviews."

"Grace," Heinz suddenly said in a hoarse voice, "I can help you if you let me."

Grace was stunned for a moment and suddenlyughed. "Are you jealous?"

Heinz was very jealous at first, but when he thought of what Grace had said to Jodie Lawson''s parents

in the morning, he suddenly felt that no matter how jealous he was, he should trust Grace.

"Yes, I''m jealous." He paused and whispered, "But, I trust you."

Upon hearing that, Grace felt warmth blossoming within her. All of a sudden, her body was enveloped

    with warmth.

A thought cropped up in her mind.

    He was really nice.

If they worked together to trust each other, they could each be their better selves for each other.

"Heinz, thank you for trusting me," Grace held the phone tightly and said. "I know my boundaries and I

    know what I should do."

"See you tonight," he said softly.

"Yes, see you tonight. Also, I''ll leave the kids to you."

    "Don''t worry, mom."
