Chapter 431

    Chapter 431

She followed Heinz all the way to the vi on the mountain, blushing.

As soon as they parked the car and entered the living hall, they immediately saw a candlelight dinner

    ready in the dining hall.

The butler waited there respectfully. When he saw theme back, the butler stepped forward and

said, "Sir, Miss Smith, you are back. Dinner is ready."

"You may leave," Heinz said. "I''ll eat with Grace."

"Yes," said the butler obediently. He nodded slightly to Grace and left quickly.

There were only two people left in the room. Grace felt more at ease, but her heart kept pounding.

Heinz took her hand and walked to the dining table. He took a look at the exquisite dishes on the table.

"I am going to wash my hands." After removing her coat and bag, she went to wash her hands.

Heinz put down his suit and went to the washroom with her too.

    Just then, the phone rang.

He picked up the phone and looked at the number. It was Chief Stone.

Heinz was stunned and picked up the phone. "Aunt Stone?"

"Heinz, can youe to the hospital for a while?"

    "Now?" Heinz was very surprised.

"Yes," Chief Stone said. "Mr. Lawson wants to see you. He has something to tell you."

"Are you sure it''s a good idea for me to go now?" Heinz was a little worried that if he got angry, it would

cause his blood pressure to rise again, and it might cause otherplications.

"I know you''re worried," Queenie said. "So are my cousin and I, but Mr. Lawson is saying that he has

something to tell you. Apparently, if he passes away without telling you, he will regret it forever."

Heinz pursed his lips and looked at Grace who came out of the washroom. She looked at him and

    whispered, "Go ahead."

At that moment, Heinz felt extremely guilty in his heart. He felt that Grace was really a good woman.

    He didn''t want to go.

At least he didn''t feel like going.

However, his rational side told him to go.

He gave Grace an apologetic nce, hesitated for a moment, and then said to the phone, "Okay, I''ll be

    right there."

    "Alright, drive safely."

    "Okay."

After hanging up the phone, Heinz came over. In the face of Grace, he whispered, "I''m sorry, Grace."

"It''s okay." She shook her head and said, "Go ahead. I''ll eat some while waiting for you."

"Eat more!" He reached out and patted her on the shoulder.

Grace patted him on the arm with her hands and said, "Go ahead. Mr. Lawson''s condition is not stable.

Don''t provoke him. Be more patient."

Heinz''s eyes narrowed, and they were filled with surging emotions.

He looked at Grace carefully, reached out to hold her in his arms, hugged her tightly, and said in a

hoarse voice, "Grace, I will never let you down in my life."

"Yeah, I know," said Grace as she hugged him with a smile.

He had said those words before.

    Only then did he leave.

Watching him leave, Grace was stunned for a while. Then she washed her hands and sat at the table.

She picked up the phone and looked at it for a while.

She ate some of the exquisite dishes on the table and went upstairs.

After taking a bath, she changed into a new set of clothes. She had no idea when those clothes in the

vi had been prepared. They were all of her size and were very suitable for her.

In a sh, one and a half hours had passed, but Heinz had note back yet.

    In the hospital.

When Heinz came, he first looked for Lester.

Lester told him, "Mr. Lawson is very agitated. Although he''s calmed down quite a bit, he''s still very

agitated. He might be mad that you gave birth to a child with Miss Smith years ago."

"I know," Heinz nodded. "I''ll go in right away."

When he pushed the door open and went in, Nathan saw him and became anxious.

Pearlyn said hurriedly, "Nathan, don''t be agitated. Heinz must have his reasons. Don''t be so emotional.

I have lost Jodie, I can''t lose you anymore."

Nathan took a deep breath and said, "I know, I can''t die yet."

Chief Stone also sighed. "Brother-inw, don''t be so emotional. We need to take it easy on certain

    matters."

"I can take it easy, but I just don''t understand," said Nathan. He was lying on the hospital bed, and his

eyes were full of pain. "I just don''t understand why Heinz was with another woman as soon as Jodie

was gone. Why did he hide it from us?"

Heinz walked inside and soon arrived at the bed.

He said, "Dad, it was an ident."

"What ident?" Nathan was still very agitated. "You don''t like Jodie anyway, why do you still treat us

    so well?"

Heinz didn''t say anything. He just looked at him silently.

"See?" Nathan became disappointed. "He really didn''t love Jodie."

"It''s been so many years. Why are you still mentioning this?" Pearlyn pounded the bed helplessly. "I

don''t understand why you can''t ever move on. You were mad that he didn''t get a new girlfriend. Why

are you angry now? Do you want him to remain single for the rest of his life?"

"No, it''s not because of this. I just can''t get over it. He didn''t love my daughter," replied Nathan, his

eyes red. "Maybe, without him, Jodie wouldn''t have been able to go abroad nor would she have died

    there."

"Nathan," Queenie couldn''t stand it anymore. "You can''t leave yourself stuck in that rut. Heinz will feel

more guilty if you say that."

"I''m suffering." Nathan took a deep breath and said in extreme sadness, "I''m really sad."

"Nathan, we all know that you are sad and so are we, but it''s meaningless to look into this matter

anymore," Queenie sighed and said, "The girl is very kind. As long as you can ept the fact, I firmly

believe that they will be filial to you in the future. Isn''t it a win-win situation?"

"I don''t want it," Nathan said in a deep voice. "We are not rted at all. Why would I want her to be filial

    to me?"

Queenie turned to look at her cousin and then at Heinz. "It''s hopeless talking to him."

"Dad!" Heinz said. "It''s my fault. Calm down."

When Nathan heard his apology, he immediately got angry. "So, you admit that you didn''t love Jodie at

all, and that''s why you were with another woman just a month after her death."

Heinz frowned and said, "It''s meaningless to look into my feelings for Jodie again now."

"You don''t dare to admit it!" Nathan said in a deep voice.

Heinz looked at him and said, "I have done nothing wrong to Jodie."

Nathan frowned with a trace of anger. "Fine, fine, you are not at fault!"

    Heinz didn''t say anything.

Queenie immediately said, "Brother-inw, if this is the reason you want Heinz to be here, it''s really

meaningless. I think it''s better to ask him to leave."

"Don’t let him go," Nathan said in a deep voice. "I haven''t finished yet."

"Brother-inw, if you are mad now, you can calm down and think about it," Chief Stone said. "It''s really

futile for you to be so hung up on this considering how Heinz treated you over the years."

"Heinz, sorry for disturbing you," Pearlyn said apologetically. "Nathan is just being emotional. Please

    don''t take it to heart."
