Chapter 397

    Chapter 397

Hermione nodded, "I know what you''re worried about. Indeed, the child is too young and might suffer a

huge blow. The mainstream media doesn''t uphold professional ethics and standards."

How could Grace not know that words could kill?

She could pay no attention to them, but what about her son?

She felt sorry for Little Gary, who had endured a lot of hardships with her and never enjoyed a good life

    for the past few years.

"So, you have made up with Heinz again?" Hermione asked, smiling.

Grace felt embarrassed to be questioned again.

She nodded and replied, "Yes, we have reconciled."

"d to hear that," Hermione said. "Now I know why you two keep falling back together no matter

what. You already have a child together, how could you be separated?"

Grace responded bashfully, "Please stopughing at me."

"Alright." Then, Hermione changed the topic and announced, "I''ve filed a divorce with Lorenzo. Paid

him two million dors in exchange for my freedom."

"Really? Isn''t he still detained?" Grace asked in surprise.

"Mywyer spoke to him. He wouldn''t make it in prison without money. I promise to send him money

every month. In return, he gives my freedom back," Hermione exined calmly. "He should prepare

himself to be in prison for many years toe."

Grace was at a loss for words as she stared at Hermione.

After all, Lorenzo was imprisoned because he had provoked her.

However, she was not feeling sorry for Lorenzo, instead, she felt sorry for Hermione.

    "Hermione, I''m so sorry."

"Sorry for what? It has nothing to do with you. You, too, are a victim." Hermione smiled and waved her

hand, "My children are very understanding too. They know Lorenzo well enough."

Grace nodded with an apologetic look.

Hermione chuckled, "Don''t me yourself anymore. Maybe I''ll find myself a boyfriend soon and I''ll

probably have to thank you for that."

"Hermione? Are you seeing someone?" Grace was a little surprised.

"My childhood sweetheart is back," Hermione blushed as soon as she spoke.

Grace immediately noticed the change in atmosphere in the office.

She looked at Hermione with a hint of joy in her eyes. "Hermione, no matter what, it''s better to let go of

your past. It''s never toote to pursue your happiness."

"I think so too." Hermionemented, "I won''t torment myself anymore. Over the years, I''ve suffered

enough. When my children are all grown up, I will live for myself."

    "That''s great!" Grace replied.

Hermione added, "I''m not young like you anymore. I won''t be asking for too much. I just hope that I

won''t be lonely when I''m old. I''ll cherish the time I have and live a good life."

Grace admired Hermione for her attitude. After exiting the editor''s room, she returned to her seat and

    began her work.

    In the hospital.

It was nine in the morning when Heinz arrived.

He was there to visit Nathan and Pearlyn.

The couple was arranged in the same ward and both were on intravenous drips.

Lester had been guarding over them. He immediately stepped forward when he noticed Heinz and

reported to him, "President, Mr. Lawson''s situation has stabilized." "That''s great," Heinz nodded and

was about to enter the room.

    "President!" Lester stopped him.

Noticing Lester''s hesitant look, Heinz frowned and asked, "What''s wrong?"

"Mr. Lawson has heard about the news regarding you and Miss Smith yesterday. He said to never allow

you to visit anymore," Lester lowered his voice and said.

Heinz was taken aback. "He saw the news?"

"It should be the news analysis that revolves around Little Gary." Lester dared not to meet Heinz''s gaze

and muttered, "President, Mr. Lawson was just transferred to a normal ward. Why don''t youe back

    another day?"

Heinz''s brows furrowed. It was a thorn in a flesh.

After pausing for a moment, he uttered, "Alright then, I''ll leave."

He turned to leave but suddenly bumped into Chief Stone.

Once Chief Stone spotted him, she walked toward him. "Heinz."

"Aunt Stone," Heinz greeted her tly.

Chief Stone thought for a moment and said, "Heinz, let''s have a talk in my office."

    "Okay," he nodded.

Hence, he followed Chief Stone to her office.

After sitting down, Heinz nced at the pots of Aloe vera on the windowsill again.

Chief Stone, too, nced at the nts and sighed, "I was just telling you to keep Grace and the child a

secret. I didn''t expect the news toe out so soon. Coincidentally, we were watching the news in the

    ward and Nathan saw it."

Heinz felt that Chief Stone''s words had hit him hard.

His eyes dimmed and he paused for a moment before saying, "I''m sorry."

"He probably couldn''t ept the fact that your child is already in kindergarten." Chief Stone pursed her

lip and continued, "To be honest, it was hard for me to ept too. After all, you and Jodie were such a

perfect match. But right after she died, you had a child with another woman. It was a great blow to

Nathan. You should understand his feelings as Jodie''s father. He felt disappointed, sad and regretful for

    Jodie."

"I understand," Heinz said ndly. "But I have no other choice."

    Chief Stone was stunned.

Heinz lifted his gaze to meet hers, saying firmly, "Grace and our son had endured many hardships over

the years and haven''t been living a good life. I won''t let them keep things bottled up for someone else. I

can endure it but I won''t do that to my woman and child. No way."

A glimmer of light shed across Chief Stone''s eyes. She smiled briefly and seemed a little awkward.

However, after a awhile, she nodded gently and said, "So, Heinz, I guess it''s best that you stay away

from here for the time being."

Heinz nced at her and said, "Do you want me ask Lester to leave too?"

    Chief Stone was taken aback.

"It would be best to ask Lester to leave if seeing him would worsen Mr. Lawson''s condition," Heinz

    exined calmly.

"Heinz, why are you so emotional?" Chief Stone smiled. There was a look of embarrassment on her

    face.

"No. I feel that you and Mr. Lawson are the ones who are being emotional. I can understand your

feelings but I don''t owe Jodie anything."

He stood up and gave Chief Stone a meaningful look. Then, he walked out of the office

    magnanimously.

Chief Stone''s jaw dropped and she was rendered speechless for a long time.

With that, Heinz left the hospital.

Back in the car, he lit a cigarette and started smoking.

Then, he received a call from Lester. "President, Chief Stone had asked me to leave."

Heinz frowned and said, "Just do as they said. You may leave." "Yes, President!"
