Chapter 393

    Chapter 393

    It was Monday.

Grace Smith got up early in the morning to make breakfast. After they finished eating, they went to the

entrance of the kindergarten and waited for the children toe.

Little Gary and Ernest only stayed with her for a night that weekend. The children enjoyed the

    remaining time on their own.

They had grown up to the point where it felt as though they did not need her anymore.

She was waiting for her son and Ernest to go to school. She felt inexplicably empty.

Heinz Jones nced at her and realized that she seemed a little down. He asked, "Do you miss the

    kids?"

Grace nodded and replied, "Yeah, I miss them."

"Grace, just move to my ce. Let''s stay together," he suggested. He stared at her seriously and his

    tone was sincere.

Grace was a little surprised. She did not expect him to bring it up so suddenly.

Moving to his ce would mark the real beginning of their stay together.

In fact, she did not want to live together. Perhaps for women, marriage would be more desirable.

However, he did not mention it.

She lowered her gaze and her long eyshes fluttered gently. She asked softly, "Do you want me to

move to Ernest''s ce or your hillside vi?"

Heinz was very generous and he answered, "Well, it''s up to you. Do you like the city or the hillside

    vi?"

"To be honest, I prefer the hillside vi. The environment is great. The ce is spacious and the air is

so much fresher. But, it''s too far away from the city."

"I prefer the hillside vi too," Heinz continued happily, "It''s great that we have the same taste."

Grace hesitated for a moment and asked, "Is the vi in the city huge too?"

"It''s much smaller than the hillside vi and there''s a big difference in the space. The hillside vi is a

little far away but there''s a designated driver to pick up the children, so we don''t need to worry about

the distance. We could live together on the hillside or we could stay alternately in the city and on the

hillside. After all, we own both ces."

It was nice to have someone to fetch the children but she still had to work. It was a little inconvenient

because it was quite a long journey.

"Should I I pick a car for you?" he proposed, "It''ll be much more convenient for you to travel to and fro

    from work."

She was taken aback and she stared at him with aplicated look. He was very thoughtful.

"If it''s possible, I hope that you could just idle around. Go and get some facial treatments, do some

shopping, and just be my lovely wife," He stared at Grace and revealed his wishes. He continued, "But

I don''t think that you''d be happy, so I respect your decisions. I don''t mind if you want to go to work and I

could take care of you too if you were to quit your job. Just do whatever you like."

"Thank you for understanding and respecting me," Grace said softly and shook her head. "I''d better go

to work. I want to get some things done."

She did not want to lose the ability to survive. It was too insecure and the rtionship would notst if

she leeched on a man like a parasite.

"Then you should work," he said, "Don''t turn down the car."

Grace had intended to shake her head.

However, he persuaded her before she could speak. He uttered, "Grace, you have even given me a

son but you refused everything that I have to offer, and you don''t intend to get even with me either. It''s

only right for me topensate you, so don''t turn down my kindness, okay?"

She nodded as she thought his words made sense. She agreed, "Alright, I won''t turn you down. Just

get me a smaller car. Call me when you want to buy it and I''lle along with you."

"Okay." He nodded and suggested, "How about today?"

"Let''s do it a few dayster," Grace added, "I''m not in a hurry."

"Sure," Heinz respected Grace''s decision. He had ought to learn after making so many mistakes in the

    past.

"We could buy a carter but could you move in today?" he asked. He wanted to bring Grace back to

his ce immediately so that she would stay in his ce forever and never leave again.

"We shouldn''t be so hasty about it," Grace exined, "My apartment is very close to the kindergarten.

We picked this ce in the beginning because it''s convenient to go to school."

Heinz was a little disappointed and he pleaded gloomily, "But you''ve just promised me."

"I did promise you," she chuckled, "But you are being too impatient. More haste, less speed. Let''s not

    be too anxious, okay?"

Heinz let out a long sigh and muttered, "Alright, how can I say no? What could I do?"

Grace was helpless when she noticed his pitiful look. She nced at him and uttered, "Would you

prefer for me to get carried away and just agree with everything without showing any sign of

    reservation or consideration?"

    Heinz was stunned.

"Heinz," Grace continued in a raspy voice but her tone wasposed and rational, "I don''t want to look

    like a wh*ore."

Heinz''s heart skipped a beat. He suddenly felt that her words were like needles pricking his heart.

He regretted what he did back then.

He was always so reckless and he had hurt Grace over and over again.

She probably had a lingering fear in her heart.

Therefore, she was reluctant to go.

"Grace, you''re right. I''ll respect your decisions but please think about it," He nodded and his voice

became husky and dull. He continued, "I have never yed my part properly and that made you feel

    insecure."

The best oue would be where everything fell into ce naturally. Then, she would follow him

wherever he went willingly without having to hesitate ore up with a reason. She would then be

willing to sacrifice everything for him.

However, he had yet to be someone whom Grace was willing to sacrifice everything for.

To put it simply, he was not good enough.

Yet, she was being very nice to him when she mentioned that he was a thousand times better than

Simon. He could not push her.

"No," Grace''s heart was in a mess and she felt extremely terrible when she heard what he said. She

then continued, "Let me think about it."

    "Yeah, okay."

For a moment, both of them were quiet and neither of them spoke again.

Countless people came to send their children to kindergarten.

Grace and Heinz waited for the children to arrive. Soon, a car stopped beside them and they heard two

crisp voices when the window rolled down.

    "Daddy."

    "Mommy!"

Grace turned to the window and spotted the children''s round faces.

All of a sudden, all the frustration in her heart disappeared, leaving only tenderness.

Two little boys in identical clothes jumped out of the car and rushed to Grace and Heinz excitedly.

They were wearing the new clothes that she had bought for them the previous day. It seemed that their

new clothes were ironed and it fit them neatly.

They were about the same height and build and they even looked a little alike. People who didn''t know

them would think that they were a pair of fraternal twins.

Grace recalled her lost child, who was Little Gary''s fraternal twin too.

There were two zygotes in her womb, thus the children would not look identical.

However, they really looked like twins as she stared at them.

Her eyes were shining with stars and she watched gently as the children flocked over her like birds.

Little Gary shouted again when he approached, "Mommy!"

    He hugged Grace coquettishly.

    Grace hugged him back.

Ernest ran to Heinz''s side. He wanted to hug Heinz but he restrained himself immediately.
