Chapter 382
Nathan Lawson pursed his lips. His gaze was full of keen insight after his close encounter with death.
"Heinz, you don''t have to feel sorry for us," he said, "In fact, what you have done for us is not part of

your responsibility."
Heinz Jones shook his head and said, "No, I don''t feel obligated to do this. I am sincere in everything
that I''ve done."
After all, he had the financial ability to do so.
"Heinz," Nathan looked at him and said as though he was enlightened, "Listen to me. I know that you
feel responsible because of your guilt. On top of that, you also take pity on the fact that we two old
things had lost our daughter. But we are not your responsibility. I''m not an unreasonable person."
"Dad!" Heinz shook his head and said, "Don''t say that. We''re a family. Both of you will always be my
family members."
Nathan said, "You have taken care of us for many years, that''s enough. When Jodie was still alive,
what you did was out of duty. After Jodie was gone, what you have done for us is out of affection. We
can distinguish these clearly, son."
When Heinz was about to say something in reply, the nurse looked at him and said awkwardly, "Mr.
Jones, the patient has just woken up. We need to observe him and do a check-up on him. Talking too
much might be detrimental for the patient."
Heinz was shocked and he immediately nodded. Then, he said, "Okay, well talk about it another day."
"I''m sorry," The nurse smiled and said, "If everything is fine, I''ll send him to the ward after the
examination ispleted. You may go back now. Mr. Lawson''s body is very weak. He shouldn''t be
talking too much."
"Okay, thank you. I''ll leave now then, " Heinz looked at Mr. Lawson and said, "Dad, this is the intensive
care unit. I can''t stay here for long. They''ll move you to the ward once your condition is stable. Then
you would be able to stay with Mom there. After the two of you recover, you will spend the rest of your
lives together."
"Go ahead," Mr. Lawson replied. Looking at Heinz, his eyes turned red again.
Heinz turned to leave after shaking his hand.
He felt as though a huge weight had been lifted off his shoulders.
Mr. Lawson had woken up.
Aftering out of the intensive care room, he met Jensen''s gaze.
The two of them looked at each other. Jensen Charm sighed and said, "Heinz, you are an extremely
loyal person."
"I don''t need yourpliment," Heinz said calmly, while raising his eyebrows.
"I know that you don''t needpliments from others. What you need is Grace''s understanding,"
Jensen said. He could see through Heinz''s thoughts clearly.
Heinz frowned and didn''t say anything for a long time.
Jensen sighed.
After the examination on Mr. Lawson waspleted and he was confirmed to be awake, Heinz and
Jensen went to the ward again.
Pearlyn Drake was very happy to hear that her husband has woken up.
Shey down on the bed and looked at Heinz with her eyes full of tears. She said, "Heinz, thank you
for everything."
"Mom, please don''t treat me like an outsider," Heinz said.
"Indeed, it''s all thanks to Heinz," Chief Stone said, as she nodded and sighed sincerely, "Without his
support and encouragement, the two of you probably won''t be able to survive until today."
"Heinz, you should head back now," Pearlyn felt extremely relieved after knowing that her other half
had woken up. She said, "Go back to rest. You must be tired."
"It''s okay, Mom!"
"Let''s go," Chief Stone said, "I''ll see you off. I have something to tell you."
"Okay," Heinz said and he nodded slightly to Pearlyn. Then, he left the ward with Jensen.
They walked out together.
Jensen automatically moved aside and walked to the elevator to wait for Heinz.
Chief Stone lowered her voice and said, "Heinz, let''s not tell them about your child for the time being.
After all, the child was born too close to the time when Jodie passed away."
Heinz frowned and thought of his son, Gary.
He hesitated for a moment and said, "Aunt Stone, I don''t intend to hide the existence of my son, whom
I had with Grace, from the world. All these years, it has not been easy for Grace to bring up the child
alone. My son grew up well without me. Therefore, I don''t want to hurt him anymore."
Chief Stone was shocked and she looked at Heinz, whose face was a little stiff. She smiled bitterly and
said, "I know, Heinz, I understand your rationale. But they have high blood pressure."
Heinz looked at Chief Stone directly instead of avoiding her. He said frankly, "I know what you mean.
You are afraid that the news will aggravate Mr. and Mrs. Lawson."
"Yes," Chief Stone nodded and said, "I''m afraid that they would not be able to handle the shock."
Heinz looked ahead and he was silent for a while. Then he said, "Aunt Stone, I''ll try my best. However,
if the news is leaked, there''s nothing I could do."
Chief Stone nodded and said, "Okay, let''s take it one step at a time."
Heinz said, "Aunt Stone, it won''t take long."
"What do you mean?"
"For me to announce to the world that I have a son and that he is already five years old," he said
frankly, "I''m responsible for Mr. and Mrs. Lawson, but I have a unshirkable responsibility for my son."
Chief Stone was astonished for a while, then she nodded and said, "Yes, you''re right. Back then, when
you and Jodie had such a huge quarrel, it was her fault. We couldn''t me you."
"Thank you," Heinz pursed his lips and said, "Then I''ll take my leave now."
"Goodbye," Chief Stone nodded and said.
Then, Heinz strode away.
Chief Stone watched his tall figure leave quickly. His back was firm and straight.
She sighed. Heinz was indeed a kind person, but he was still firm in his principles. No one could
disregard his quiet coldness and nobleness.
Chief Stone returned to the ward after watching Heinz leave.
Heinz and Jensen then entered the elevator.
Looking at his extremely cold face, Jensen frowned and asked, "What did Aunt Stone say to you?"
Heinz remained silent while standing in the elevator. He seemed to be uncertain of where to start.
"What happened?"
Heinz frowned and said, "She asked me not to reveal Little Gary''s identity. She''s afraid that the news
will aggravate Mr. and Mrs. Lawson."
"Hide it from the public?" Jensen was shocked and said, "This request is a bit excessive."
Heinz frowned.
When Jensen looked at Heinz''s expression, he knew that Chief Stone''s request was too much.
"As you can see, once you y the good guy, they want you to continue doing it," Jensen said, "Heinz,
you have tried your best to care for Jodie''s parents even though it was no longer your duty. It''s really
unreasonable forthem to request such a thing from you."
"Aunt Stone was the one who suggested it," Heinz said, "Mr. Lawson could differentiate between
obligation and affection very clearly."
"That''s good to hear," Jensen nodded and looked at him. Then he asked, "What are your thoughts
then?"
The elevator arrived at the lobby soon after.
Heinz strode outside and said in a low voice, "Others may not know what had happened between Jodie
and me but you know it clearly."
Jensen was dumbfounded. Then he shrugged and said, "I only know some of it, not the full story."
Heinz frowned and nced at him coldly.
Jensen burst intoughter and said, "Hey, don''t look at me in such a terrifying manner. Are you saying
that you won''tply with the request?"
Heinz looked ahead and said, "That little guy is the foundation of my rtionship with Grace. He’s also
my flesh and blood. Therefore, he will always be my priority."
