Chapter 864 Do it for yourself
“Tom, please help me get her out of here, this woman is unreasonable!" Nina cried out with her eyes
tightly shut. She hoped that Carlee would disappear when she opened her eyes.
Hearing Nina calling out Tom''s name, Carlee realized that he was the man in the photo. No wonder he
had looked so familiar.
Carlee was not expecting Tom toe to Nina''s aid and this made her even more furious. She threw
off Tom''s hand and pointed a threatening finger at him. "It''s just so shameless of both of you. You guys
are hooking up behind my son''s back but you still want to trick him into donating his bone marrow!"
As soon as the words left her lips, Carlee screamed at the top of her lungs and pounced on Tom,
screaming; "For aligning with this bitch and plotting to harm my son, I will scratch you to death today!"
She then began digging her fingers into Tom''s neck and face.
Originally, Tom just wanted to drive the arrogant and domineering Carlee out of the ward as ordered by
Nina. But now, he wanted to humiliate her. He was kind hearted and caring but that was only when he
was taking care of Nina. He didn''t show the samepassion towards others especially when it was a
woman trying to take off his face with her fingernails.
"You dare to put your hand on my face, right?" Tom growled, his eyes dark and sending a shrill down
Carlee''s spine.
Without warning, he then dragged Carlee out to the hospital corridor with a few strides. He was so
powerful that Carlee couldn''t resist his grip on her arm. Someone had finally kicked Carlee out of the
ward, and the nurse was relieved.
However, Tom didn''t feel satisfied when he had driven her out. He then pushed Carlee to the ground
with a hard push and then stood over her with his fists clenched menacingly before him.
"Go ahead, hit me! Hit me because I''m ady!” Carlee taunted. Shey on the ground and started
rolling, crying and throwing a tantrum.
But, Tom ignored her, turned and walked back towards the ward. However, Carlee''s shouting quickly
attracted a crowd of onlookers, everyone was talking about her, and the nurse stepped forward to
persuade her.
"Madam, don''t make trouble. Please just stand up and tell everyone you are the one at fault.”
Carlee sniffled back her tears and showed the nurse the bruise on her arm. “Have you lost your sight,
girl? It was that bastard who was at fault. Can''t you see that my arm was strangled by him?"
Carlee was indignant, picked up the bag beside him, sat on the ground and started calling the police.
Less than a quarter of an hourter, the police received a report from Carlee and came to the hospital
to deal with the problem.
Seeing the police officer in uniform walk into the corridor, Carlee began crying and exining with tears
running down her cheeks about how she was beaten. The police also saw that Carlee had evidence
that he was being thrown to the floor so they opened a case and went into the ward to find Tom and
interrogate him. After interrogating the two parties involved, the policeman gathered them back in the
ward.
"Mrs. Carlee, I think you are the one responsible for instigating the attack on yourself. First of all, you
broke Ms. Nina’s mobile phone, and you also tried to attack Mr. Tom, it''s reasonable for both of them to
want to kick you out!"
Carlee did not expect that the police would be taking sides with Nina and Tom when she was the one
who had called them in the first ce.
"I broke the phone because Nina angered me, and I hit Tom because he was the first person that
treated me roughly. What they did was rude, but instead of telling them to pay damages, I want them to
apologize to me, or this will not end today!"
The police didn''t know what to say after Carlee''s speech. Tom did not want Carlee to continue to
influence Nina and finally proposed that they all go to the police station to resolve the conflict. As
everyone bought his suggestion, Carlee was taken out of the hospital by the police and was detained
on the same day for the crime of picking quarrels and provoking trouble because of another riot in the
bureau.
Harley, however, had just finished the press conference and was about to go to the hospital when he
received a call from the police on the way. Hearing that his mother was arrested, he had a headache,
so he had to turn at the intersection ahead and rush to redeem the people.
Two hourster, Harley paid a fine and got his mother out of prison. On the way home, he was gloomy
and never said a word.
He soon got fed up listening to his mother stillining about the events of the day and out of rage,
he simply parked the car on the side of the road.
"Mom, have you said enough? I''ll continue driving when you are satisfied and are ready to shut up.." It
wasn''t until she saw that Harley was dead serious, that Carlee realised how much of a mess she had
made today, so she kept her mouth shut to avoid any more provocation.
The moment Harley dropped his mother home, he rushed back to the hospital without wasting a
second at the house. Harley came out of the elevator hurriedly and that was when he learnt from the
attending doctor that the child would be operated on the next week.
He was very happy for a while and was anxious to tell the good news to Nina, who he thought didn''t
know the news and stepped up to the ward. However, when he opened the door, he was surprised to
see Tom sitting next to the hospital bed, peeling oranges for Nina.
“Harley!” Nina called softly, smiling as soon as she noticed his presence. "Thanks foring. My
parents went to the temple to pray for the baby today, I believe she will get better soon.” Nina was
apologizing to Tom but when he saw Harley walk in, his face retained its stern look. Also, with Tom
present, Harley didn''t say much but just nodded. Afterwards, he removed the bouquet from the cab
and reced it with a new bouquet of roses that he bought halfway on his ride here. Since he couldn''t
say the words he wanted to say the most, he just wanted to express his love for Nina with as many
romantic gestures as he could.
Silence reigned over the room. Tom exchanged nces at Harley and Nina; each staring back at him.
It was at that moment that Tom realized that Nina seemed to have an unusual affection for Harley. He
could see it in her eyes, in the way she looked at Harley and this made her ufortable. Could it be
that Nina had fallen in love with Harley during the time they parted? He could barely have time to think
about the question though when Nina spoke.
“Tom, I think you need to go back early. You know my parents are not thatfortable seeing you
around. I''m afraid they will quarrel again with you when theye back."
That statement made Tom''s eyes dim in anger but heposed himself. "I understand. I''ll see you
another day then." And with that, he stood up and left but not before giving Harley a long hard stare.

It came as a bit of a surprise to Nina that Harley and Tom didn''t sh today. Perhaps it was because
she was around. That had to be why they just acted like they both weren''t in the same room. Listening
to Tom''s footsteps fading away, Harley said calmly: "I met the director just now, and he said that True
Paul will have surgery next week."
"Well, I heard that too.” Nina pursed his lips and smiled. "By the way, Harley, your mother came to see
me today."
Harley knew that Carlee had gone to the hospital to make a fuss when he ran away from his mother.
“I''m sorry Nina, I told my mother that she should not interfere with me saving my daughter. You don''t
have to worry, no one will affect the baby’s operation."
Hearing Harley''s assurance, Nina nodded reassuringly. She was trying to persuade Harley not to get
into too much trouble with his mother when she heard the voice of Kasen Paul in the corridor.
