    The man bit down hard on Mike’s thigh and continued to let out muffled screams like a madman. His


    horrifying face was undoubtedly his sore spot, and he went amuck without the mask to hide it.


    “Let go, you nutcase! Let me go!” Mike continuously punched the man’s head as he yelled.


    However, no matter how hard he hit the man, the man refused to yield and continued biting down with


    all his might. Blood seeped from Mike’s pants, staining them red.


    The other two knew how hard the man’s bite was. The crazy man lost control and had no regard for his


    life. Mike hit him incessantly, and the unyielding man looked like he would get beaten to death.


    Lily hastily looked at Edward.


    Edward caught himself, raised his hand, and struck the back of the man’s neck with a hard chop. The


    man grunted and passed out. However, he continued to bite down on Mike.


    “F*cking nutcase!” Mike scolded but could not remove his leg from the man’s mouth.


    Edward pinched the man’s cheeks, and with his help, Mike finally freed his leg. Mike sat on the floor


    and was in such great pain that he kept sweating as he gasped. Meanwhile, Lily knew the cut was


    deep, even without needing to check on his wound.


    “He’s a maniac, alright.” Edward looked at the fainted, ugly man and said solemnly.


    Lily got up and joined Edward by his side. Then she bent over to look at the wound on Mike’s thigh


    before tearing off a cloth to staunch the blood. “You shouldn’t have provoked him. He’s crazy!”


    “I’m crazy too! I’ll kill him for wanting to harm my son!” Mike said through gritted teeth, still resentful.

    “Don’t be rash,” Lily said, “Now’s not the time.”


    She looked toward Edward. “What do you have set up? What’s your n?”


    Edward remained quiet.


    Lily thought about it and asked, “Did you set up bombs?”


    Edward lowered his gaze, seemingly admitting it.


    Mike came to his senses when he heard the mention of bombs. He turned to look at Edward while


    saying in shock, “Are you insane? Bombs? Do you know how many viruses are in the facility and the


    consequences of blowing up the ce?”


    Edward answered quickly, “It’s better than spreading them! The ‘vine’ willunch soon, and tens of


    thousands of innocent people will get infected unwittingly. We can’t let that happen!”


    It was his decision and had nothing to do with anyone. He concluded that it was the best solution.


    ‘We can only eradicate harmful viruses by destroying the facility!’


    “Have you ever thought about the innocent people here who know nothing about the organization’s


    secrets or what’s happening? Do you n to kill them, too?” Lily asked.
